  • Nice one, I wonder if you can help me...I have been looking everywhere for a good backing track ... any idea where I can find it?

  • @Supermarbru Thanks, i used an Aebersold backing track.

  • @Mpoiuz Pls, wich one? I've one but it's different arrangement... :-(

  • @alienlove1 It's Volume 25, All-time Standards.

  • To play a 3/4 at that speed is always a challenge. On top of your sound, which I like a lot, I also like your sens of humour with these remarks by this pet behing you...congrats...lol..

  • @Shawinijazz Thanks :)

  • Hi Uli, auch mal wieder schön, ein "ganz normales" real book Stück zu hören. Sehr schönes Solo, je länger das Solo läuft, desto besser entwickelt es sich. Very nice!

    Bis dann, Frank

  • @FrankRMusic Besten Dank :), ja macht auch immer wieder Spaß so was zu spielen!

  • I don't like the timing, it kills the piece. It sounds hasty and rushing. The song should make you feel at ease, that's what it is about and it does that perfectly when played in a moderate and steady tempo.

  • beautiful tone and playing!

  • It doesn't matter which guitar you use it depends on the player. You are a great player therefore any guitar will sound great.

  • Erfrischend und einfach gut!

  • @jazzdings Besten Dank!

  • Sweet , mellow, fat jazz tone.

Good player and good guitar !

  • Fascinating...

You are a great Jazz player!

After a harsh day nothing better than this. Tx.

  • @maryaport Nothing better than reading this after a long day :)

  • is it a standard thing to pan the piano 100% right and the bass 100% left in this type of Jazz? I think the use of this is that no frequencies are fighting against each other.. but If anyone want to share the answer. It would be greatly appreciated :)

  • @metalpraxis : No, that's not typical for that music. The reason for the 100% panning is that bass or piano players can easily fade out the instrument for practicing by panning to the right or left channel.

  • @Mpoiuz I see, thanks for the reply!

  • really nice playing. thinking about getting a j-3. btw what is that backing track? music minus one? band in a box?

  • @reverseengine Hi, it's an Aebersold backing track.

  • Very nice playing, is it Wess Montgomery inspiration? Anyway, great sound and very good swing!!! I have nearly the same Ibanez es 175 gibson copy but this one is better than mine. Did you change original pickups to gibson p90 or classic 57? Have a good day, and keep on swinging so "class" like that!!

  • @papyslapet1 Thanks for commenting, i think there was no special inspiration. I exchanged the original super 70's pickup by a gibson burstbucker #1. - Uli

  • Amazing music!! You are so very talented Uli!! Congratulations!! Thank you so very much!!!

  • Uli,

    Bravo Maestro. Das ist Brillant.

    Cheers,

    allen

  • Such an amazing solo with so much melody. Great job.

  • wow ... simply beautiful improv. elegant and not overdone. thnx for sharing.

  • Stellar performance. Great stuff.

  • Hi, Could you tell me about your gear ? (strings, amp, speaker)

i have the same guitar, and i want to optimise the sound.

I love your sound, good playing too !

    Gm

  • Great playing Uli, I have a friend that has that same model guitar. And they sound nice and it feels good in your hands to play. Nice improvisation man. You the man!!

    Love it.

  • @jazzyedwin24 : Hi Edwin, thanks for listening and your kind words. I really like that guitar (we played a lot of gigs together :)).

  • I Cant hear any difference between your Ibanez and ES175... great tone, great playing. 5*****

  • Nice playing and good taste in gear. Funny, I have a natural finish Ibanez 2461 and a dark burst 2355....and a polytone minibrute II. However, I dont play nearly as well as you. Keep grooving. Dick.

  • Excellent theme and solo-development,steady timing and great melodic Ideas in your solo, enjoyed very much, friend invitation of course excepted, greets Vic.

  • @Jazzguts : Thanks for watching and your detailed evaluation!

  • @Mpoiuz Nobody gains anything from those "steno-type" comments nowadays, better watch and don't comment at all. I always thought YT was set up as a means of communication between individuals. But I'm experiencing more and more that certain individuals are considering YT as nice big Free Site of useful Info without giving anything in return. I'm not in that Hedonistic bag,Vic.

  • @Jazzguts: Thanks again for your words, Vic. I absolutely agree!

  • @Jazzguts Hey, Uli! Super! Bisschen schade ist nur der abrupte Schluss. Gruss, Jogi

  • @JogiBass Very nice detailed comment Jogi, great you always as a serious musician take the time to listen and comment, sehr gut mein Freund,Vic.

  • @JogiBass : Hi Jogi, danke noch mal fürs Anhören und Kommentieren! Stimmt, der Schluss ist sehr abrupt, im Playback kommt da ein langes Outro auf em, aber ein Fade-out hätte es auch getan ;-)

    lg uli

  • HI, Sounds great. Was this a 2355M recorded direct?

  • Thanks!

It's a Ibanez 2355M played through an AER Bingo amp.

  • beautiful tone and great impovisation.

    keep swinging - axel
