there's a david allan coe song called the ride some of it's lyrics say Drifter can ya make folks cry when you play and sing? Have you paid your dues, can you moan the blues? Can you bend them guitar strings? He said "Boy, can you make folks feel what you feel inside?....These guys defiantly do all that and more
this is one of the best bluegrass voices i've ever heard. he should record a song called bring back to me my wandering boy i think it would be a big hit for him
Mr. King is able to put himself in this palce. John Prine couldn"t do it better. It is a great salute to our silent heroes, elderly and others that we need to give a kind word to time after time.
This song has so much meaning to me. My uncle, Bill Cook(covington Va.)Sang this song for my grandpa(Arthur Cook), his daddy, the evening of his funeral. I was raised an Bluegrass and my family palys too. This song makes me cry like a youngn every time I hear it because iy reminds me of my grand daddy laying in his bed the last couple days he was alive. And he loved his bluegrass and loved James King!
one of the most under rated bluegrass performers out there today. James King and Charlie Sizemore can play bluegrass better than anyone out there right now. They bring back the memories of Monroe,Flatt, and Jimmy Martin like no one else but with their own style.
I don't know how many times I can stand to listen to this song. You paint every scene perfectly...we should all wish to have to have friends as such...A true performance. Breaks my heart everytime with a smile.
This is a magnificent song. You can't listen to it without crying. The singing and picking is wonderful, and that harmony part is awesome, it just melts me.
So beautiful!! I have read this as a poem. Didn't know it was a song until my sister had me look for it on line! So glad she did. You do a wonderful job!
im from ohio and go to the macc fest every year james king is as good if not better then dave evans look fer the song echo mountaine or garage sale by him they jam
The guy singing the harmony on this is just outstanding. It is superb in every way - the notes he chooses to sing and so tight with James King's voice. Wonderful!
Music is supposed to evoke emotion, James & Kevin can sure bring up the heart strings....IMO, one of the best ballad singers in bluegrass music today..Randy

James King actually got choked up while singing. He really puts his all into his music. I think that makes all the difference.
