Well, it's not a hybrid... It's an alternate fuel vehicle. A hybrid combines conventional fuel with alternate to increase efficiency.
But it is a cool bike none the less. I wouldn't mind seeing a bunch of these zipping around town. Too bad the hydrogen fuel cell is so bloody expensive to produce. I don't see costs going down any time soon either, Platinum isn't exactly easy to find.
I think the only real hope to bring the cost down is to find a good alternative catalyst. But no joy so far.

awesome idea, although thing's basically a scooter with power output equivalent only to 125cc. These sort of bikes are gonna have to put out the equivalent of at least a 600cc before they win the hearts and minds of the motorcycle community. But I'm sure as the technology progresses they'll be able to squeeze much more power out of the motor.
perhaps it is boring, but if you want to test new technologies on bikes, you might as well stick to a shape which people are familiar with. Especially bike riders tend to keep away from anything that looks unfamiliar. The commercial failure of the Yamaha GTS is a prime example of that attitude.

Why is everyone trying to develop fuel cell vehicles? They are actually worse for the environment. Where do you think the hydrogen comes from? Hydrocarbons. So not only are you using energy to get the hydrocarbons, but your using energy to convert them as well.

awesome idea, although thing's basically a scooter with power output equivalent only to 125cc. These sort of bikes are gonna have to put out the equivalent of at least a 600cc before they win the hearts and minds of the motorcycle community. But I'm sure as the technology progresses they'll be able to squeeze much more power out of the motor.

perhaps it is boring, but if you want to test new technologies on bikes, you might as well stick to a shape which people are familiar with. Especially bike riders tend to keep away from anything that looks unfamiliar. The commercial failure of the Yamaha GTS is a prime example of that attitude.

soooo impressive. till he said 125cc. if u want a scooter buy a scooter. and about the hydrogen. i read a wile back that a bike was designed that ran on hydrogen and its safety feature was that in the event of a crash sensors would relay the impact back to the computer which would then discharge a pressurized liquid nitrogen tank into the hydrogen tank turning the liquid nitrogen into a block of ice. this would all happen before it had a chance to explode. i though that was a cool idea.
