ive been listening to Big 4[metallica megadeth anthrax slayer] for 10 years and i only started listening to trivium last year.i absolutely love them....the easiest thing to do is compare and say tht ALL new metal bands try to immitate big 4 and therfore suck.well thts bullshit!!i hate it when the so-called ''metalheads''watch vids of trivium just so tht they can say how they have fail to imitate metallica or something!!i dont say sb has done tht in this vid but im just noticing
i feel like these guys are the next big 5(metallica,megadeth,slayer,anthrax, pantera).
children of bodom
lamb of god
trivium
shadows fall
arch enemy. i know they arent as geat as the big 5 or any better. but im just saying those 5 bands stand out unlike alot of the metal bands today that are really generic. and yes i know its really the big 4 but pantera was really big and is in the same league as slayer, megadeth etc... lets just hope these guys wont sell out like metallica.
im not too worried about the change because if theyre already writing new stuff now. then they are still in the shogun mindset so im guessing we wont have to worry about a alienating change. other bands have let people down. trivium is like the last beacon of hope for modern metal. if they pull a black album, we'd all lose hope.
Black album is a great album, not thrash (big deal), but it's got amazing written songs. People just seem to assume it's just Enter Sandman and Nothing Else Matters but there's so many brilliant songs on there.
i know. i have all metallica albums. metallica freak for over 20 years. i was listening to them in the womb. literally. pregnant women with big headphones. MASTER!!! MASTER!!! im just saying i dont want trivium to go down the same road. i think shogun is their best and if they did an extreme 180 turn. well lets just say the metal world doesnt need to go throught the turmoil again. after the black album, not only did the music change but metallica changed altogether. it got pretty bad for a while
Yeah, no one could have predicted where they'd go after TBA. I imagine them sort of becoming the embodiment of metal was the reason they decided to move away, keep changing peoples perceptions. There's some good tracks on Load/Reload but it's not the same. I think a lot of bands have learnt from those albums, not to limit themselves artistically but the risks of making such a big change out of nowhere and alienating fans.
yeah its great so far but we all got to keep in mind that the more albums they release. statistically the chance of them changing dramatically rises up. you never know what the next album could sound like. i love everything theyve done so far, but you never know what could happen.
Yeah your right but they are a young band and are aware of that mistake which is impressive, just more room to improve and grow. Matt said that they finally have the vocals they always wanted so im hoping they stick to that.
fuckng awesome, they've got like 30 songs done for the next album!! i want it now! but hell shogun, was released like 6 months ago, so i probarly have to wait a year :(
is it just me or does matt look like in the way his heads angled he looking down her shirt in the beggining? lol i dont blame him :P

Yeah if they stick with shogun sound, they will be even more amazing, the vocals were awesome in that album.

They did the same thing for Shogun. Had like 50 songs done. Demo'd 30 and then shaved it down from there.
Longer we wait the better album we'll get lol.
