One thing I dont like about hamza yusuf is that he keeps jumping from subject to subject. He rarely ever clarifies things, and thats not good or an Islamic speaker. I thought this lecture was about the dajjal. But anyways, may Allah accept and reward him for his efforts.

I haven't watched these videos but I heard about some people believe that dajjal is a metaphorical aspect that refers to certain human civilization, and others believe otherwise. But we have been given minds that can think of any possibilities as long as it doesn't go beyond what our Religion has forbidden us to interpret ourselves. Sometimes things are told indirectly to preserve the contents, as a key perhaps, or to fit with the current knowledge level of society (during Prohet's life).

I got a question for people who believe Dajjal as being symbolic? In the hadiths, they reference Dajjal as a physical being with many physical attributes. How can Dajjal be symbolic when we have clear descriptions of what and who he will be? Please help and thank you...!!!

@thebossman2828 my friend he will live for a long long time ...the prophit (pbuh) told us he will live for 40 days 1 day like a year (britan), 1 day like a month (USA) , 1 day like a week (israel) and the rest is like our human days [1 year in heavens = 1000 years for humans in quran].he will come in that phisical human form u described but in his last 37 days wich is like our humen days ...plz watch sheikh (imran hosein ) he describes it better for u ..peace bro :)

Very good speech, except what he says about the spider's house. A spider's house is not it's web. The web is a tool for catching food. Many spiders carry a lill pouch on their back, which is the house of it's young and when the house falls off it's back, the spider often will pick up a pebble or something and put that on it's back instead.

Beit in arabic doesn't necessary mean house, it can also mean recess:a part or space set back from the line of a wall, a secret place etc. Besides, house and home have different connotations, like albeit al haram, the kabaa in mecca etc, also use the word house/ beit.

here the quran specifically uses the word biet not manzil;home. and again, beit also means a space set back from the line of a wall, so perfect use of word in the Quran to describe the the spiders web.

Wow this man is so perceptive and eloquent in how he is illuminating the facts of where we are today through the words of the holy quran and hadiths. I'm so happy to hear his lecture as a new muslimah I have so much to learn. I wish I could read and speak arabic - to read the holy quran for myself. Inshallah I will before I die. I wish I could live in a muslim country.
