Unfortunately, 3DS MAX is a bit expensive ($3500 or so for the newest one). There are some free 3D animation tools out there, but I don't have any experience with them.
I used 3D Studio MAX to create and animate the models and add the special effects. This made a bunch of 2-3 second clips. I then used a video editor (MainActor) to put the clips together into one video and add sound effects/music.
Check out the whole video, in high quality, at the website mentioned at the end of the video.
I don't have a degree or any other kind of training for this - I've just been doing it as a hobby for a few years. After a while it gets to be pretty easy - after you get past the frustrations in the beginning.
@keithhazelet Yeah I found it a little while after posting that. Good stuff though, looked like you put a lot of hard work into. Especially all the commercials, you had a bunch of crap to break.
