ya that semi-built camaro short shifted 1+2. but those g54b (pickup motors) have the longest stroke of any 4 banger that era. smaller bore but long stroke meant it couldnt produce hp at high rpm as efficiently as 2.0 toyota and 2.3 mazda. But equal more torque. these g454b heads cant flow enough air to overcome the stroke and gain rpm. though the bottom end is know to be stout. So like this video, slap a turbo on one and watch it smoke camaros.

Thats the most Ferocous g54b ive seen! Turbo to the max and EFI. i got a 86' D50 sport that ive drastically improved through aspirating it with a weber updgrade, Thorley header and 2.25" exhaust out an ICP turbo muffler. Can you tell me if i should cold air intake or turbo it eventually??

Anybody here actually know thier starions? how many valves does a 86 starion have ? i hear its 8? if so is there a 12valve or even better any 16valve head thatccan b bolted directly to my block? if stupid question,my bad,my specialty is 91-94ser/91-96 g20.

2.6L (g54b) Starions have 8 valve heads + 4 jet valves (to swirl the intake mixture for better emissions, they are called "MCA Jetvalves"). The only "better" head that will bolt to your block is a super rare HKS head (Only about 12 made). So, basically no, there is not a head with more valves available.

I had 1 rebuilt the motor put a garret T4 turbo 3 inch pipes and it riped only probliem is that the parts are kind of hard to get.

The Starion is a great car of Mitsubishi, but is descontinue early 90s.

11 second is good time, but with some good modifications this car is posible make a 10 or maybe 9 seconds.

I had one, running 16psi i was told by the mechanic after it shat itself in the firing of cylinders region.... but who knows..... all i konw is she was doing 135 kmph in 3rd easily now thats something many 2litres (not 2.6) can pull off

The 4 cyl. motor from the Starion makes a lot of torque because its 2.6L. Its not a Honda guys! V8 guys know that torque wins races along with horsepower of course. Wow, that Starion was running on street tires! Interesting.

our stock 88 conquest ran a 13.90 in the 1/4 two days after getting it out of a guys backyard were it had sat for 8 years. after a tune up and a real boost gauge it was running like a top. these cars are alot more powerful than most know.
