I'm Hodel in my school's production!! The guy who plays Perchik is one of my best friends, and I can't wait until we start doing this scene. I don't think we'll be able to do it without laughing :P

I love that Hodel stands up for her traditions! She is not wishy-washy like other girls, she won't let Perchik come and tell her that what she believes in is all bogus! Maybe that's why they are such a great couple. She has an opinion!

After Revolution of 1917, Perchik will be a communist official. Then, he will be shoted by NKWD in Stalin's Great Terror on 1930's. Chava, as wife of ''enemy people',' will be deported to Siberia and she will survive German invade and Holocaust.

I got cast as Hodel in my school production of Fiddler on the Roof! We're going to learn this dance next week. I'm super excited! I think it might be a little awkward looking though because the guy whos playing Perchik is a lot taller then me... haha I think it'll be fun though :D

I love the story and the entire atmosphere of this play. I love how Perchik finds a way into Hodel's stubborn heart, and how he too begins to be more romantic. I am playing Hodel in my school's production of Fiddler on the Roof, opening this month. I am hoping to capture the character's beautiful personality well.(:

There is something about watching Perchik and Hodel falling in love that is so satisfying. Lol. It makes me chuckle because Perchik is always so unemotional and brisk... then, he loses himself in her eyes. Oh yes. Very good scene. :)

I played Tzeitel in this play because she is the only one who has a completely happy story. Also because he story would never be like mine in real life. But my favorite is definitely Hodel. She's most like me in real life... and her story is adorably lovely. Maybe my story will be like hers as mine and Hodel's personalities are so similar. Thanks for posting! This is amazing.

Most people haven't read the stories. I even went looking for a copy once, and couldn't find it through my local library system, although they had some of Sholem Aleichem's other works.

@EuphrasieF I've only read a few myself, they are hard to come by. I found some online, Hodel and Motel's stories were on there, but yea...even though they end up exiled in Siberia, they are the only ones who really end up having a happy ending. Quite fitting I guess.

Well supposedly Hodel is slightly younger than Tzeitel who is only 19. So I'd say around 17. And Perchik is about 20... 22?...
