  • Just realized my question had already been answered, sorry. Great playing though!

  • What tuning do you use?

  • Way to conjure up the old spirits..stellar!

  • Lovely! Are you self-taught? Are there any recordings you can recommend? And what kind of bow is that? It looks more bowed (arched) than a normal violin bow, and you hold it farther up. The droning (on open strings?) and the scale (pentatonic??) remind me of trad Scandinavian music, esp the Hardanger fiddle of Norway. Is there any connection? ...thanks for the post!

  • @scanditube Thank you! Yes, I'm self taught, but I've played a few other instruments, mostly Bagpipes, for a long time. That's probably why I like drones on stringed instruments. I don't know about the connection to Scandinavian music, I understand what you mean and I enjoy Hedningarna, Dram, Alban Faust, but if it sounds similar its just by accident?! The bow is homemade from a Willow whip out of the garden and some horse hair from a Fiddle maker.

  • Grat job

  • Great, fantastic building :D

    Has it a soundpost?

  • @Mr98giuliano No, but it belonged to a fiddle maker before I got it and I think he added struts/ bass bar? I'm not sure exactly.

  • @Dunholmpiper Thanks!

    Compliments for great playing :D

  • how's she tuned?
