@DBoy02 Thnx. Sadly I think this chassis looks much better than their current chassis. And I think it looks leaps and bounds better than the horrible arrowhead shaped model they just introduced. The Panoz DP01 was such an aesthetically appealing race car, IRL should've adopted that model
@HollywoodSheen Personally I find the current car better than that old one. I once heard the old cars described as "the bastard child of CART and F1 that needs to go on a diet."
As for the just unveiled car, the final product will not likely look anything like due to the openness of the formula and the fact that Dallara had only three days to prepare a visual presentation of how the concept works. They didn't have time to present something accurate to what we should expect.
@BobbyRaffertyRacing Bah! I know you're kidding but let's be realistic: Milka can run circles around her. Duno's got talent and skill...It's just far, FAR below IndyCar level. GT2/GT3 level at best. Little bit of Daytona Prototype ability, but nothing career-worthy(with only one exception her co-drivers helped her a lot every time she did well in DPs).
@DBoy02 No, I'm not kidding. There is a reason Milka is on probation. As far as her having GT2/GT3 talent, let her go back there before somebody gets hurt.
@cn009 On an F1 car, the downforce starts to kick in at only 25 MPH, though there's nothing substantial until they hit 40-50. IndyCars are less aero-sensitive, but they DO get their downforce in at some lower speeds.
At least the road course cars do. Don't know about the oval configuration.
@antispeed Yeah, the suspension doesn't surprise me - it's an older Dallara that was raced before the addition of road courses. The fully symmetrical setup needed for it to run road courses was never built. But they DID have short-oval wings(which are the same wings used on road courses, for those of you out there who aren't aware) that could -and should- have been put on for a run on a street circuit.
@wilks98 what I'm assuming DBoy02 was reffering to was the oval race aero package which should show a significantly lower downforce than the street car version; which i also assume you know.
@wilks98 Keldenbutton got it right. I was referring to the aero package. Having been an open-wheel fan(though I boycotted the IRL from it's creation up until the CART bankruptcy in 2003) since the 1993 Cleveland Grand Prix, I am QUITE well-versed in the variety of tracks the cars race on.
I've also seen the actual segment shown on the Early Show since that original comment, and I am surprised that they did indeed put her in an oval car on a street circuit.

WHAT CHASSIS IS SHE DRIVING AROUND IN?? THATS NOT A DALLARA
HollywoodSheen 1 year ago
@HollywoodSheen Actually, it is a Dallara. It's a much older model, though - that type was last raced in 2002.

Maybe she can teach Milka how to drive.

@BobbyRaffertyRacing I have to agree. As I said, her skills are FAR below IndyCar level.

I don't think it mattered that she was on an oval aero package. She wasn't driving fast enough for the aero to have any affect

@DBoy02 It wasn't just the aero, look at the camber on the front tires. The suspension is also set up for an oval.

It's not an oval car. The indy car series races on several road and street circuits.
