Does anyone know where I can find more from this act? They've vanished it seems. (?) I've not been able to find anything since Beautiful Japanese Sight [2004].
A band member died, and (I find) that their style changed dramatically. You can find their official website somewhere on the internet... I just forget what label they were under. That was a key to finding their website.
Dear god... Darkwave? Lol, this isnt darkwave in the slightest! Haha! This is progressive/experimental industrial metal. Industrial isn't Industrial Metal.
For those of you who weren't listening to Skinny Puppy in the mid-80's, this is straight up industrial -- not even slightly goth -- but doesnt even offer a pleasant twist on Puppy's sound.
Alas, this is the plight of many Japanese bands-- lacks originality. GREAT J-tunes are around though. Hide (magenta haired guitarist from XJapan) was exceptional. (Like this music, look up Skinny Puppy - Tin Omen.
I discovered skinny puppy a few years back for myself. Great stuff, although i prefer something with a little more kick to it. The problem with japans unoriginality is very common. The number of visual kei bands who try so hard to look and sound like dir en grey in their beginnings. There are pearls, very few, but yes there are some good sounds out there.
@reinuvarez Here's a hint for you guys.... music everywhere is un-fucking-original. That's why Skinny Puppy are considered pioneers. There are 25,000 Euro and American bands that sound exactly like them. It isn't like unoriginality is limited to Japan. As clone go, this is way better than 99% of them.
@onibastard I love people that don't even know what they're talking about when correcting people. Skinny isn't "industrial" either. Throbbing Gristle, is what you meant, I guess.
@SaffronsGhost I love people that don't even know what they're talking about when correcting people. Skinny Puppy is industrial...They may not have been a part of the original first wave pioneers of the genre, and they may have represented an evolution of the genre, but they were still a (very influential) part of the genre. If a genre of music doesn't evolve...If it stays the same and nobody deviates or experiments with it...It becomes bland very fast. Your KoF videos are cool, though!
@SaffronsGhost No one fucking cares about your music snob bullshit. TG was original industrial but not a single motherfucker on earth would have ever heard of them had Skinny Puppy not expanded the market for industrial 100 times over. Skinny Puppy was elektro industrial whether you like the term or not. This sounds like Skinny Puppy more than it sounds like TG so that is relevant to this video. Your pedantic commentary of industrial history isn't.
Where the hell is the good ol American metal these days?

The only original japanese bands that I've come across were the pioneers of vKei and Aliene Ma'riage (which you either love or hate)

@SaffronsGhost They're generally considered "Post-Industrial", but listen to VIVIsectVI, that album was very industrial.
