@TittyTittyBangBangXX No, don't have anything against americans, but generally they got something against F1, just because there is a stupid rivality between their autosport and european autosport
Brundle is a legend, hugely underrated driver who deserved a few wins under is belt, has astonishing in-depth knowladge about F1, and is far and way the best commentator ive ever personally listen to. He has an brilliant tallent at making things intresting for people, he could talk about watchin paint dry and he couldnt make it intresting.
The commentator, Simon Taylor, now makes a living interviewing ex-drivers and racing personalities for Motor Sport Magazine. He gets a good pay cheque and ritzy lunches out of that cushy deal. I'll have some of that, thank you very much! :-)
now the bahrain gp is cancelled , the first race in australia with its low dforce, moving wings and kers could b very tricky. bahrain turn 1 easy in comparison.
@schumiisking So what he was a great driver with a lot of experience and is an entertaining commentator. Coulthard never won a WDC and people like his driving. The same applies to R Schumacher, G Villeneuve, Sir Stirling Moss, etc
@MegaSparky555 I said G Villeneuve (Gilles). He was second in the 1979 championship and died in '82. He was Jaques' father. I know that Jaques won the '97 championship but Gilles didn't and is still regarded by many as the best ever.
@schumiisking He might not of won any races or that stuff, but he makes a great commentator! You couldn't be able to drive one of those V10 beasts, crash it then run back to the pits and get in another car with the risk you might do the same thing!!
@schumiisking - The guy is talented though. He challenged Ayrton Senna pretty hard for the 1983 British Formula 3 title he was better than Stefan Bellof in his Tyrrell days. He gave Schumacher a tough run for his money in 1992, won the 1988 Sportscar title AND Le Mans in 1990, which is only the single most prestigious race in all of history.
So yes, the guy is an expert, he does know what he's talking about and he has every right to be commentating as he makes more sense then anyone else.
@pmanngw And do what exactly? Swerve to the right, spearing into the Footwork and Minardi cars, most likely vaulting those 2 in exactly the same way, but instead heading towards a lovely dollop of catch-fencing and spectator seating?
Hold on, in fact, please tell me you're trying to be sarcastic, right? Otherwise, you've most likely achieved the worst use of hindsight I've seen in my life...
Martin Brundle was pretty much the best ever driver not to win a Grand Prix... Apparently Johnny Herbert said to him after the crash, baring in mind Brundle flew over his head at 150 mile an hour... "you could have waved.....!!" How cool is that!!
Just watched Mark Webber go airborne in the Valencia GP. Reminded me of this incident - I'm surprised Martin Brundle didn't comment on the fact that he'd had a similar experience. Both Brundle and Webber must've been terrified in those moments.
the entire chassis was cracked in half after the crash, its amazing he didnt damage his spine, brundle is a lucky guy remember his crash in monaco he was hanging out of the car!
it depends where the impact is located. i've seen many (unlucky) drivers who have died because they hit their head somewhere against something (walls, tires, guardrails etc).
they didnt havethe probs with traction that modern cars have, the cars then where wide track but they were changed to narrow track bout 98 onwards, also the slicks were much bigger and grooveless before 98 too, nice to see slicks back but a return to pre-98 construction rules would be nice
This crash is what made me a lifelong admirer of Brundle. The speed of impact, the look back at the car,and the run back to the spare car. This guy is VC material if ever you saw one.Fucking magnificent example to all men.
Got to hand it to Brundle, he overtook about 5 cars with no wheels on the ground! If memory serves i think he ran back to pits and jumped in the spare car to finish the race
Haha. You know he overtook them only because this was at a corner and the others had to slow down. Brundle is crashing, gets airborne and it's impossible to brake, so of course he flies by the others :D
And the man that sent him into that barrel roll is now his co commentator :)

What does this accident have in common with Senna's and Ratzenberger's?
Accidents with rollovers are less dangerous, because the energy of the impact is smaller!
