Just listened to the audiobook and I loved it! But just to be clear: Ms. Sidley has schizophrenia and imagined all the demonic possessions, right? All in her head?

The way King writes it it is open to interpretation. I read the story many times in pre-production and saw it both ways before deciding on a path for the short. Thanks for watching.

@trabuco9 The short story doesn't quite spell out exactly what it the kids become just what happens in the change. Based on the characteristics King describes you can extrapolate what you thing they are alien, demon or other. That like the ending is open to interpretation.

I like the simplicity of this trailer. It reminds me of the trailer for the original Wicker man.

This is what drives me crazy when Stephen King makes these "dollar babies". He always uses his best stories for them and they're never available to the general public. This was one of my favorite stories from N&D and I can't even see it! >:(

I agree that as a viewer the lack of availability is frustrating, however, let me just clarify that Mr. King grants these

rights to filmmakers but is not involved in the production beyond approving the director and the project. I was extremely honored that he gave me permission to do this film. it was a wonderful experience. The "Dollar Baby" is a great idea that he started and other established writers should follow suit.

What I meant was that he greenlights these projects, shows them at a film festival and then basically throws a gag order on them. I agree with whoever said it's like painting the Mona Lisa, have only a handful of people view it and then sealing it in a vault. No offense, but I sincerely hope the "Dollar Baby" doesn't become something other writers will adopt. Great as a creative outlet for writers and filmmakers, sucks for viewers who what to see them, but can't get to a film festival.

While I get where your coming from. It is great for filmmakers to have on their reel and has helped me a lot and I do hope other writers adopt this sort of a program because the financial reality of trying to acquire unrestricted rights to any work of fiction is staggering. Stephen King has always allowed and created avenues for advancement for artists and while I appreciate the praise the trailer has gotten I respect his wishes and thank him for the opportunity he allowed me.

It is a shame that you cant show this to anyone. It's kinda like putting the Mona Lisa in an underground vault. This is one of my favorite stories from Nightmares and Dreamscapes. I would like to see a bigger budget adaption sometime.

@TheLouisbyrne I think the contract does spell out distribution and sites have been given a cease & desist for posting dollar babies in their entirety. Regardless, even if what you say is true, I'd have to check the agreement, it is a loophole that I feel is not in keeping with the spirit of the accord reached with King so I would not post my version of this story in its entirety due to that. Even if I could I wouldn't use YouTube because my film runs 19m 35 sec and I can't upload over 10 min.
