While there are police that do abuse their power, there are cases where they are justified in using lawful control. Those cases are justified by the use of force model. Take this model into consideration before accusing an officer of using excessive force.

Look, I dislike cops and cop apologists as much as the next person. But that clip you put in at the end is wrong. That woman was and is an IDIOT. She drove for several miles while the cop had his sirens and lights on because she thought he was a fake who was going to jack her car. This guy definitely brings some valid points about systemic corruption and abuse within the police force, but I think we have to look at it in the grand scheme, and especially in comparison to the level of corruption of the police forces of other countries. Overall, the police force has been a force of good, despite its serious problems. I think it would be a stretch to consider otherwise.

Well aren't you lucky. I've dealt with the police dozens of times, including police corruption and police brutality, I've dealt with good cops... twice. You know what you can do when police lie, or physically abuse you without a video of it? Not a damn thing.
I don't want police to have a tenth of the power and immunity to the law they have right now.
I like shaving my head and lived in SoCal for a while, that's the reason behind most of them, got profiled. When I was younger, had a neighbor who was extremely rude, aggressive, killed a few of our pets, came over to our house with a loaded gun threatening us ect... but since he was friends with the cops, we were the ones to get warnings and charged with disturbing the peace if we raised our voice at him.

Yah, I just got a ticket for a "California roll". There was like nobody fucking around, and it was late at night. I thought I stopped, but I didn't completely stop according to them. There are bad apples for example here in my state last summer we had 10 police officers get in trouble. judinging the entire population of the force, out of 1700, is not logical.

I fit into this category and I am not sorry. the FBI investigates cases of Color of Law where police abuse their power. an Article was put out about 3 years ago saying they received 10,000 or more reports of color of law violations and over 50%, not an exact number was given, were not guilty of anything. There are bad apples for example here in my state last summer we had 10 police officers get in trouble. judinging the entire population of the force, out of 1700, is not logical.

I ran a squad my 3rd year, but found out I liked running the chainsaw later that summer with the BD crew; I've cut line, I've held line, I've cut hot line and mopped up. I've been hit by a phos chek drop, and once I was even incident commander for about 8 minutes. But I've never been burned over.
