you can have garmin on it now..I dont have link just make google a little you will find it..I put garmin today all works fine i put vibra detection so if i get out of way it starts to vibrate i do my walk to school blnd..;)

i have this phone and just put treckbuddy on it but i cant figure out how to stop the screen from going dim after every few seconds and stay lit for the whole trip

The GPS is a 100% free if you use apps like trekbuddy and mobile Gmaps.

no its not free since it uses assisted gps with no option to turn it off

u can easely turn it off. atleast on my phone in norway. just go under "poisoning center" and then "preferences" then you go to "quicker calculation". then you turn that off...

I download the maps for into my pc first, then i transfer them over. This is 100% free.

But if u do this you don't get navigation out of the blue.

BUT, you can presave your routes(make waypoints on your pc), and then it has a good enought navigation(for me).

I suggest you go on the trekbuddy forums and search alround for guide's, it's a lot of good guide's there.

sorry i was misinformed by the stupid people working at se. no need for internet connection to use gps.

u can turn assisted gps off and use the normal gps function free but in order to use it with a map you must download and install a program like treck buddy and then download the maps u want onto your phone. i havent had much time playing around with it but the gps is pretty acurate

defo get the c702. i got mine yesterday and its one of the best sony's to date. i think its better and more robust than the c902. and the pictures are great no matter what people say. you just gotta know what settings to use :) i used the k850 but got pissed off using the temperamental touch buttons and the thickness of it in my pocket was not the best.lol

The tracker application is free, uses only GPS.

but both googlemaps and wayfinder only works width data connection.
