Saw them tonight in my hometown which is also their hometown.... REGINA SASKATCHEWAN CANADA!!!! They played Scattering of Ashes the entire way through, then some others!!
It's a shame that I can only find these bootleg copies of live footage from their shows on here. Also, I wish I could find a video of them playing at a large venue where they could get a sound guy. There are a lot of parts in this song that I can't hear in the video, but hey, what can I expect.
I'm not talking about the fans. I have a dvd of Gigantour when they were on it, they played "Severe Emotional Distress" and he would screw up the backing vocals so bad during the chorus.
Yeah, I'm a musician and understand the theory of harmonizing notes using 3'rds, 5'ths and octaves. The point is that Tim Roth sings off-tone a lot of the time. I have a DVD where they play "Severe Emotional Distress" (that is there worst song but whatever) and during the chorus Tim was singing so off-tone it sounded like shit.
i think hes doing really great vocals, besides those parts where he really reaches to the high part of his vocal range. Even then, its a very good performance imo
i think the horrible singing during the chorus is a near by fan trying to sing. i can hear a voice that's singing in key during the chorus and it sound's like stu's voice.
Anybodies vocals would be wrecked after singing an entire show like that...You really can't blame the poor guy. I have seen them play this song live before in the beginning of a show and everything was on key. They must have been closing out the show with one after a long night. They still are an awesome band. \m/
dude the guys gonna blow his voice... did you hear that falsetto there in the beginning?! holy shit i thought my chords were gonna snap just by watching that! my neck actually hurts by listening to him... oof!
theres a bunch of vids from this same show in san antonio...it was a rough one. stu ended up puking mid set and continued on to finish the show. not every show can be gold i guess.
Actually Stu sings the harmony during the chorus and Tim sings the root. Obviously there is a tone deaf fan that is singing simultaneously which makes it sound worse than it is. They still rule
he was off that night because he had a hangover. in the later songs from that set (which i will upload soon), he sings spot on. this is after he threw up, of course.

I don't think Tim Roth should do the backing vocals, just to be honest. He's always off pitch and it ruins it.

yeah, everyone sucks compared to stu, he shouldnt have backup

i think its just a fan singing along lol

dude
Tim Roth is the best singer I can think of to do backing vocals with him
they're not meant to be at the same pitch, they're at different pitches to make it sound cool

the Tim Roth thing was aimed at BloodReverse

Guys, I can hear Stu, he's doing it perfectly. There are people in the crowd singing along.
BloodReverence 3 years ago
the cracks a bit on the really high falsetto, but i mean these are notes that guys shouldn't be able to hit even in falsetto
Huzzagh 2 years ago
One of the best Canadian bands

look at that fool that limply gave the metal horns at the begining

Tim Roth is even better live, most guitarist live would mess up, or be sloppy on their arpeggios but he shows excellence

I saw this band open for dream theater, and I can tell you that the singer Stu is amazing live. Everybody has off nights...

No he's not. He's getting better at singing and his growls/screams. You may think it hurts but it's perfectly natural to him.
