Main problem I have with stronghold is that its so much fun defending your castle, shitloads of archers and those tar patches, then watch the opponent go poof, but to be the attacker is..... frustrating and really really hard

Didn't care for this version of stronghold at all, the graphics are horrible and gameplay is fair. The only one worth playing so far is Legends and it didn't have enough to do. Guess I'll wait for Stronghold 3 to release this month, see how that one is. hmph*

Firefly just to know i always loved Stronghold.I remember when first one came.It was so awesome and then Crusader is great sequel to the original i loved it too :).Stronghold 2 for me was great buti dont know about Stronghold Legends...I didnt liked that game so much because it was compleatly difrent game from original and just big fantasy....And now i play kingdoms and wont stop untilstronghold 3 dont come :).Keep up good work Firefly :D

@Basbeeky Alot of negativity. I understand both sides of this argument. I haven't really touched the game (beta or no) but i hope you can rotate the view. This vid makes me think it has only one camera angle, as if your playing Ultima Online. Which would sort of suck, having a only one fixed view. I hope this not the case. As for graphics, I like to see beautification but as an MMO, its hard to upkeep servers on high demand of players, objects, mobiles, etc. in the game. Go to WoW instead, dude.

But then you find out there are people who pillage you and capture your villages and you're shocked to reality. And once you hit reality, things like banquets, gardens, statues, and overfeeding your population get quite boring. ;)

Well i'm playing the game at the moment .. and i think's it's fun :) It's not browser based..and u could leave ur village alone for like 2-3 days but if u leave it like so a long time it will become abandoned and .. well u know what would happen.. what you want is the game mechanics of Crusader with the graphics from Stronghold 2 - crusader was so much better than 2... oh yeah and the villages thing sounds cool, but i'd also like to know if you can leave the game a few days and not worry about your village being burned - it would be pretty annoying to return to find all your wenches raped and pillaged...

I have only 1 question (I wsn't lucky enough to paticipate in testing) - ho much things in this game depend on your time in-game? I mean do player have to be online as much as he can to get his kingdom\village developed? Will I find my village burned to 0 if I stay offline for, say, 3 days? Or your village shows up on global map only when you're online?

This somehow reminds me online browser game "travian", which has a lot of 20h\day playing ppl who automatically are more successful.

There is still only a big flaw in this game: the battles.

Awful animations, and too fast paced.

I used to play evony, after about a week i quit though. I obviously didn't want to spend 8 hours on it a day.

However, some people DID spend about 8 hours on it a day, so after my 7 days protection was up, and id only spent about half an hour a day or whatever, my castle was raided and captured after 1 day.

Will Stronghold kingdoms be similar to that.

I only ask because im a massive stronghold fan, and if its like evony it will be disappointing.

@Cooper9309 I am playing this so far 7 day (3days of protection) , enemy never attack you without any reason . Because you are ruled by your capital master , if someone attacks you it means it declares war to everyone in your captain or something like that . But there is AI enemy , they attack you like once a week and they aren't very strong , its really awesome game , I am so addicted to it ! :)

I have Stronghold 1 and I gotta hand it to FireFly Worlds, they know how to make a game with atmosphere. The dry British humor was not lost on this American and self-professed Anglophile and that made the game that much better,

Ive been a massive stronghold fan for years, I loved crusader and stronghold 1 especially, stronghold 2 was a flop, i didnt like the graphics, but new units where interesting. If you want a good tip from a stronghold veteran, try and make the graphics like the original ones where, not saying use the same engine, keep to the orginal theme, the castle models in stronghold 2 where cool, but the units and etc looks so flimsy, they where coloured too brightly, it just didnt FEEL like stronghold.
