  • Jarvis come back and blow away all of the bland mediocrity that is the 2010 indie UK muzak scene

  • his hair!! I want that cut har!!

  • Ye Thebuirningfestival... Jarvis Cocker thinks he's GOD or a reincanate of real talent like Tony Wilson....Cocker's a knobjockey who thinks he's the "voice" and would never have behaved like an arsehole around a british act like Oasis

  • @selecktabo I cannot express how much of a cunt I think you are

  • wtf @selecktabo and @TheSunnyday64 , jarvis cocker isnt racist and he isnt jelous, he did what he did in 1996 because he didnt like the fact that michael jackson acting like god, it was a protest not a "look at me im so spiecal" he knows that hes not popular as micael jackson and i wonder why he has such left wing and fielded influences, provocation was the thing in the 90s amongst britpop aritists such as brett anderson and menswear, get your facts right

  • Intelligent ,reasonable and eccentric.Glad to listen to you Jarvis.

  • Ahh martydom, I see.

Oh dear the thumb bandits are back, those dissaproving thumbs haunt my dreams!

  • hahaha so this video is another home for the MJ argument... shame Jarvis has to be associated with Jackson, its like somebody talking about dog shit whenever you try to eat a lovely chocolate fudge cake

  • Okay perhaps I ought to say here too - we're NOT MJ 'haters', I don't hate the ol' harpy, we just think he's overrated and overhyped, and we hate the way his obsessive fans attack poor ol' Jarvy Cocker! Anything I say with regards to Jacko in a negative sense is mostly in jest (altho we're not fans, obviously!)

There's a difference and there is such a thing as CONTEXT, you get me? I think most of you could do with lightening up a bit (and put A SMIIILE on that face!!!)

    Bye bye!

  • I guess I shouldn't bother arguing. Nobody ever wins anyway. I'll just say, 'yeah, you're absolutely right' and leave it at that.

  • He could not ruin the performance. He wanted promotion for his "new" album, which was published shortly after the event.

He is a jealous freak who has no own ideas. His work is provocation, that's not new. We destroyed enough, yesterday. This is the time to find solutions.

  • you really are a tosser

  • why are you all being so snobby? your opinions are subjective. he 'ruined' a Michael Jackson concert because he didn't agree with MJ portraying himself as some sort of Jesus figure. who has the right to judge what is and what isn't talent? nobody, that's who.

  • hey flossy -did you hear the program - was actually quite good in my opinion 5* to Radio 4 forproviding something a bit alternative - by the way this discussion has nothing to do with Michael Jackson

  • Man, why are you fighting all the time: Now it's time for LOVE. Bye! And good night. (TheZanbarBone)

  • Does anyone know where I can watch this interview?

  • Jarvis Cocker....Thought youd have joined the BNP by now.....since yu have issues with black performers.....

  • @selecktabo "issues with black performers?"

  • @selecktabo .Do you honestly think that the fact he went on stage and wiggled his ass during Jackson's performance was because Jackson was black?

  • You worship a popstar? How apt!

  • Is drinking an artform?

  • I have never heard one song by Pulp or by Jarvis Cocker. And he thinks MJ is full of himself...

  • IMO, being a public drunk is embarrassing, not artistic, particularly if the art that comes to mind during the drunkenness is to destroy what another has made, as opposed to create something better. The only thing I have ever heard of Jarvis Cocker is that he tried to ruin an MJ concert. Maybe he also does interesting things, but clearly not so interesting as to overshadow this drunkenness. But to each his own.

  • The fact you only know THAT much about Jarvis Cocker damages any credibility you had in this whole thread. And if you hate drunk musicians, you'd better dispose of your entire music collection, mate.

Sorry folks, the world don't end with one commercially successful, Messianic pop star whose closest thing to a political statement was singing Earth Song surrounded by kiddies.

Let's open our minds a bit here. Yes, Michael Jackson was talented, and a commercial success, but there's more to music.

  • Agree, the world does not end with one artist. Î was actually not comparing Cocker to Michael Jackson, and don' t think my opinion about MJ is really relevant. I just don't find destroying things to be creative. Anyway, not looking for credibility here: I have this opinion based on trial and error experience, not threads. Doesn't matter. If you like Cocker, that's your prerogative.

  • The thing is, he's not expressing himself as an artist.

usually, when an artist sees something, movie, song, anything that is really irratting him, he just reacts, yes, but with a song, another movie, something with mind, art, ...

Showing your ass is nothing smart or artistic or classy.

He's so common, boooring. And rude!

  • and I really liked some of his song, "Black Magic" is on my Ipod all the time, so you can't judge my comment on the base I would be a fan of Mj

  • I just don't find destroying things to be creative

yep thats what mj did, destroyed himself.

  • He's Britpop. What do you expect, class and manners?! LOL! (and that is not meant to offend, I love britpop)

  • type 'drew schofield contenders' into you tube watch and enjoy funny funny

  • One of my dad's cousins is jarvis cocker, and i'm not lying. i am so lucky :)

  • Please Jarvis come back again to Monterrey Mexico.

  • you are hardcore (8),,

    I love you jarvis (L)

i really really really hope that Jarvis comes back again soon

    to Monterrey Mexico :(

    :)

  • His words are wise. His face is beard.

  • his style is gainsbourg, his singing is walker, his beard is tinged with grey and his glasses are mucky!

  • Wise Beard Jarv.

  • wOOOOOOOOOOOO JARVIS COCKER!!! WOOOOOOOOOO

  • HELP THE AGED

Jarv, why are you trying to look 60, you are 45? Cut your hair and get rid of this grey beard!!!

  • cocaine is a hell of a drug

  • i wish jarvis cocker was my father

  • jarvis has gone mad...i love it :D

  • I love beards, and Jarvis' is a nice one, but we're spoiled already knowing what he looks like sans beard, and this is quite a change for us. But he seems to think he's old (he isn't), so maybe the beard must go along with his mental state at the moment. I don't mind it that much. And I was actually listening to what he was saying. XD

  • of course he's got a beard now everything hes saying speaks to the utter wisdom he holds, the beard is just letting it all come out.

  • is it me or jarvis's beard that makes me think how old actually this always young dandy is?!

  • How can anyone age so much just within a few years...

  • Easy. They grow a beard.

He still looks damn good, all youthful good looks under the face fuzz :)

  • I think people forget that Jarv was decidedly in his 30s when Pulp's most famous stuff was released... 15 years ago...

  • he was about 28-32 when their most famous stuff was coming out, but he always looked abit younger. its just cause the beard, and his attitude thats making him look abit older than he actually is. I think if he really tried he could look very similar to how he did 15 years ago, his face hasn't aged etc.. just his "look"

  • He may have a slightly monotonal voice, but what he has to say is very enlightening and worth respecting at least!

  • the beard times anrt too good for me. Shame because hes amazing <3

  • How Jarvis offends anyone is a mystery to me!

  • Ignorance!

  • Thanks for the enlighenment.

I don't dislike him he is a better singer than a talker, which is like a hair dryer on low heat.

  • I love Jarvis but a BEARD?!?!

  • First Rating

  • GET A LIFE YOU SAD LITTLE BOY.

    And spell your name right.

  • Get a life yourself, bully.

  • Bully?

  • 'GET A LIFE YOU SAD LITTLE BOY.

    And spell your name right.'

It's hardly a nice thing to say to a 13 year old..

  • A) I'm fourteen. It's not like I'm a forty-four year old.

    B) Do you have any idea how sad these people must be to go around saying, not only 'FIRST COMMENT/VIEW' but 'first rate'? Any idea at all?
