I once had a laser disc with this song on a disc of music videos. The video for this is quite nice and I wish I hadn't sold the player and all the disc. There were some other great music videos on it like "She's No There," and one with leads from groups like Felix from The Rascals, Darlene Love and others singing "We Go Way Back." Honestly though there is still good music today, you just have to look for it. This song was written by Graham Gouldman who played bass and was one of the singers in 10cc. He also wrote "For Your Love" that The Yardbirds made famous. He was in neither band, just a song writer and studio musician in those days. His 10cc band mate, Eric Stewart, was in The Mindbenders who did "A Groovey Kind of Love" and "The Game of Love".

He's not "stalking" her...she likes him, he adores her, they become a couple. Nothing creepy about that. It's a song about the initial stirrings of love and the line about their names being the same is just the boy's declaration of his undying love for the girl.
