  • now listen to 'Things We Said Today' by The Beatles :)

  • 35 people thought that Rebecca black would be waiting at the bus stop waiting for her friends

  • I am 8 years old, but i can sing this song very well. my mother and i used to sing this song together.

  • 35 people must have caught the all stops bus service!.

  • Hey!-Luvin' the pics of the old-fashioned city buses! Song reminds me, always, of my Mum & 1st father. She, often played this song on her floor model record player. It's 2012, & now I'm 42. What a nostalgic blessing of a memory, because you posted all this! Thanx SO much. =D Greetings to all, from Eastern Canada..

  • I still adore my father's story of why he loves this song... the story of a 15 year old for the first time alone in London in 1967.

  • @ScorpiiBuscemi1822 -THAT sounds incredibly special! =D

  • 36 people rode the short bus.

  • 0:54 - 1:06 who are those girls?

  • 36 people were given orders to blow up the bus. They've been around back taking turns at the tailpipe ever since.

  • i would like to rewrite this song to describe my first meeting with juliet-- (TRUE STORY)... "back porch, sun-scorched, drunk as fuck, stepped out for some air... saw a private investigator, investigating there... came the UPS man, and delivered me a sword... nice to think how that katana led to our first words...".................. yeah, my wife is a PI, and a sword really did bring us together... love is such a wonderful thing.

  • you just can't recapture the innocence of that era...

  • 36 people missed the bus. I caught it with Marilyn in 1968. I adore my wife.

  • The bus stop was a magical place....

  • scrappyduke,

I know what you mean....turn table, LOL....

  • If we could all be so lucky to meet the love of our life at the bus stop!! Lucky!! :D

  • 36 people have a car, and don't need the bus!

  • It makes me smile when I hear a young kid call a record player a turn table.

  • Good art doesn't gets older. I live in Brazil.

  • what?

  • Thankyou,a truly great British band singing a great song, written of course by Graham Gouldman

of 10cc.The Hollies should always be known as one of the best ever singles groups, some of the all time great songs.

  • The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Byrds, AND The Hollies had the most prolific vocal harmonies ever recorded....nuff said....

  • @steleta9 Jan and Dean better than the beachboys

  • @steleta9 Nice list, what about the zombies?

  • the girl at 2:30 is the most beautiful person i have ever seen

  • K-Pop; Shinee; Super junior; 2NE1; SNSD and all Korean shit songs are rubbish

Classic songs such as from The Beatles, The Hollies and even 70s to 90s songs never go out of style!

Hyuun Joong ???? WTF? Fucking gay rubbish!

  • @Joniel120 ...indeed.....classic music still the best song...

  • Ann Elizabeth Parks, TJ '68 ,Clairton, Pa. Please reply . Time is getting short. Really do miss you. -Skip.

  • What you see today in music is a lot of polished, technologically enhanced stylistic decoration and no soul, or real substance. What you had in those days was a rough outward appearance, but a lot of soul, love, emotion, genuine artistry, and people who could still dream.

  • 34 people just missed the bus.

  • @whatsupwithJose fuck ive just got up, make that 35!

  • Loved this song when I loved Judy, she was my everything for a while but then she was gone forever! A Beautiful girl long lost! May God be with Her. 1966

    !

  • Marvelous, wonderful....I wish that men were really this romantic...

  • The Beatles can suck it. The Hollies are the original!

  • dont limit them to the 60" they had a few hits in the 70"s

  • Nice song though it does not hurt to remember that this song reminds very closely Beatles' "Things We Said Today" of 1964

  • Nothing like it.

  • WOW!!! how music sucks today this kind of music was the stuff.tell me im right

  • @TheSuperCRASHer absolutely right!

  • good song of the 60's !!

  • The sound of that time was so great, reminds me of something Lennon and McCartney would have wrote

  • @CliffieCharles ...because it sounds like 'things we said today'?

  • @kpanos ? no, because it has the sound of that time

  • Thumbs up if "9th Arhipilag" brought you here))))

  • Vivia yo en Lima por el 67 y esta cancion me hace recordar a una hembrita de nombre Alida que era Aeromoza de AeroPeru. Claro que ella hablaba ingles pero yo no entendia ni pajaros.

  • One of those evocative songs that brings back so many distant memories. I was living in Germany back then in 1966, thank you Deutchland for all those beautiful frauleins .....:0)

  • 32 people don't know good music!

  • I once had a laser disc with this song on a disc of music videos. The video for this is quite nice and I wish I hadn't sold the player and all the disc. There were some other great music videos on it like "She's No There," and one with leads from groups like Felix from The Rascals, Darlene Love and others singing "We Go Way Back." I'd sure like to get that on a DVD. Any one have any info on it?

  • Brings back memories.

  • great song

  • 2nd to the beatles if im not mistake ^_^

  • 1966, it was a rainy summer, at the bus stop

  • @jmsarltd yes, i can remember that day very well.

  • lovely rhythm and sound!

    x fin la encontre!!!

  • thumbs up grt video++++++++++++++++++++++

  • I was at school at the time - we thought this song was rude because an umbrella was slang for a condom. That umbrella we employed it - by august she was mine.

  • good

  • love this

  • Yes, The Hollies were probably much more musically talented than my beloved Beatles.

  • 愛 愛 傘

  • 'Someday my name and hers are going to be the same'

If only,im such a hopeless romantic

  • @BoomZzzZ

In Manchester, it's common for husband and wife to have always shared the same name

  • @armoredinnerjacket I'm from Manchester and not sure what you mean.Of course the wife takes the husbands surname,is this what you mean?

  • @BoomZzzZ me too brother. me too

  • the 31 people must Bieber fans.

  • @RGN07

OR have missed the bus or dont have an umbrela

  • @RGN07

OR have missed the bus or dont have an umbrela

  • graham gouldman also wrote "no milk today" for herman's hermits which sounds a lot like "bus stop"--shift between minor and major chords.

  • @CutieElric well said my friend!! You know, I wasn't born either when they released this tune, I will soon be 34 and you don't need to be an old or ageing person to appreciate good music. I hate (H-A-T-E) nowadays rubbish like Bieber, Rihanna, Gaga and so on. It simply makes me feel bad. These oldies, on the other hand, don't. So, that's the main reason why people like you, me and probably many others too, keep playing these golden oldies over and over again :-)

  • @mr867749

I was there, and I'm 60 now, keep romance alive, it still makes me feel good

  • @mr867749 well, not everyone my age listens to crappy mainstream music. im 15 and love this song. found it myself too. gotta enjoy good music.

  • @mr867749 ....i remember when i was young, my dad had this red record turn tables and played this classic music over-and over again, brings back my childhood memories, when my dad meet my mom...@ the bus stop.....still one of my favorite music of them all...

  • @mr867749 I am in highschool, there is only a handful of people who appreciate this music. I love the oldies, I like to imagine sometimes I was born in the 50's or something. Honestly though there is still good music today, you just have to look for it. I agree with you on Bieber and Rihanna but Lady Gaga, although I am not a fan of hers, she has proven herself when she preforms with piano, or without that autotune crap. The "music industry" has just changed her.

  • real music right here

  • that song is a Classic

  • if you dont appreciate it,dont put it down idiot

  • This song was written by Graham Gouldman who played bass and was one of the singers in 10cc. He also wrote "For Your Love" that The Yardbirds made famous. He was in neither band, just a song writer and studio musician in those days. His 10cc band mate, Eric Stewart, was in The Mindbenders who did "A Groovey Kind of Love" and "The Game of Love".

  • A classicer, remains good

  • So great to hear, a wonderful sound, voices, so special the 60's still rock, the Hollies are the best!! Always a fan and thank you for gracing the planet with your music.... always remembered so fondly love and peace Raquel

  • This was a magical time which makes me so sad because I can't go back, so thank God we have the means to look back through time via a computer screen.

  • Saludos desde Chile, hermosa canción y ritmo con aires sesenteros, de esperaza, recuerdos y vida. La mejor década de música, de minifaldas y bohemia, muchas gracias por semejante regalo.

  • Great work, the magic of the 60's great life a lot of unforgettable memories including the songs of the other singers of the 60's like no other years. It brings back the youth of yesteryears!!!!!

  • Am radio 9 transistor .. very good memories...thanks.

  • Yeah! The British produced almost ALL of the good music, in my opinion.

  • BUS WANKERS (THE INBERTWEENERS) LOL

  • my mom played this song yesterday, I loved it so much I had to look it up for myself! Who says kids now days don't know good music when they hear it? I love this song, the beatles, and more oldies, and I'm only 12!

  • @CutieElric golly! never mind the beatles are the most popular band in the uk!

  • @CutieElric No-one gives a fuck how old you are.

  • @Bristlehoth Dude, I'm just proving my point that the hollies are still loved. You need some real help you you find yourself cool or funny for saying that nasty sentence to me.

  • @CutieElric Fine, the hollies are loved. Your age is irrelevant though, and nobody cares about it.

  • @Bristlehoth By adding my age I proved my point that not all kids have bad taste in music. Now to prove my next point, You are a jerk, OH WAIT, You already proved that for me ;D

  • @CutieElric GOLLY!! YOU'RE THE MUSICAL GENIUS PRETEEN WE'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR SINCE YOU HAVE A TASTE IN MUSIC THAT IS DIFFERENT FROM YOUR PRETEEN COUNTERPARTS!! no one cares.

  • @omgwtfbbqroflsauce And no one cares that you're a troll picking on kids ;P

  • @CutieElric Your Mom brought you up well !!!!!

  • @gronia Thanks :D

  • @CutieElric: You're 12, wow, HOW TRULY MEANINGFUL!!!

  • @ccmm53095 I can only hope that wasn't sarcasm.

  • @CutieElric: Hope is all you've got! You wanna see me post my age, and talk about how significant my music tastes are by virtue of my youth?

  • fun happy song!!!!!would love to have been around then!!!!!!!!

  • @TheDonnyDude The Hollies are from the UK, Buddy Holly was from Lubbock, TX in the USA and his group was called the Crickets.

  • @TheDonnyDude Shut the F up, Donny, you're out of your league.

    Love,

    -Walter

  • 30 people were forced to ride in the back

  • My absolute favorite of all time!!!!! Incredible

  • lol, the dj at the local goth club played this and I made the dance floor my bitch!! good stuff!

  • @TheDonnyDude --In jest a word--Nope. Kompleetly differaant bands {buuut both of 'em still gets the job done} Enjoy the ride, it's quiite'a trip! :))

  • Wow! This really gets a lot of airtime even now . . .

  • It'd make a sick single to have this as side A, and The Mama's And Papa's' "California dreamin'" on side B. Just a thought.

  • BUS WANKERS!!

  • @jlo2k9 Inbetweeners?

    haha nice ref

  • @nanabanana3893 hahaha YUPp! x

  • @jlo2k9 haha! I'm an american and i got the reference.

  • My big favourite all-time song from Hollies. It's pure magic!

  • I guess 28 people missed the bus.

  • @bridgebum826 funny..

  • @bridgebum826 Now it's 32 people. They didn't "miss" the bus... They rode the short bus.

  • They're not from America. You may be getting them confused with Herman's Hermits, who were'nt from America either but were extremely popular there.

The Hollies are from Mancester in the UK!!!

  • Que de souvenirs cette chason!! 1966 1967!!

  • I photographed The Hollies in 77. To see the shots go to 70srockphotos (.com)

  • @mrianmark So did Jim Marshall.

  • @DocEleven I have seen a lot of his work I just didn't know until now that they were taken by Jim Marshal. After your comment I watched some videos about him on Youtube. I didn't know that he took the famous shot of Johnny Cash. Thanks

  • The Hollies were the best thing to come out of the British Invasion, including the Beatles..

  • this song got me some ass from the bus stop, like this if that was you

  • this song... after all these years is still in my top 10...

  • nasal inhale

  • mmm pretty girl at 2.32

  • Question for 74sodapop - who are the women that are in the video montage? Is there some beautiful personal story here?

  • @42belvedere As an aside to your question, the women of that day were so much prettier than the tramp stamped, tongue studded, blue-hued hair freakettes of today. The forearms and saggy boob stamps are just so charming. Like wine, these trendy chicks will look so much better w/ age.

  • great song of the 60's !!

  • First song I ever dance to with a girl. Carne Wexford 1970. Wonderful song.

  • 1960s= best music of the 20th Century. Absolutely no doubt about it.

  • Beautful tune one of my parents favourites and i can see where there coming from, top draw xx.

  • Voilà le style des années 60 super.

  • Great song & lyrics!!!

  • great song

  • listening to this as we are on our computers in crystal clear clarity is how the artists, engineers and producers wanted it to sound

  • 5 decades and still this song is on more often in summer than whatever's at no 1.

Has to be doing something right.

  • I grew up when there was Beathes, Bee Gees, The Hollies, Herman's Hermits, PPM, Beach Boys, Chicago, Petula Clark, Lulu, Supremes, Tom Jones, Engelbert, ray conniff then Celine

  • i gotta say,as a dude the lyric,"someday, my name and hers, are going to be the same". sounds, a little too stalker like,ya know.. yeah,i love the song, but there are deranged guys, and some chicks, who, don't understand boundaries, very well. and, subtle suggestion, can always be a part, of the makeup, of a psycho. if nothing else,in the era of people "hooking up",and" friends with benefits",it's a very anachronistic, dated lyric.

  • @brainsareus MORON

  • @brainsareus ummm, I think you're off-base here, on a couple of different levels. First of all, in the song, the guy is just sitting at a bus stop. He's not "stalking" her...she likes him, he adores her, they become a couple. Nothing creepy about that. It's a song about the initial stirrings of love and the line about their names being the same is just the boy's declaration of his undying love for the girl.

  • @brainsareus When he says "my name and hers are going to be the same" he means that he wants to marry her, so that they share the same LAST name. Is that a little clearer?

  • @brainsareus Maybe you should write a strongly worded letter to Graham Gouldman from 10CC who wrote the song and make a formal complaint...

On second thought, try and make an effort to understand the lyrics first...sheesh!

  • The Zombies too!

  • Check out Buffalo Springfield, The Beau Brummels, The Electric Prunes, The Cyrkle. Also you should try Pentangle and Fairport Convention. Amazing!!!

  • The best love song ever made!

  • there is an inverse proportion, on youtube: the prettier the song, the uglier the comment stream. seems as if, folk can't handle beauty ,and so, they engage a compulsion, to get into petty little pissing contests. any wonder, people still kill each other, over rank bullshit.

  • Oh yeah! Larry Craig's slimey butthole can sodomize ours when we put this song at FULL BLAST in an airport bathroom when waiting for our plane to arrive on the runway.

  • Can anyone tell me more of these awesome bands? I'm trying to find more of these awesome music like the eagles, led zeppelin, uriah heep, the hollies, zombies. Please help me with my epic quest ..

  • @Niek67 quit bitching.

  • @XXActionJackson what the fuck are you talking about?

  • @Niek67 I dont care about your epic quest bitch.

  • @XXActionJackson Well, in that case, why the heck did you reply on my comment then. Iff I wanted someone to act like a dickhead to me I would have said that in my comment. So now you can go fuck yourself. off you go.

  • @Niek67 hey, instead of being a dick like that other guy, I'd recommend Jefferson Airplane, HP Lovecraft (specifically "At the mountains of madness"), King Crimson (check out "I Talk to the wind" and "the court of the crimson king", Country Joe & the Fish ("Grace" and "Bass Strings" are great), the grateful dead, and you might like Gong. Yup :) I think all of those are really awesome and fit well enough into the category :D

  • This great music reminds me of my high school sweetheart, who died 2 years ago, she was 59 , a stroke, reminds me of drive inn movies and good times, I miss her ...

  • this song deserves to be on scooby doo

  • Not only is the melody wonderful, and the vocals terrific, the LYRICS are great too!

  • Love this track by the Hollies, here's another tune from a relatively new band with a 60's song called Ambulance ltd. - track Ophelia, youtube.com/watch?v=tch35goCU90, enjoy
