@Forthelemon Actually in the pokedex, Mew is the 151st pokemon because it was unobtainable in the game (apart from glitch, hax, or events), whereas Mewtwo was obtainable in Cerulean cave after beating the Elite Four. And now you know. :)

I personally love all the pokemon games equally, but I'm from a more recent generation so I don't have as many memories with the original games. I still love this song, but I can't say I agree. Honestly just stopped watching Pokemon last year and i have been watching it from the beginning it just keeps dragging and seems so repetitive and it just seems to have lost that magic......same with the games too
See, I have played each of the different generations of pokémon, and I have no qualms with Black and White. Most people complain about the new pokémon and it being more complex with abilities and the extra peripherals that come with the games, but I like it. Black and white feel like its a call back to the original pokémon. Sure there is an Ice cream cone and a bag of garbage, but over all they feel more organic, compared to diamond and pearl. Besides, look at magnemite and voltorb, not animals.

Ah, this song made me nostalgia so hard on the old days when I used to play R/B/Y. I remember the first time I was able to play was when I traded Yoshi's Story for Yellow version.
Gen 1 was a classic but seriously, the flaws are there and the remakes to Red/Blue and Gold/Silver were simple and plain, when you're HONEST with yourself, far better. The game ends after beating the Elite Four. What fun is that?? Gen 2 with 16 badges AND Red?? Surpassed Gen 1. Emerald had an incredible story and was the best at the time. Platinum made a DEEP story boring as crap. Worst game imo. And Gen 5, really wasn't bad at all except needed more after beating the Elite. HG/SS is my fave.

I remember when I envied my friend so much for getting Pokemon Red, and getting loads of the Pokemon videos. Now, I don't envy my friends because they have Pokemon Black and Pokemon White. I said everything they added was good. The original games had incredibly broken gameplay mechanics and predictable Pokemon. The new games added more to the mix, new types, special abilities, and more variety. They also made the games look and sound much better, which is only a bonus. I seriously can't go back to the Red and Blue days without cringing at the absolute shitstorm those games were. Compared to even the average game today, Red and Blue are simply awful.

@MrTheNib I have Pokémon Black. It's just that this time around there weren't that many innovative pokémon designs either. The triple battle idea was okay, but it wasn't even really introduced until towards the end of the game and after that it wasn't frequently used. Pokemon Musicals don't have the same strategy & rewards as Pokémon Contests had. I still want a dolphin pokémon. An icecream cone one is okay but not as awesome. I beat the game in the first week it came out.
I can't believe some people are actually complaining about Genesect having a cannon on its back when the first generation had a Blastoise, turtle with two cannons on its back.
same with those who hate Trubbish for being a trashbag, but praise Grimer, a sludge with eyes.

@monkeymanisons Well, Unova is a region far away from the first 4, so they had to make a whole new ecosystem, starting with the basic animals like dogs, cats, bats, equines, etc, but using different species/races of said animals.
It's just like in real life, where you can find similar species in different countries, with some minor differences.
@Warufado People complain about Genesect having a canon? Hadn't people taken a look at Blastoise? At least Genesect canon is natural looking at some degree and it was explained that he was modified to be like like that while Blastoise has METALLIC CANONS with no explanation.

1998, I was 4, I woke up on Christmas morning excited because that was the day i got my first ever Gameboy colour. I didn't know what game I was getting, all I knew was that i was going to be one of the few kids at my school to have one of those badboys. After half an hour of tearing through a large pile of presents without success of finding my much awaited gameboy. I finally got to the gameboy and savoured the moment by staring at the box, it came with pokemon blue.

yeah i agree, the 16 gym badges, and the epic moment when you venture through that cave and fight red, who in the last gen was you, it defined my childhood. Oh and lance final battle music soundtrack from gold was the best track created of all time :P

All the comment amounts to is that each gen of pokemon are diffrent and like apples people dont always like one kind. Well yeah thats pretty obvious or people wouldnt be complaning? I guess your saying "well pokemon are pokemon" but if half dont like the product and half do unlike apples wich cost a small price its a £30-40 pound game, i would be pretty dispointed payingg 30£ for a green apple

Gen 1 was a classic but seriously, the flaws are there and the remakes to Red/Blue and Gold/Silver were simple and plain, when you're HONEST with yourself, far better. The game ends after beating the Elite Four. What fun is that?? Gen 2 with 16 badges AND Red?? Surpassed Gen 1. Emerald had an incredible story and was the best at the time. Platinum made a DEEP story boring as crap. Worst game imo. And Gen 5, really wasn't bad at all except needed more after beating the Elite. HG/SS is my fave.

I remember when I envied my friend so much for getting Pokemon Red, and getting loads of the Pokemon videos. Now, I don't envy my friends because they have Pokemon Black and Pokemon White. Some of the pokemon on that game just make me laugh because the design is so stupid and the names are completely absurd!

Blue, red and yellow were great and still is today.

They added new mechanics and moves and tools for improving the game. The pokemon are more stylized and different, the graphics and sound are obviously better, and there are infinitely more possibilities. You're complaining because nostalgia is clouding all possible judgment you could possibly have.

The original games had so many poor design choices and programming flaws, I can't believe there's actually someone who likes Gen 1 more than Gen 2

I said everything they added was good. The original games had incredibly broken gameplay mechanics and predictable Pokemon. The new games added more to the mix, new types, special abilities, and more variety. They also made the games look and sound much better, which is only a bonus. I seriously can't go back to the Red and Blue days without cringing at the absolute shitstorm those games were. Compared to even the average game today, Red and Blue are simply awful.

@MrTheNib I have Pokémon Black. It's just that this time around there weren't that many innovative pokémon designs either. The triple battle idea was okay, but it wasn't even really introduced until towards the end of the game and after that it wasn't frequently used. Pokemon Musicals don't have the same strategy & rewards as Pokémon Contests had. I still want a dolphin pokémon. An icecream cone one is okay but not as awesome. I beat the game in the first week it came out.

same with those who hate Trubbish for being a trashbag, but praise Grimer, a sludge with eyes.

@monkeymanisons Well, Unova is a region far away from the first 4, so they had to make a whole new ecosystem, starting with the basic animals like dogs, cats, bats, equines, etc, but using different species/races of said animals.
It's just like in real life, where you can find similar species in different countries, with some minor differences.

1998, I was 4, I woke up on Christmas morning excited because that was the day i got my first ever Gameboy colour. I didn't know what game I was getting, all I knew was that i was going to be one of the few kids at my school to have one of those badboys. After half an hour of tearing through a large pile of presents without success of finding my much awaited gameboy. I finally got to the gameboy and savoured the moment by staring at the box, it came with pokemon blue.

Ugh, as much as I like this song for it saying that Pokemon is a amazing childhood experience, why not just continue to play red/blue/yellow, instead of criticizing the other gens for ruining the experience for you? This song is possibly the best example of Nostalgia filter I have ever seen. My first game was Sapphire, and I loved it. I am 11 and i never got to play red or blue when i was little. The first pokemon game i ever played was diamond. Im so happy that my friend lent me her pokemon red and yellow. the original pokemon games are black and white, but they are really fun if you learn to appreciate them. :)
