  • Tyler is an amazing surfer and cool guy in the water. Sweet vid, do you have any more footage of him?

  • ripping!!

  • linha de surf maneira com essa retro fish

  • dude where was this?? the waves look fun! :)

  • hey, I'm getting a custom fish, and I don't know what size to get. I have experience on a 7'8" Fun board and I got quite good on it. I am 5'4" and weigh 105 roughly. The guy says since I don't have experience on a shorter board he's gonna make a 6'3" for me.

    Would this be fine?

    Thanks,

    Shane

  • this is how surfing should always look like on a shortboard. smooth transitions from cutback to snap to snap to pump to snap to spin. OMG i want to be that smooth!

  • Dont be fooled. This man is really small!

  • Please help me with this. I own a 5'10 quad fish 2 and a half inches thick. I don't know the best way to turn the board. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • hey buddy your board its awesome, you have to lean yout body and push on your foot trying to turn away I have one like yours its wonderful...

  • im currently ridin a 6'0 battail quad. what are the benefits with a fish tail?

  • im currently riding a 6'0 battail quad. what are some differences with a retro quad fish? versus a battail quad.

    mahalo

  • is this similar to the the "retro quad" by al merrick? merrick is not a swallow tail though

  • i don't even car about the board that much, bc that guy rips! I love that style he's working!

  • the song is in Taj Burrow's fair bits, and they are surfing fishes during it to!

  • so im trying to transition from a 7'6 fun board to a shortboard. iv been looking at retro fish boards. would a retro fish board be the best transition from a funboard? ill be surfing knee to head overhead. would a quad fin or twin fin be the best?

  • is this privates?

  • would you be able to send me the dimentoins of this board please?

  • Ugh i love sandbar. Rip it tyler

  • i don't know, that looks very similar in size to my 6ft quad fish.

  • nice : D

  • can anyone tell me please, where to get a board like that in australia? would a 7s superfish ride like that?

  • retro isnt four fins barneys!

  • correct

  • The 360 wrap-around at 0:31 was so effortless, i wish i could do them like that

  • i mean 0:34

  • Polished style similar to Tom Curren.

  • man ur heaps good sweet surfing

  • is there any chance you no were to by one of these in australia, NSW, sydney?

  • nice, nice. i'm considering buying a proctor quad fang...good choice? i have a 6'2" becker hornet and it really doesn't ride that well. i only paid $399 for the board brand new so i guess you get what you pay for...

  • I want some, want some

  • That looks like so much fun. Style, flow, and speed. Long racey rides.

  • chee heee! sick surfing; I want to get a twin-fish now...

  • what do quad fins do? im starting surfing properly now and kinda jus learning. im gettin a 6'2" - 6'6" Ripcurl Triple FCS fin shortboard. squash tail

  • quads build natural speed with the fin design. people argue it makes bad surfers think they are good :O

  • so im thinking about getting a Kane Garden 5'8" quad fish.....any thoughts on that?

  • i got a quad fish a while back it was pretty stiff to me and hard to get used too. i just recently got a Surftech 5'8 twin fin soul fish with carbon fiber fins. It ride SO well. i love it. I shred on little and big waves, i recomend it

  • hey watsup i have a 5'3 quad shaped by you its really sick. its so smooth and fast and is perfect for the sb and goleta conditions

    . nice job:)

  • i take it from all the animosity you guys haven't had any surf for a while? does anyone know who shaped the board he is riding?

  • como mierda haces hijo de buda!!!???

  • whos the fag in the spring suit double paddling at :30 sec

  • i love it when it looks like hes doing a cutback and then just turns right instead and continues on the wave...40-45 seconds in

  • @surfpoint90210 haha yeah, i love his style

  • @surfpoint90210 haha yeah, i love his style

and his surfing is nice and smooth

  • i am 6.2' 205 lbs. and i just bought a fish. its 6.0' and 21" in width and 2.35 thick. is this good? or should i try to get something else? i went from a 6.8" to this havent used the fish yet. what do you think?

  • that should be fine but of course youll never know until you try

  • well mate i surf and i recon that board is perfect for you it what you feel in the board and the wave.

  • it really is a great. it worked well and can't wait to take it out again

  • just wondering if anyone knows the exact make and dimensions of that wee quad..

  • where is this? what state?

  • california dumshit what did u think fuckin kansas

  • I don't know, maybe it could be Jersey, Main, OBX, New England, Texas Gulf, or liek you said california. and thats just in the US don't even get me started on caosta rica, bali or mexico. duh. I forgot that surfers only surfed in california.

  • alright dushe bag hes wearing a wetsuit its deffinitaly not costa rica, or bali u probly ride some shitty soft top and say u get shacked everyday and look at the information at the right it says at sandspit if u really surfed u would no this spot i surf here everyday its good and it says tyler anderson is from sb CALIFORNIA get ur shit together dumass

  • Im from new jersey, and surf Newport all the time, so its stupid to say that because he lives in CA he must be surfing CA.

It's "douche" not "dushe." And you call me a dumbass... wow.

It's not costa rica or bali, but you can still wear a wetsuit in Jersey, Maine, OBX, New England and California.

Sandpit its a beach point break. They did an article about it in the may issue of surfer, I'd pick it up if I were you.

Also, I would pick up a hooked on phonics book too, you "dushe" bag.

  • excactly he is from CA so obviosly it is CA and do u think i give the slightest shit how u spell "douche" bag and its not costa rica or bali so why did u say that in the first place dumshit are u autistic?? and dont u think ur takin it a little to far if u meorize what issue the sand spit thing is in u probly study shit like that and yes i have read it so fuck off and nice try with the joke u should take up stand up comedy

  • i guess winning an argument for you is like winning the special olympics, even if you think you win, you're still a retard.

  • thats really funny ya chapped cunt how about u go strap on a big blue dildo and have some dirty lesbian sex with ur lesbian friends then talk shit to me. then hayden cole u can think calling me a retard is bad ass but really ur just showing us all how big of a pussy u are

  • LOL FLAME WARS

  • That board looks really funny!!!

  • I wish I could surf like that!

  • just got a 5'10

  • no one cares ya fuckin fruit bag

  • how big is the board that the guy is using in the vid? and i just bought a 5'10 retro quad u think that wud work well?

  • if i ride a 6'0 shortsboard but i wana get a quad fish to add to my quiver should i get a 5'8 or a 5'10?

  • 5'8 but it depends on how big you are

  • I wont to surf thast with my quad fish :[

  • love this vid epic... just wondering whether a fish is a board i could start on? considering that i have experience in the surf on the boogs but not stand up.

  • depends what kind of waves your riding. i went from a 7 foot fun shape to a 5'7 quad fish pretty easily. they are more bouyant and nuggety than a normal shortboard, but loose and skatey. im only surfing waves from knee high to over head, otherwise, im filmin'

  • @boogernationBB your level of experience in the art of laying on a sponge square should not at all affect your decision on what size of surfboard to begin on. The whole reason beginners start on big boards is because they have to get up and its easier to balance on a bigger board. Your experience with a booger board will affect your ability to surf by very little or none at all, the hard part of surfing is the standing itself. Someone with no experience in butt boarding will surf just asgoodas u

  • isint that the homo song??

    meatspin . com

  • would you recommend a fish I have a 6'6 6'1 and a 9'1 and i was looking at fishes are they good boards

  • depends on what kind of waves you are surfing. but yes, they are epic

  • a fish was designed to make the small days fun......its very loose faster...easier to gain speed and fun as shit to use......just dont get an epoxy fish unless you surf at like 6 in the morning

  • Why not an epoxy fish unless at 6am?

  • how long is your fish

  • that isnt me, but i would guess 5'6-5'8

  • Not perfect song

  • perfect day perfect waves perfect board perfect rider....exellent

  • why is it not breaking like sandspit normally does. it looks all mushy. I mean come on. there is a longboarder out there

  • like every other spot in santa barbara, you must have the right swell size/direction, wind direction, tide, etc.

sandspit is best on a gigantic west swell, offshore winds, minus tide.

this swell wasnt good. nothing like big wednesday:

    /watch?v=gMg8P6kqSQk

  • that makes sense. but it still looks like a really fun wave right there.
