Quite possibly the best one minute and six seconds of my entire life. While most people claim the hair on their neck stands on end, in this case the very hairs withing my cochlea were standing on end.
I'm old enough to remember the original British Invasion (no...not the one at Boston Harbor). The jingle by Sonny Thrower and the other members of The Invaders have the sound down pat. It is reminiscent of the early Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and even Herman's Hermits. As I stated before, I'm also old enough to have been a regular patron of a number of authentic English pubs, and unless the proprietors are looking to draw more of a teeny-bopper clientel, this jingle is tops. 'Nuff said.
"It must include British invasion inspired music." That is taken directly from the C & G Jingle Rules (which have changed a lot, but still). Two of these guys are from the SIXTIES-INSPIRED House Band. They seem to please the crowds, so maybe Mr.Jesse Stu's understanding of the "target focus" (see below) is questionable.
Good Brit theme, and great Jimmy Stewart (from the first take). One criticism: the term gastropub came to exist in 1991 (see Crown & Goose Website) and the target focus is questionable for a 40-years-ago theme. I think both Russ Walker and Benjamin Bannister have a more current take -- today's British invasion comes by way of Radiohead and Coldplay.
Great Job Jim! It sounds great!
