@davec629 good luck with your employment situation! I play acoustic gigs every Friday and Saturday for tips and it took a little over 4 months but it was totally worth it. Watching other guitar players drool when I roll this rig in is priceless!! And the sounds coming out are amazing. I used pedals for overdrive. They have to have these cranked because it takes a while before they break up. I need an air brake!!
I have watched this video everyday for the last 4 months while saving my cash. Last Wednesday my dream came true when UPS stopped by with this exact set up. Black Maz 38 SR w/reverb and matching cab!! So happy!! Thanks DR Z!
@Haywiremusicchannel I hear ya! I've been laid off from work for a year and a half but if my next job comes through tomorrow, I'm getting a Z and a Tom Anderson Tele. Maybe not real soon but that's a goal. I had a black face vibrolux when I was 16 (1966 model) that sounded this good but being young and dumb thinking it wasn't loud enough, I traded it for a Peavey Deuce. Everybody needs a Forrest Gump moment in their lives.
I like the Z 38 better than the Z 38 NR, it seems like it is brighter, and has more twang, were as the NR is more rounded, which is nice, and some people will like that better, I like spank and twang on my tone, over rounded and thick, my HRDx was a rounded kind of clean, my sf bassman 100 is more chimey, but when U crank it, it gets very mid-range, the bassman is not the twangy kind of amp I normally go for, but it is more chimey than a HRDx, and has the boom when needed, love that amp
Unless those speaker cabs are built differently, the mics are on different speakers. How can you tell the difference between NR and regular when you're hearing one with a V30 and another with an H30?
