I think what it is about is to tell people not just the horrors of war, but that we should reflect and find ways to minimize the "collateral damages" of war. Afterall, the war has already commenced, it doesnt make much sense to wish it otherwise. I think regulations should be implemented as to what degree of "threat" is it then ok for soldiers to engage. Like make sure that the item the person was holding is definitely a weapon and that his actions does pose a threat to the soldiers.
I think this video is not about blaming the concept of war, but rather it's blaming the fact that the soldiers did not ensure that those that they were firing shots at were definitely threats to them, and therefore had to be engaged. On the other hand, it is arguable that the soldiers engaged since they were trained to eliminate threats, furthermore being in a situation of life and death, it's understandable that they'd rather be on the offensive than risk death.
Yeah we are such horrible people for liberating a country that was ruled by a madman who raped, killed, and destroyed his own country. He declared war on Iraq years before we stepped foot on his soil. I served in Iraq and 95% of all Iraqi civilians with no ties to terrorism want the US there because we are giving them hope something they didn't have under Saddam. I think what it is about is to tell people not just the horrors of war, but that we should reflect and find ways to minimize the "collateral damages" of war. Afterall, the war has already commenced, it doesnt make much sense to wish it otherwise. I think regulations should be implemented as to what degree of "threat" is it then ok for soldiers to engage. Like make sure that the item the person was holding is definitely a weapon and that his actions does pose a threat to the soldiers.

I think this video is not about blaming the concept of war, but rather it's blaming the fact that the soldiers did not ensure that those that they were firing shots at were definitely threats to them, and therefore had to be engaged. On the other hand, it is arguable that the soldiers engaged since they were trained to eliminate threats, furthermore being in a situation of life and death, it's understandable that they'd rather be on the offensive than risk death.

I don't know what they teach you americans in school, but to the outside world, comments like "XxAXE09xX's would be considered 100% foolish and ignorant. Secondly, this is far from the worst of all US military footage clips, when you have US soldiers killing people who touch short-range guns (while in a fuckin C130) and throwing animals off cliffs for fun, it's clear that they're not there because they are under the impression that they're making a difference.
