  • one of the best hip hop songs of all time hands down.... X100 ---- Super sickness

  • perfect example of real hip hop. fuck modern hip POP wackness. @dman, well said homie g, except your not diggin' deep enough if your estimating 30,000 as the avg. I'd say more like 20,000, and that's generous. Makes me sad to think the general public listens to the mainstream bs, however, it makes me feel great knowing I'm nothing like 'em.

  • this beat is just soooooo fresh!

soul is the basement of rap, of HIP-HOP, respect it, keep it!

  • top three hip hop.... this, souls of mischief and one self. out of the radar a bit... any suggestions??

  • i love this.

  • Great song. Anything Talib touches is gold.

  • @dman51590 badass words homie

  • so smooth....

  • Sick track, anyone know best way to get in touch with K. Starr ?

  • @mrconcept leave him a message on his youtube channel : starrstatusTV

  • Yo i would ask all you "lil wayne haters" to take a step back and remember lil wayne was just "underground", "unrecognized" and "unpopular" as y'all say Mr. Starr here is right now.Everyone starts somewhere. I think you guys forget it was Lil Wayne's real skills that kept him where he is right now, on every song you here about. Although it is understandable for everyone to want this genre of music to be represented by more than just Lil Wayne, cause it is more than just him.hwevr Starr's da sht

  • @MrKlik101 sorry man but lil wayne is shit, he has done nothing for hiphop. He's made a few Pop heads who like to act as if they are into hiphop happy but thats it, The only other people i see nodding to his music are 14 year old girls, I suspect you're one of the two groups i've mentioned. Never underground for one minute, and you think he represents it!!

  • @mrconcept Indeed my man, i have no idea what a "pop-head" is so i must represent the 14 yr old girls you mention. I have enough respect to realize you probably have your own "taste" in music like everyone does so I'll leave to wallow in your own decisions, but never forget, that it's me and my 14 yr ole mates that make ppl like Lil Wayne n Justin Beiber popular(and very rich) , so don't expect us to just lie down and die overnight. We decide our history. Happy huntin' to you sir ;)

  • @MrKlik101 thank you, i couldnt agree more, people dont undertand lil wayne atoll. cant say i do either but i dont just mindlessly hate on him as an artist or person., he put in his years in the underground and people waste to much time hating on lil wayne when they should be trying to unify hiphop so people who are only exposed to popular music can hear some of this more unpopular music.

  • @MrKlik101 Lil Wayne was never underground. He got put on with Juvy and all them back in the late 90s. He really sucked back then too. He didn't get good till 2004 ( his verse on T.I's urban legend was great) Then around 2008, when he came out with Lollipop and all that Best Rapper Alive bullshit, he lost a lot of respect. I'm not saying he doesn't put out entertaining music, but he doesn't even compare in terms of skill with people like Kenn Starr. I respect his hustle though.

  • @garybatesrsc 4 sure i can respect ur words man. u got a tone of conversation i can dig. I dont know too much about how lil wayne got his game started but he was "underground" (unrecognized to everyone but his die-hards) like everyone was at point. I find it interesting such as in Lil' Wayne' case fame has been detrimental to his fame. Not to say that "fame" shouldnt have some effect, becuase it does tend to change artists persective from "middle class" issues to "filthy rich braggarts".

  • @MrKlik101 lol I don't have a problem with the types of things that he raps about. The problem is that every idiot that thinks that he's the best rapper alive don't know a damn thing about rap.Mcing is an art (It's poetry with style) It's when all these kids are brainwashed into listening to trash and then they want to be rappers and we get our ,Tha Jokers,Gucci Manes, Lil Bs popping up everywhere rapping about "swag", but no substance. It's not the fame. Rakim,BDK,Jay,Em, Pac are famous as well.

  • @garybatesrsc damn see I've noticed that it IS what these "swag" rappers are rapping about that is the underlying problem that i think were both talking about. Its from these lyrics that are all about money n how its spent that you see evidence of a new "commercial rap" concerned only with money. different from original rap dealin wit social problems n other issues that made rap resonate with us poor folk in the first place. Money changes peoples' "bottom line".Ken starrs lyrics r original

  • how does Lil Wayne get mentioned in every underground hip hop youtube video?? New topic please.......................

  • check my favs for awesome music of all genres!

  • sick!

  • music is music, all mainstream is streamlined to be as catchy as possible and to support what big businesses want, no good message just what will make them the most money. Believe it, and that dems and repubs aren't going to do shit to fix it so 3rd party is the only way to go.

  • sick

  • @CnlPro....perfectly

  • A friend recommended me to listen to this. Dope song

  • omg my best friend is his cousin!

  • kto z Polski? :)

  • who the fuck is drake?

  • @julienjulster NOOOO!!!!!! Drake's something special listen to the resistence.... your comment should have been WHO THE FUCK IS LIL WAYNE? justsayin man you know !!!!

  • @julienjulster sorry i cant help you...never heard of him.....i can tell you who talib kweli is though.....

  • ESSENCE OF THE DOPENESS

  • Comment removed

  • damn. i forgot about this....BIG UP

memories..used to play this every time i woke up..made my day ...

If hip-hop got seasons, right now its spring ..Talib Kweli ...

  • nice shit ...peace from germany

  • I believe theres like 30000 average views for underground hop hop vids and what i think the 30000 of us have in common is the fact that we sit in front of the computer at night (jumping from vid to vid lookin for that one beat that will make all your problems disappear for a few min) ,hit that green goddess, then hit play and let that intellectual beat into our brain. I guess thats what separates us from mainstream zombies who just want to dry-hump random strangers in a club to souljaboy

  • @dman51590 damn yo... i couldnt have said that better. i dont get lifted no more, but i can relate to tryn to make my problems go away in a quick minute.

    stay up. miltown 414 GM

  • @dman51590 you're fucking right man , peace from antwerp

  • @dman51590 I couldn't have said it any better

  • @dman51590 That is a surprisingly accurate statement, well at least for me it is.

  • @dman51590 true words bro

  • @dman51590 very well put man. i'm always scouring the net in search for just that.

  • @dman51590 your on point bro

  • @dman51590 damn man very well put...

  • @dman51590 amen

  • @dman51590 ay man why do you have to put down cats who enjoy mainstream shit, my best friend listens to almost nothing but b.o.b, jay-z, kanye, and other lots of radio shit. he isnt a "mainstream zombie" he just listens to the music he feels and loves. He doesnt look to music for education, or soul searching like some of us, doesnt mean anythings wrong with him. The last thing hiphop needs is devisions and seperation. solja boy brings that energy that clubs need, thats his thing dont hate.

  • @samlittle94 that's not a very good example. b.o.b., jay-z, and kanye west are 3 out of maybe 7 of the artists on the radio right now who ARE in FACT lyrical. The only other one i can think of that you left out was Lupe Fiasco. Right now, in 2011 Lupe is considered Commercial/Mainstream but he is also extremely lyrical. The people that you named are still in it for the love of the art form that we call hip hop music. The problem isn't those 3 you named, the problem is the heathens and vultures.

  • @dman51590 wow couldnt have said it better myself ... thats exactly what i do just sit here at my computer for hours searching for music that articulates my emotions and knows me better than i know myself ... haha im glad theres more of me out there.

  • @dman51590 man are you watching me at night?! god bless you

  • @dman51590

    realest comment on youtube

  • @dman51590 i feel you, i also feel like generations are getting even dumber n dumber, and soon people will think what wayne says is relevant instead of just bobbing heads.

  • @ThaSubzstance nahh it aint the whole generation...im 16 and most of my friends listen to artists like common talib kweli murs or little brother

  • @leesthename word big ups to you den, i hope there are more like you. Check rakim, j cole n kendrick lamar out.

  • @dman51590 Holy crap.. Right now I'm listening to this stuff with a newly rolled spliff infront of me. I'm looking for good beats to get me through work tomorrow and this is just the stuff I'm looking for.. Heres a good swedish hip hop song : Ison & Fille feat. Petter - För alla dem

  • @Tonyklick i've heard of that guy. he's amazing, and if you ever look up the world according to rza, its his entire recording over almost all of europe with a bunch of dif artists. petter was one of em and it was pretty dope

  • @dman51590 the only reason i've ever wanted to know if youtube views count stack up if you watch a video over and over, is so i can know if theres actually just under 100,000 people who've listened to tthis amazing song and only 4 have hated it, or if really, we're a small band of 1000 men who just watched it 100 times each.

if one out of every 2 people likes or dislikes a video, you tell me?

  • One fool clicked the wrong button. Dislike this?! Are you a fool? Yes! Kenn Starr gets at it! Props!

  • killed it!i like how they talkin about the real shit goin down, let people actual stop and think about!

  • You can convert this to an mp3 at instantmp3s..com

  • Don't get mad. money does terrible things to great people.

I don't want that for my favorite artists.

  • Nice T-shirt.

  • Asheru smashed it

  • this beat focking hot

  • where has this been?

  • niggaz are scared of reveloution!!!!!

true BLACK HIP-HOP is the solution..

    hotep

  • i missed hip hop... i lost hip hop somewhere on the way and i'm glad that i found h.e.r. once more

  • I hate fake ass ninjas who say they know real true hip hop but the second you wanna talk about it the first thing they run to is LIL Wayne and I tell them "Dont feed me bullshit cuz Im not eatin it" People these days are so closed minded and thats why GOD!!!! made an Ipod so when you in the car you can listen to true music. O_oo_O NYC STAND UP

  • @Bunagaa

If god made an IPOD then he made this love for fake ass hip hop also, i doubt he would make either, only man can make retarded things such as that

  • @mon3ybagz lol well said

  • @Bunagaa luckily ive never heard someone say lil wayne and real or true hiphop in the same sentence. I can't even believe people would say that. I can see them saying they like lil wayne's shit but saying its true hiphop... thats almost impossible.

  • @Bunagaa It's a chain a shit bro, you got people that get on these videos and rag on lil wayne and then people that come and gun on those kids that bring up lil wayne and then people that call out people who be tryin to call out others. But really? Everybody chill the fuck out and listen to the music. SHIT.

  • @Bunagaa

thats soo true, generally 90% OF "HH" listeners, should go back to the roots, and analyze, take some conclusions what really is HH, and fo sure its not mainstream bullshit that bangs in da radio ....

  • Man people are just stupid and do what they are told. The industry dont want actual intellectual hiphop to resurface because that wouldnt fit with their agenda. They want to keep people stupid man its plain as day

  • the peeps that love radio wackness wouldn't be changed by the music we like anyway. they fake the conversion.. as soon as you out of the car, they bumpin that wack shit. as soon as you hop in the car, they turn on the shit you like.. it's like they know it, but refuse at heart

  • @fleetforcedoublef so tru dude some fake ass bitches in this world

  • If someone of you knows more songs with a beat like this please tell me. i love it

  • yup i do lynguistics by cunninglynguists, lock down - by grieves, sleepy head passion pit i know hella more but idk itd take a while haha

  • Damn this beat is....i cant explain it

  • Love this tune!

  • Kenn Starr, in my opinion, is probably the best rapper out right now. Shame he isn't gettin' the attention people give Lil' Wayne. Lil' Wayne ain't shit compared to Starr and Kweli.

  • Lil Wayne shouldnt even be classed as a Rapper. He is a killer of Hip Hop and Kenn Starr is the Saver of Hip Hop.

  • I agree with you 250%

  • im kind of greatfull

he isnt getting the attention lil wayne gets

    but sicckkk tunee.

  • Why not?

His music should be the shit that gets radio play, grammys, all the accolades that wack rappers like Wayne are getting. Theres too much music that is club based, we need real hip-hop to be played, by the likes of Kenn Starr, Talib Kweli, etc. There's plenty of good music, too bad it isn't getting any attention

  • becausee for me it wouldnt sound s great im glad its underground because underground tends to stay true

but i understand what your saying(:

  • Yeah I understand where you're comin' from too, but if mainstream hip-hop was like this, things would be much better...Bill O'Riely wouldn't hate as much lol

  • yo CnL, i feel you..but what i think is that, the radio should keep playin wack shit... that way, we can see easier who the trues are! whoever doesn't flock to the radio is pure... if music that we like were to blast on the radio all day, then we'd have fakes playin what's on the radio, jus cuz it's popular. seeing the true, selective heads is easier when the choice is theirs, and when the choice is not due to popularity!!!

  • but then again, i can take that back, and say that all of hip hop needs to unite. no separation between radio mainstream and indie / underground... not all radio music is garbage anyway, but for the most part it is. i just don't know what to suggest anymore.

  • @CnLPro real talk

  • @CnLPro

agreed Kenn Starr & Asheru are the best out IMO

  • @CnLPro no.....no...no........DOOM IS THE GREATEST RAPPER OF ALL TIME

  • @bigmatt2314 Not even close. He had something back in KMD and his early days, but he sold his ass cheap.

  • @CnLPro thats cos Lil Wayne has a better marketing scheme... makes me sick because he's a fucken fool! and people are too lazy to go and search for real music these days so they follow the crowds and watch whats on MTV and believe everything they hear is "real"

  • @CnLPro nah man one be lo illest right now imo

  • @CnLPro cuz we all know the underground music is ALWAYS the best :) Kenn Starr compared to lil wayne two thumbs WAYYY UP!

  • @CnLPro Best rapper out? I don't know about that, but your post was a year ago. I agree with everything else. Good music vs radio crap music. Radio wins all the time. It's a shame. Kenn Starr is better than the majority of todays mainstream music.

  • @skinnyJEANking2 There's no "best" rapper, it's all opinion, and in my opinion I think Kenn Starr IS the best rapper out

  • @CnLPro listenin to music and lyrics is too hard for most ppl. you gotta realize kid. People are dumb. Dumb as fuck, and that's not elitism. Its called the fucking truth. Wake the fuck up.

  • @SOSTacoJohnson word life. this song is legendary! the lyrics! the music! and all these years later this track is still fresh

  • @CnLPro Popularity is somthing you have to sacrafice when you make real shit. But all ya hip hop heads out their is who they make this music for.

  • @CnLPro

Kenn Starr and Lil gayne aint even in the same genre, Kenn is on that real hip hop flava shit, while lil gayne is on that garbage pop-rap-swag-justin beiber shit (literally shit)...

  • Sick joint, love it!!

    Asheru is truth

  • Yo, I'm slowly becoming a Kenn Starr Fan, man this dude dont get any play down here in the NC, but this dude is nice, how many albums does he have out?
