Brian tudor is astonishing in his speed, but imho he is very sloppy. Watch some of the cleanest XCM around and you will see. I am in no way saying he is bad, because that would be a lie lol. But compare his work with D&D or Jikh. Its kind of a trade off, speed or clean.
i think he is very good , but sometimes the way he performs can be very confusing for laymen, i think his main ideia is to impress magicians not " normal " people.
dudes a manic i think ud smack him in real life, he reminds or the dick heads out of karate kid. mad skills tho its not human is it, id still rather watch elmsley or paul harris
@PeteCardMagic Thank you! flourishes are supposed to be enjoyable to look at, and not just cards sloppily flying around in every direction. but the magic in heckler is way better than anything ive ever seen.
hes fast, we all can agree on that! but personaly, i dont like his attitude now adays. i liked him beter back when he first made his dvd's. I agree that he goes wayyyy to fast for card tricks, it seems that its choppy, but we all have our own styles! im sure a lot of you have seen his rants on his new dvd, and IMHO, he comes off as a jack ass, and not friendly,
why you people hate him so much? wtf has he ever done to u? maybe u bought his dvd and u dun like his teaching but so wat ! He is a perfectionist ! he is givin u material not spoon feeding u how to do it step by step like a fking baby !
Brian Tudor is incredible technically but he's an awful performer.
He's in my eyes a suped up David Blaine. David Blaine is OK technically but creates nothing new, he's no innovator and he's also a shit performer with no style or level of engagement other than his begging to be mysterious 'persona'.
Tudor on the other hand is an innovator, he's very much created a visual brand of magic unique to him but performance-wise he's pretty bad IMO.
David Blaine isn't an innovator? Is that why you didn't see anyone on T.V. doing magic on the street until David Blaine Street magic came on? And David Blaine created alot of things! He has his own force he does on the show and his trick, Strange Travelers, just to name a couple.
I think this guy is very skilled but am I the only one who thinks that he rushes a bit and his routine isn't as clean and probably more appealing to card mechanics as opposed to laymen. But even as a card mechanic I think he rushed through it a bit quick. Super skill but can slow down. too!
No question, Tudor's got top-level manipulation skills. I'd be thrilled if I could do 10% of what he can do, even 10% as smooth as he does it.
That said, I find Tudor's performances generally underwhelming. I can live without a story or other dramatic elements. But his stuff isn't surprising or deceptive. His passes, reverses, controls, palms, etc are plain as day, and his only "misdirection" seems to be to try to go so fast that the audience doesn't even know what's going on.
I think Tudor is a very skilled cardician...but...In my opinion he is moving toooooo fast...The audience can't keep up with this pace...I could do half of these sleights simply by just taking the card and placing it exactly where i want...At this speed noone would notice...Instead of performing a pass or a steal...If he did it slower it would be better...Cleaner..
fyi, there was no way in hell that those cuts and flourishes in the showoff routine where false and retained the entire order of the deck... i have the dvd and the routine is edited.
- The Creator of modern flourishing, and this style of magic. The Bucks, Daniel Madison, etc. use his material to create new material. And even that FOOL "De'vo Vom WHATEVER" , bitchass crap nigga , uses Tudor's stuff, and says Tudor is not good. LOL.
I got banned on ellusionist for starting a thread of flourishing, in which De'vo took a shot @ Bucks, Tudor, The e users and almost everyone, and we insulted him so bad lol.
Its really not that great. He's skilled and all that stuff but for spectators its overwhelming and they can't follow it AT ALL. You want them to otherwise what's the point?
@BennoSix this guy is skilled with his hands, but brilliant is a bit of a stretch. he performs routines that work from one angle with zero presentational value.
