Plenty of good pictures from S Africa without having to put in Kilamanjaro (Tanzania), Black panther and Tigers from Asia and S America. And all those snow mountains are the Himalayas or Alps. We dont have much snow .. Shoshaloza is a work song. Stimela means train. A song about the migrant miners going off to work in Johannesburg's gold minesn
@schari30 :) I dont blame anyone that has other taste than mine. Neither would I critisize them about the way they do it :)))) My brain-space is too precious to use it for analizing other ppl´s dislikes. There are lots of styles of music I dont like, so what? :) x
@Shougizgiz see my explanation above. It is from a hit musical called Iphi Thombe written and produced by two (white Jewish) South african ladies in the 1970s. Viva Mandela!

language, color, politics...these things don't matter with music. open your soul and let the music flow into you and you will feel more than you ever knew was possible.
Thank You, amidabuda, for posting this most beautiful rendition of Shosholoza by Ladysmith Black Mambazo. My Dad learned this song and enjoyed singing it with his friends while living in Africa. I was told it is a song they sing while working. It soothes and nurtures the soul, as the body gives sway. A National Treasure!
although im not african , i love the sites , the sounds, the music, the people, at the end of the day, WE are all one, its the mind that tricks us to believe that we are different cos of our skin colour, so believe in your heart :)
you know, it makes me sad to see this... Africa is such a beautiful continent, has such a rich history, damn it some say humans in their current form stem from Africa. yet it is such a tortured continent, so much war and poverty and misery going on, completely unnecessary, it would have everything it needs to support itself but greed and egoism and stupidity ruin it all just like at so many other places. Africa and the world would really be better off without humans. nature could blossom again.
Thanks guys, for all of your great comments. Just a little remark: when I wanted to upload the song I composed a little presentation to go with it from pictures I had on my PC, so dont take it personally, I know that masai, tigres, even some mountain views are not quite SouthAfrican, but please forgive me. I did what I could. :) Best wishes, A.

Not sure what pictures of Masai of Kenya are doing in this video of South African music. That would be like putting some Italians in a video of Scottish bagpipes.
@thandixox No i didn't hear this song in a Movie. I had the album of that band or i thought there where various traditional African artists on that CD, but i lost it.
I heard the song allot on Music channels like MTV and VH1 back in the day.

I know a song and the chorus goes like this ''Hey.. ey. oh.. hah.. hey. ha. ey. oha..'' nice african song with a good flow, unfortunately I don't know the group and the song name, if anyone understand what I'm trying to explain and maybe have a clue, please notify asap. I really love that song :)
@FernandoGALOSEMPRE Still looking for it, I heard the song a doesn't time when i was a kid back in the 90's, I still know the whole song but i don't know the band :(

NO its not a typical African melody, sining of course but not the melody. The melody is like the Lion King, hollywood music made for making europeans happy.
Listen to native African music, they dont sing like this usual, they dont like the melody im sure. I mean we europeans cant listen to Arabic Muic to, we got other senses for melody, thats like that dependent where oyu live.
The melody is made by a Englishman, the sougth Africans were just told to sing a Text they got form him.
Its a kinf of gift this song, a commercial thing. Africans dont like such melodies even. There is no melody like this there done by the natives because this melody is clearly Western European and is made so we europeans like Africa for commercial stuff.
Listen to real african music and you will recongise they dont sing such tunes.

This idea that south africans are separate from the rest of africa because they "have made South Africa better" cant have been around for very long, I was born in Pietersburg but grew up in Zimbabwe - up until about 5 or 10 years before Mugabe and independence South Africa wasn't the most prominent and prosperous country in southern africa... It seems Africa is different things to different people, though I'm pretty sure most can agree its a humanitarian nightmare at the moment :(
actual in this context or should i say this current video ill go with its zulu but considering its origin is from zim when it was still rhodesia ill say it mite actual apply to both except zimbabwean is not a language lol!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
NO WAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm NOT African!!!!! I'm a SOUTH AFRICAN! You don't know what you are talking about.. North and South America . . . South Americans DO NOT call themselves Americans!! I have a lot of pride in my country but won't like to be called an African!
How ignorant can you be?? You are SOUTH AFRICAN when you were BORN in South African!! I live in the USA but will ALWAYS be a SOUTH AFRICAN. . . till I apply for citizenship! If you are happy to be an Islamic African, go for it! I have a lot of pride in who and what I am but surely do not have an identity crisis!
Hi I'm South African and I live in New Zealand - South Africans don't believe in being part of the rest of Africa - We consider ourselves separate from Africa. It's all about pride and how we as South Africans have made South Africa better!
You should probably be more conscious of the things you say when you speak for everyone in South Africa. I know for a FACT that not all South Africans feel the same way you do. In fact, Id venture to say that only a small community of people would agree, most of whom live in Cape Town if you know what I mean.

It's not just the tiger.
1:37 looks like Mount Everest => Himalaya
0:24, 2:23 Buddist prayer flags => Himalaya
2:08 Folded mountains eroded by glacier => probably not Africa
2:43 Forests covered with snow => probably not Africa
2:58 Wet temperated climate => probably not Africa
Perhaps it was never intended to show pictures exclusively from Africa. Or Amidabuda slept during geography lessons.

You live in Africa
Your an African
I live in America
But I WILL never deny the fact that I'm African
I Am African and proud
Have Pride in yourself!
