  • I've got this series too, harder than hell to find but worth it. Other good docs are Stolen Years,Red Empire,Solovki Power,Gulag Runaway,Resck 1950-53. Good movies about this topic are Famine-33,The Chekist,7 songs from the Tundra,Freeze Die Come to Life,Inner Circle,Coming out of the Ice,Lost in Siberia,The Way Home, and One day in the life of Ivan Denisovitch. Happy viewing on a grim subject.

  • @chickenwretch Thank you for the recommendations.

  • Too bad the audio is awful.

  • I have no illusions that what was done to humans then is being done to us now, but in a much more diabolic manner. This was an imprisonment of the body and mind. No need for that now as our mind has been imprisoned through social engineering.

    Read Warlam Schalamow.......

  • "I could feel the heat even on the factory floor, the heat, after the the body long winter had so longed over. I drew a bread smell, the rich flavor of the cheeses, where the smell of hot grease the aroma of roasted flour combined. A tiny trace of this all surpassing flavor I eagerly began every morning on the nose to the bark of the still uneaten ration pressed. But here it was all over the richness and strength, and I felt as it tore my poor nostrils."

    "Durch den Schnnee" and others...

  • "We were each given a loaf of bread, broke it into pieces and stuffed our pockets full ...

But how much could fit in our pockets?

We went out into the cold evening courtyard - the troops had already begun - that they

brought us back. At the camp guard, we were not searched - no one wore the bread

in the hand. I took up my place, shared the bread brought along with the neighbors, put

me back and fell asleep as soon as my wet, cold feet were warm."
