ok i just have a question that demands for the response to assume a key assumption:

the assumption: IF most of the violence and unestability in the middle east as well as it's expanssion out of the region (say terrorism) comes from factors other than religion (poverty, overpopulation; lack of fertility etc:) , then if the illogical and unrealistic proposition to 'reach energy independence" is achieve, would it not just increase the social strains in the middle east making it more volatile?
