I agree with you. But when you compare these games side by side, they're almost identical. Other than a few special features, and the graphics. They both have the same concept. But once people start wow they don't try anything else. I bet a ton of people would switch over if they saw this.
@Laxmaster72 I understand the sentiment, but, I actually prefer WoW's graphical style to this game's. Even though World of Warcraft definitely lacks the visual finesse that this game has, the -style- of the graphics is much more eye-pleasing, in my opinion. EQII's style is very "generic-D&D-fantasy" and while that's fine for some people, I'm just so bored with it...
@BucketDeth I actually went to the trouble to download a "full" OST for the game ... and the track in this video wasn't among it! I wonder if this newbie area isn't newer than this soundtrack, as this isn't the newbie area I remember from when the game came out. You started on a boat, and crashed on an island, or something...? It was strange. But I also like all the music I heard.
me and my friends have played and quit this game to more times than i care to say. but we are about try it out again since they decided to copy WoW's model and put in BGs. we played wow for a bit for the easy acess pvp but in the end we just couldnt stand the graphics, now the eq2 is doing BGs we are gonna try them out one last time.
I hear a lot of complaints about WoW's graphics, but I suppose having the background I do in retrogaming gives me an advantage in dealing with them. I actually quite enjoy WoW's stylized look. :) But, a more "realistic" graphical style like EQ2's is nice too. I was very impressed with the lighting effects in EQ2.
Aye, actually, I -own- EQ2, the base game, and the account is so old I have like four expansions free (or something, I didn't pay that close of attention.) The game looks excellent, for an MMORPG, and I adored the music, but the character models are oddly disjointed and, the thing that REALLY bothered me: the interface is horrible! Not intuitive at all.
I decided to load up the trial now because I didn't remember much about the game, it was years ago when it came out that I played. Do not want.
how can we change the graphics? cuz i started this game and i cant change the graphic settings and also the resolution

change your mind? You did the right thing.
IT was a great game after they fixed the initial issues (had a bad launch). Over the last year or so they've been working hard to make it suck.
In the end SOE is neurotic, and their fans are 10x worse.
