  • Short and sweet tutorial. Thanks!

  • @TheRogerfran glad it helped ya!

  • @TheRogerfran

I'm new Adobe CS5.5 and this was the easiest tutorial to understand and instigate, thanks for the tips.

  • Thanks, For Helping.!

  • your tutorial was the most helpful

    thanks

  • Thanks for prompt response. It was actually about the "blind" outline you get around the original image even though it's been clipped. I need to keep the artboard as is, as it's a banner for a website. I basically need to crop the 'dead' areas around the image.

  • @teseo1 I'm not 100% certain what you are talking about, BUT -- make sure your document is in RGB mode (you can change that in the File > Document Setup, I think) -- Then make sure the BLACK on the MASK is really black (Because CMYK colors are different). That MIGHT fix it, OTHERWISE Export it as a PNG, then open it maybe in photoshop to edit it (If you have photoshop)

  • Help! When I try to save ai to jpg it saves it with the clipping mask size which is bigger than the artwork?

  • @teseo1 Heya, if you are using Adobe CS5 you can select the tool right above the hand (It looks like a square, and you resize the artboard).

However, if you are using a version without that tool, you can make a square, and then go to Edit > Define Artboard (Or SOMETHING like that, I cant remember the exact name sorry!)
