I certainly don't like this singer sliding into his pitches instead of hitting the pitch. Dreadful performance. I've heard it sung beautifully in a choral arrangement for several Lutheran college choirs.
For love is joy, The love has been given, Jesus, don't let it pass you, love is patient, it is waiting for you, God is waiting.

Great video to start out the year! I chose to promote your video with the following verses at One Year Bible Blogging on facebook. Come all ye...
Matthew 1:16;"Jacob, the father of Joseph[YHWH adds] the husband of Mary [greek for bitter water] of whom was born Jesus[Greek for YHWH saves], who is called Christ[Greek for Highest honor]. Exodus 15:22b-25a;"they came to Marah, they could not drink its water...Moses cried...the Lord showed him a piece of wood"
Yes, you should hate the sin, but dn't hate the sinner. For they know not what they are doing. Just pray for them. Ask God to reveal his mercy on them. Ask God to pursue them. He loves them and he's delighted to pursue them.
for they stumble because they are disobedient to the word, and to this doom they were also appointed. So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires. Just as it is written, "JACOB I LOVED, BUT ESAU I HATED."
Sorry to correct you but you have the wrong scriptural references for this passage. It is actually from Isaiah 55:1-2. The "Lord" is the Hebrew Adonai meaning the God of the Hebrews. Be careful how you cite scripture - claiming these passages for the New Testament can be VERY offensive to our Jewish brothers and sisters. That said, I think this is a beautiful song. Rick in KC, Master of Arts in Theology
This song is much more touching and REAL when it's played without drums, keyboards, other electrification, etc. Just two guitars (one fingerpicked, one strummed) and a lead w/ harmony vocal--it's a simple melody and shouldn't require fancy productions to evoke deep feelings.
interesting!!!......I didn't know he said that. maybe it's not fair to generalize, right??.... I think there are many Christians that are a real example of what Jesus was / is...... how is that??. God bless
Scripture says: For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men - the testimony given in it's proper time. 1 Timothy 2:5
No earthly fleshly man can be a "mediator" - an intercessor, go between, middleman. Our relationship with the Father is through Jesus Christ - ALONE.
You know, nobody ever tried to argue with the fact that it is Jesus Christ who is the way to the Father and that it is through Him that we're reconciled with the father. Catholics don't argue with that either. Sadly, there is much confusion with many brothers in Christ like you concerning various aspects of our faith, and it truly breaks my heart - but why use it for a youtube provocation? Let's both do what we are called to do and praise the Lord our God together...
O my gosh, Matt Maher has such a beautiful voice, I truly admire his dedication to the Lord, and his ability to use the gifts the spirit gave him for the glory of God (p.s. he will most likely be at the March for life in D.C. this year, and probably in Spain for World Youth Day 2011, I can't wait)
Also, if we are truly saved..and not just playing "christian" you can't be bitter, angry, or full of hate...Jesus, Yesuha, told us to pray for those who hurt you, not to hate. We have lost his message in today's world---also being a Christian dosen't mean your life will be free from troubles, far from it...but the path we walk, we don't walk alone. Jesus is awesome!! He will never leave us, nor forsake us....a better friend you will never find!! God bless!!
2 - "Many can't cope with the reality of life without religion." You're refering to it as a coping mechanism. A truly deep study without preconceived notions would not result in such. (I am speaking from experience.)
I'm sorry you feel that way. The world wants us to believe that it's we...aka humans who have all the answers. Jesus, Yeshua--Is the one and only true Son of God, who came down not to punish the world, but that the world would be saved thru Him. He came to save the lost, the hurt, the bitter, angry, even the ones who nailed him to the cross. He did it for Love. I pray that you will truly seek Him, close out the noise of this world, open your heart to him. I pray you'll find peace
Yankeegirl62:"He came to save the lost, the hurt, the bitter, angry,"
Look at the christian world. Are Christians less hurt, bitter, angry , than the rest of the world ? The greatest percentage of inmates in the US are Christians.Think! Who is saved ?
we are to be "little Christs" that is Christians. Sadly, the world feels that 'gentiles' are automatically Christians. Far from it!! If you believe that Jesus the Christ is the one and only Son of the Lord God, then you will be saved. "I am the way, the Truth and the Light, No man commeth unto the Father but by me" If we truly belong to the King, they our lives should be FULL of fruits....lots and lots!! Merry CHRISTmas!!
First of all, this world isn't "Christian"...it's as far from it as the east is from the west. To be true Christians, we are to be Christ like..To truly follow God's will, to put others before ourselves, to die daily to our own selfish desires, and to do the will of the Lord. yes, many find the Lord in prison, why? Many finally figure out that living the life they were leading got them to only one place. God sends light to the darkness...God bless!
"Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God."
Are you willing to bet your eternity there isn't? Let's say you're right and there is no Kingdom of God, what have I lost by being a Born Again Christian by having complied with what the Bible teaches one must do to be Saved? But, what if I'm right and you're wrong, what have you lost?
Job407a: That`s a very weak arguement. What if smoking is good for you? So many tell us, they feel good after a smoke. One acts according to his knowledge, and experience.
What has smoking to do with salvation and eternity? You want to smoke, go ahead get two jobs to pay for your habit and knock yourself out. But the choice of Christ or not is eternal.
According to the music I have it was written by John Foely, S.J. in 1978. Thanks for posting this. I needed to hear a few times to play at church this evening.
Verse 3. and let all who toil let them come to the water and let all who are weary let them come to the Lord all who labor without rest how can your soul find rest? except for the Lord Verse 4. and let all the poor let them come to the water bring the ones who are laden bring them all to the Lord bring the children without might easy the load and light come to the Lord

How is that theory logical?
Religion is as abstract as anything could possible get on this world.
It's so different than this material place.
It's impossible to fathom...
It demands faith, hope, and love; things you have to work at..
It's a noble calling...
You think that the definition of a coping mechanism?
