What a great Jeffersong. :) If anybody's interested in original 60's style songs, check out my profile. If not, Jefferson Airplane is better anyway. :)
I would love to experience the 60's and be there when music was still relevent and had meaning every sngle time. It's sad and upsetting that there is a blackhole in the music industry that is sucking the life out of real artist. Just to impose their propaganda of the marketable music drones...I'm just saying lets
My brother threw a party while at Univ. of Houston in 1967. I was sixteen then. I heard this song and it blew my mind. I started at U of H the next year majoring in Accounting. I was sitting in the Student Union and this beautiful redhead came up and sat down beside me while this was on. That led to some excellent nights with her. In fact, I took her to an Airplane concert where they were not headlining. I believe the Four Seasons were. Can you believe how far ahead of time they were?
@xamberloveshimx According to my mother, most teens in the 60's and 70's have done drugs at some point. Not that it's much different now, but ya know. :^)
white rabbits a tall alice bloody brilliant what a song you dont need any mind bending stuff just watch this brilliant artistic video a true creation of the sixties love it junysawrus x
This song and Any Colour You Like by Pink Floyd are the best psychedelic songs ever made. I don't care what anyone says, all other scenarios are ludicrous.
@bahrom69 wrong.. only to those who think it is.. it actually references the storybook alice in wonderland and was inspired by the book. do some research.
This is once in a life time song. Its haunting and surreal, especially when high on something. It filters the Bullshit from reality. Also, I remember this song from the epic movie 'Platoon'.
fannicoleely.....you're right about that man. But then again I stayed for 20 years in the Corps and saw it out to the end...both sides of it to the end of the first Gulf War. I saw how we got treated back then and how we got treated now. It does leave a mark guy that never goes away. And yep....they were great times AND better music in those days. BTW...I was a grunt for twenty years.
was born in 46 - did nam -changed my ass forever-appreciate ANYTHING that wasnt a threat to my ass afterwards - flew Cobras- had it easy - guys in the mud were the real heroes- today - got a letter from local town - violation to have my 1968 unregestered car in my driveway- OMG -what a problem- these people need one night in a fox hole
@grub44 THANK YOU! For your extraordinary courage and dedication to serve for the good of all people on earth! I am definitely no fan of war, but I can't be anything but grateful to all our service people, and I admire each and every one for your selfless and dedicated convictions. This is the true meaning of LOVE. Thank you and God bless you!
@grub44 Hey man you are so right ! "Unregistered vehicle" in your OWN driveway ! They are pulling that shit in my town with license scanners that were supposed to be used to fight terrorists. They are using them to harass American citizens. People such as you risked their life for personal freedoms and they are being taken away one by one by hack politicians and paranoids. WAKE UP PEOPLE !
i remember this old song playing on the radio back when i was a child....just watched sucker punch and thought it was awsome they used this version for the movie....
i had forgotten about this old song....love it....just as awsome today....
I was in my late teens and early twenties in the sixties. may be old now, but it was a Magical time. LUVED IT!!!!! Was fortunate lived near the Newport jazz festival!!!!
@valzinia Man fuck being old, you get to say that you lived through the most beautiful time in the 1900s. Sex, acid, weed, shrooms, love for everyone, hippies, rock and roll music, woodstock, peace, appreciating life and music rather than appreciating facebook and gold teeth like todays blinded generation...sadly, that was including myself. I'm 16, I worship the late 60s. I'm ashamed to say that I'm 16 in 2011. But if you don't mind, can i message you a few questions about the 60s? you're lucky
It was cool unless you were in the military....LMAOOOOOO!!! Then you get screwed when you get home...by your own countrymen. No eating in a resturant, can't go in bars..even movies won't let you in......unless you are in civies....then again they look at your hair and KNOW you are military and tell you to get F*****! GO AWAY!
@OttoJuhl You're obviously looking at the negative shit...you seem like the downer of the party rather than the life...i don't know if you want to take that as an offence or not but I look at the up side, with, like i said, sex, drugs, rock and roll, the mix of the hippies and their peace and the hells angels and the manson family drama. When the entertainment world wasn't taken so seriously and neither was life, when marilyn monroe was alive and acting . psh, yea..."it was cool man"
1967..a very good year. The summer of love...Reminds me of the Vietnam war going on, walking downtown hearing all this groovy music. Wish I had a time machine...
I remember this very well- in the summer of '67 I had just come back from Vietnam and was stationed at Ft. Ord, CA. I had a '54 Austin-Healey and drove it up to San Francisco with 2 of my buddies- Bill Sturtevant and Steve Walton. We saw the Jefferson Airplane at some famous place- I can't remember the name- the marijuana smoke was so thick we could hardly see. Later we went to Haight-Ashbury where we were not well received by the hippies who were rude & obnoxious jerks.
I love this video
