Looks like they had a 20 year old trying to play a 15 year old. Like WizardOfOzfan94 said, Judy always did stop the show...in my opinion, the only one who came anywhere close to the real Judy was the girl who portrayed Judy in the "Meet Me in St. Louis" era
When Judy says the line "I don't know where that voice comes from" and Roger responds with "It's a gift". Her response of "does that mean it can be taken away?" is so genuine to think that Judy was so fearful that her talent could simply just disappear and that deep down inside as the legend that we know her as today, we realize that no matter what, she was human just like the rest of us, and all she wanted was to be loved unconditionally.

Great scene, but in the midst of this young girl's shocking genius, we are reminded that she is just a kid, a young girl who simply wants to know, "Do you think I'm pretty" which is a question that no one could hold against a child.
@friendsfamilyaccount but fortunately if they do it again, they can use the decca demo tests as a part of it - and everyone can hear how good Judy was before her voice training
@ziggycat999 Actually Judy's daughter Lorna said she got that from people over the years telling her when Judy would rehearse for a radio show people would stand outside the studio and just listen to her sing.
I'm a singer....this is going in playlist for when I need inspiration.

@jennysimply ,the track is obviously perfect as it is because it came from Frances Gumm a.k.a.Judy Garland herself

@WizardOfOzfan94 It might seem like it is being highly dramatized but in reality this how it actually happened.

Um...it's the original recording from 1938. Not so much they can do with original mono recordings but clean the track up a bit, which it is.

Good written dialogue but miscasted actors and I doubt bystanders stopped to hear this unknown audtion on a lot. Pretty pretentious.
