@kristoffpistoff8 SE should make an HD version of this for the PS3. This game is in 480i, so it doesn't look good when played on an LCD TV. Sucks that I already gave my CRT away. Also agree with you about making an FFXII-ish RPG, with the same team.
12 is one of my favorite ff games and everything besides the gamit system is amazing its not that i dont like it its just that if you made your gambits right the game played itself. I havent played the game in 2 years and i still got the goulemer jungle (the place that you have to go through to get to frans village) song still in my head. if i said the name of that jungle wrong correct me just dont be a dick about it and last thing. balthier is the shit
@thugsnw I know, as men, most of us go bald sadly. I'm not, but still enough chance of losing my hair in the forthcoming years. However, I just saw the laughable side on this one. Btw, this dude didn't review FFXIII though. He probably quit or something?
@Jiyaijo Haha. I think my hairline's starting to recede. Dammit. But some ladies are kind of into that...I think. Yep, I'll just keep telling myself that. Anyway, there are a lot of new faces on GS, so maybe the job of reviewing XIII has been given to them. Not sure if Kasavin had quit as I don't really follow the site. But it would be a shame if he did. Newer faces don't do a good job of reviewing games for me. Not like Gerstmann and Kasavin.
@thugsnw Well if you look like Vin Diesel, then yes, some women love bald men. Agree with the other part, this guy reviews pretty well. The one that reviewed XIII reviewed good as well, not a really big complaint to the reviews. In fact, I think Gamespot gives great detailed reviews most of the time! I like their reviews a lot more than IGN's which is completely biased and sponsored by the developers.
@Jiyaijo Oh, come on. You don't have to look like Vin Diesel to make women like bald (or balding) men. You'd be surprised how much open they are when it comes to that. I really stopped watching GS reviews on current-gen titles -- at least games that came out starting 3 years ago (with probably the exception of some handheld games). Even G4 reviews are crappier since then or maybe even a bit before then. Really, what's going on here?
@thugsnw I don't know man, I like the detailed reviews more, which Gamespot does. Now that you mention Bastion, GS has the longest and detailed review of it. IGN has a 2 minute review of it and the dude yaps through it. Supergiant Games made Bastion, I'm surprised Kasavin is the Creative Director there! It's a nice step forward in his career, I'm a PS3-owner so I couldn't play Bastion, but I would like him to do some exclusives or other games for the PS3 as well. Bastion seems like good stuff
@Jiyaijo Well, yeah. But if you like detail, you should watch GT reviews. Watch out, though, because some of their reviews have spoilers. Bastion's pretty new, but who knows... Maybe with time, it would head over to PS3 just like Limbo. I'm firstly an Xbox gamer (at least that's what I owned first), but I haven't bought the game yet. I only see people saying good things about it plus the trailer. It's just recently that I owned a PS3 as well.
@thugsnw The GT reviews sound like a robot is doing the reviews, like he's reading it straight out and revealing spoilers along the way, I did not like their reviews. Agree with Limbo, that's a very good platform just released for PS3! But that's interesting, what made you get a PS3 as well? I was always a PS gamer because I had a Nintendo64, PSX, PS2 and PS3. Never felt like getting an Xbox. Seeing the amount of exclusives the PS3 has, I won't get an Xbox. But what made you get a PS3 anyway?
Yep, it's very much scripted. Unlike GS reviews where we can see the reviewers talking. Despite the monotony, they cover a game to its very core. Anyway, I've always been a PS user. It's just this gen I've first owned an Xbox. The 360 has pretty good arcade titles, a robust online service, and nice full games of its own. I've owned a Genesis, PSX, PS2, GCN, DS, and PSP. The PS3 has a lot of remarkable exclusives, such as MGS4, Uncharted, and LBP, to name a couple.
@thugsnw My cousin had the Genesis as well, good times. I also have a DS and PSP, but I didn't mention it because it's handheld. My PSP was modded and the DS had some pretty innovative games, except I didn't play both that much. Just a few games. I loved Ghost of Sparta and Crisis Core the most, Peace Walker too. And I loved The World Ends With You on the DS. These were great handheld games. The PS3 has indeed great exclusives, even though I didn't like MGS4 as much as I hoped. Uncharted wins.
@Jiyaijo Yeah, heard MGS4 wasn't that great. I played with my PSP and DS a lot before I got an Xbox and PS3. Personally, I though Peace Walker was perfect. The PSP also had a pretty good KH game with the best battle system so far. Crisis Core was okay. GOW games were nice, but a bit short. Overall it didn't have as many memorable games like the DS. On the DS, my favorite was TWEWY. I also liked the Hotel Dusk series, Layton series, DQ9, Ghost Trick -- just too many to mention.
@thugsnw True, the PSP had just a few memorable games. It was Quality over Quantity, but the DS had Quality in a different way and in a bigger Quantity. TWEWY was indeed my fave, I would play that game if it were completely revamped for any other platform. The two Zelda games on it were pretty good as well. But I mainly hold my focus on the bigger consoles, the PS2 and PS3. The PS2 has a great library, the PS3 will have games like Versus XIII, KH3, UChart3, XIII-2, Mass Effect 3 looking forward!
@Jiyaijo People were hoping for a TWEWY 2. I'm not sure that's a good idea. I'm perfectly happy with it being on its own. Yeah, PS2 had a lot of great titles. SOTC, Ico, DMC, GOW series, P3, P4, Okami, Bully, ZOE 2, MGS3, KH series, FFXII (in my opinion), and a lot more. The PS3 has a lot of good ones, too, and it's still building its library. Can't wait to play ones I missed so far.
@thugsnw TWEWY 2 wouldn't make much sense seeing as how the plot was played and the ending. I'm glad it was ever made, extremely creative and very fun. The PS3 is getting a great library too, I'm busy with Mass Effect 2 mixing it up with the very fun but hard racing game Split/Second Velocity and again playing the extremely hard Death Nation. Three different games I'm playing at the moment based on the mood I'm in. Already beated RDR, Uchart 1 and 2 and Enslaved. Many more to come!! :)
@Jiyaijo Good thing we're on the same page about TWEWY. A spin-off may work, though. On the PS3, GT5 and Motorstorm Apocalypse look sick. Definitely getting them later on. Only game I finished so far is Uncharted. Now, working on MGS4 and LittleBigPlanet. Heavy Rain coming up after. Want to grab an Uncharted 2 GOTY, unfortunately they only sell Asian copies of it locally. Might have to turn to eBay to get R1 version. I'm also looking at inFamous 1 and 2.
@thugsnw I'm definitely no fan of racing games, but Split/Second Velocity is awesome because you can trigger explosions during gameplay which works well and is fun! GT-series went backwards after 4, Motorstorm on the PSP was good! Heavy Rain is a movie-esque game, with more than 20 different endings. I didn't like it much because it works slow and is not really a game anymore. I got Infamous 1 for free because of the PSN black-out, I still have to play it along with FFXIII lol !
@Jiyaijo I like playing interactive movies sometimes to mix things up, and Heavy Rain is a perfect fit (aside from MGS4, hehe). I agree, Motorstorm on the PSP is amazing. Never really followed any GT games because I'm not big on racing games myself. GT5 looks spectacular, though.
@thugsnw Agree with that. I'd also like to mention that Square is looking into HD compatibility for the PS3, meaning they might place PS2 games on the PS3. We might see FFX & X-2 combination on one blu-ray disc or Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 (perhaps even Chain of Memories with it) on one blu-ray disc for the PS3. That would be awesome, I think it would sell like cupcakes for obese people do.
@Jiyaijo Eh, I would probably pass on a KH HD collection. I already have every KH game on the PS2, including their Final Mix versions. But I may reconsider if they threw BBS in there. Hehe. If they brought FFX to XII to the PS3/Xbox, I may also get it. HD reincarnations should be kept to a minimum. They should focus in making newer games instead.
@thugsnw Well my younger cousin (at the age of 6) raged on my PS2 a few years ago and broke it completely. My aunt wanted to get me a new one, but PS3 just arrived and I was like 'It's ok, no need for it' being the gentleman that I am. So, no PS2 for years and I couldn't play PS2 games after that so I'm down for any collection. GOW collection, ZOE collection, ICO collection will be the ones I'm getting and hopefully the KH or FF collection for the PS3 too! I don't mind the collections at all!
@Jiyaijo Whoa, that sucks. And you can't beat the shit out of him (or her), which is unfair. Guess you really need those collections. As for me, I still have my SCPH-39001 (fat PS2) breathing. The only issue it has is the disc tray. It came to a point that it almost immediately closes once you open it, giving you a couple of seconds to put the disc in. I think there's a problem with the motor or something. Maybe I should have it looked at and get the entrails cleaned at the same time.
@thugsnw Your comment made me laugh, disc tray closing quickly like it's fucking with you lmfao. Hi, I'm the PS2 and I'm the boss, you can only enter a disc for a few secs, thank you. Lololol. If it won't cost you much, you could fix it. But it's not a huge problem if you stand next to it with the disc though. And yes, sadly I can't beat the shit out of him. I just put up a 'fake' smile on my face when he did that, like Sai from Naruto (if you know him that is)
@Jiyaijo Yeah, quite annoying. But at least it didn't have major problems over 8 years of use (although, it's being used less the last 3 years of that) -- even the lens had never gotten replaced. Need a component cable for it so that I could actually play it again. Sai? Yes, that blank-faced ninja who wears a small shirt to showcase his belly button. Must be gay. Haha. Well, lucky for your cousin you're not an ANBU ninja.
@thugsnw The PS2 was pretty solid, my cousins raged from time to time on it and it still worked until my 6-year old cousin came along and tested his epic powers on it. A bit too strong for a 6-year old, that's for sure. Agree with Sai, he must be gay. I'm actually i'm not an ANBU ninja myself, or I would have to kill a few people around here lol. Well, I guess our favourite franchises are Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts? We could agree on that.
@Jiyaijo Maybe your cousin's actually Chuck Norris's illegitimate child. That would explain why your PS2 broke. Hehe. Yeah, FF and KH are long fave franchises of mine, but recently I play more action games than RPG. Shooters, too. Although, it appears I can't play a shooter game for more than 2 hours. Haha.
@thugsnw Don't know about the Chuck Norris part, but the kid turns violently green when he's angry. He might have something of Hulk in him hehe. Nowadays we don't see much JRPG's, it's mostly Western RPG's like Mass Effect and Fallout. Don't get me wrong, I love Mass Effect but I want more JRPG's! I miss playing a good ol' FF and/or KH game to pour my hours in it. Now it's pouring my hours in Mass Effect 2 and thinking back to those good ol' days. First Person Shooters? I'll pass.
@Jiyaijo I wanted to try Mass Effect at first, but now I'm not so sure. Maybe it's because I've never played an RPG besides JRPGs. Skyrim, however, looks tempting. Perhaps that'll be my first. Anyway, if you're seeing a lack of JRPGs these days, why not play older ones you missed? If you have a PSP and open to running custom firmware (or maybe go legit), you can play a few PSX games. Maybe replay ones you finished already but miss anyway.
@thugsnw Trust me, play Mass Effect 2! It is incredible and huge, I've already poured 30 hours in it and it's still going. The game starts a little bit slow, but then it quickly gets really good. I have a PSP with FFVII, VIII and IX. Obviously I've played them many times and I'll play them again but there are a lot of PS3 games I don't own yet, I want to play new games atm! That's why I'm missing JRPGS. However other titles like Mortal Kombat and God of War-series are also the ones I want!
@Jiyaijo I don't know... ME2's trailer didn't lure me in. Just curious, do I need to play the first to get the second? You can also try FFVI, which competes as one of the best FFs around. Not sure if it's out on PSN, but if you have a CFW, you can easily fabricate a copy that the PSP recognizes. On PS3, try Eternal Sonata, Tales of Vesperia, White Knight Chronicles, Star Ocean 4, Valkyria Chronicles, etc. I want MK and GOW, too. Must. Play. Them.
@thugsnw There is a comic in the PS3 version, it tells the whole story of ME1 and you can take decisions while at it. You might wanna give the first game a try, but I've got a PS3 so I couldn't. The comic was enough for me. I played VI on my PSP a long time ago, but I enjoyed IV a lot more if I have to compare it. VI didn't lure me in somehow. Tales of Vesperia for PS3? Where? Japanese? No thanks. MK, GOW, DMC4, Ninja Gaiden, Bayonetta, Batman. Must Play Them INDEED.
@Jiyaijo What so there's no ME1 on the PS3 that's why you settled for the comic found in ME2? And does that mean Tales of Vesperia didn't get a US version for the PS3? Oh, yeah. Arkham City will be here soon. I heard Bayonetta's pretty bad on the PS3. Might get the 360 copy. There's also Resistance 3, which looks interesting. Only Resistance game I tried was on the PSP.
@thugsnw Wait you didn't know about ME1 and the fact there is no English version of Tales of Vesperia for PS3? Oh wow dude! Microsoft owns the rights for ME1 but I don't know why the English version for PS3 was never released, sad. Bayonetta is already patched for the PS3, it's on par if not better now than the 360 version. I still need to play Arkham Asylum, let alone City. Resistance doesn't really interest me though.
@Jiyaijo Nope. I never really cared enough for ME to know. Didn't know about Tales of Vesperia either. Weird how the Xbox version got localized in the states yet it's a "no" for the PS3. Reminds me of another Tales game: Tales of Symphonia was localized for the GCN, but the PS2 version didn't get any. Perhaps the Tales series hated Sony since then? Haha. As for Bayonetta, I planned to get it on Xbox way before so that's where I'll get it. Might get PS3 copy of Arkham City, though.
@thugsnw True, I didn't care for ME before too. Until my friends started playing ME2 on their PC etc. I heard all positive things about it. Then It got me excited so I got it for 30 bucks and it's well worth! A very unique and great RPG up in the galaxy in which you visit many planets and explore them! The Tales series is a real downer because of the different platforms. Vesperia came for the 360, but Tales of Graces will be exclusive for the PS3. Weird 'marketing' strategy if you ask me...
@Jiyaijo Honestly the only Tales games I liked were on the SNES/PSX platforms. The Tales of Phantasia and Tales of Destiny games. You could try them on your PSP if you don't mind old school SNES-y graphics. One RPG I'm waiting to be translated is Tengai Makyou ZERO for the SFC. No, it's not an official English translation. Since it's on SFC, fan translators will take care of it. But it's been passed from one group to the next for almost 10 years, it's depressing.
@thugsnw I've played Tales of Phantasia, pretty fun game but dated. Oh wow, you still have the SFC? Or do you have an Emulator? I don't know about the game you're mentioning, but I just checked it and it looks like a classic and familiar RPG. A good one to pour your hours in if you're in that type of mood, but I can see why you want it translated obviously. Btw, Folklore for the PS3 looks like a unique poetic RPG. Might wanna check it out!
@Jiyaijo No, I played it on an emu. But I plan to get an SNES later on since I bought Tengai Makyou on eBay. It's a game that really can't be brought over to US shores because the series hinge on the satire of Japanese culture. The SFC game is only a spin-off, and the main games were either ported or remade for last- to current gen consoles. Xbox 360 has a remake of the first in the series, Ziria (pronounced Jiraiya). I'll check Folklore out.
@thugsnw That's interesting, I never heard of that game. But it's mainly because old RPG's never grabbed my attention as much. FF, Xenogears and Chrono Trigger/Cross were the ones I played back in the day. Still play them from time to time on the PSP, but I was hoping for some new innovative RPG's on the PS3. Sadly, we'll have to wait because there just ain't that many. Folklore is one, FFXIII-2 and Versus obviously and perhaps the one we're waiting for to be announced: Kingdom Hearts 3!
@Jiyaijo I stumbled on it when I first discovered emulators for the SNES (or emus in general). Back then I didn't have a PSX, but I had FFVII finished at the time thanks to a friend who had one, so my source for console games was an emu. There I played classics like FFVI (or FFIII), Chrono Trigger, Seiken Densetsu 3 -- among others. Tengai Makyou looked beautiful and I wanted it translated by the translation groups that were so abundant at the time. I think I have a vid of that here.
I want Xenogears remade (kind of), but it's fine even if it won't be. Folklore seems quite old, but it has potential. KH3 won't be in production until KH 3D gets out and Versus XIII finished. I want a Wii, too, so I can play SMG, Mario Kart, Mad World, No More Heroes, Epic Mickey, and the arriving Zelda -- not to mention reply The Wind Waker with a proper video cable. Man, I want so many things. I don't think I'm gonna get rich from all the games and platforms I want to buy. Haha.
@thugsnw Indeed, there are so many good games out there, It's hard to keep track and play them all. My brother has Wii. I've finished Mad World, No More Heroes 1 and 2, Zelda Twilight Princess and Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2. After that we Brawled a lot and Kart. I guess it's fun from time to time, but there ain't many hardcore games. Twilight Princess and Mario Galaxy are really good, but the others were decent. I set my sight on the many games on the PS3 atm, no more Wii for me!
@Jiyaijo I finished Twilight Princess on the GCN. Still preferred Wind Waker than that one, mainly because WW felt like an adventure (aside from the alluring art direction) while TP felt like a quest -- not that quests are a bad thing. Only WW was...liberating and serene. Nintendo was never about the hardcore, and I like it to be that way. We need games like those. Oh, I'm also interested in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, which is a Wii exclusive.
@thugsnw Nintendo was never hardcore indeed, but it lacks many third party support. It's the same old stuff in a different way all over again. Zelda, Mario etc. It's the same with every console they bring out. It's fine that they have them, they're great. But seriously, if you want to grab everyone's attention, put different fresh games up there from other developers! The lack of third party support will always put Nintendo 2 steps behind Sony and Microsoft. TP was better on the Wii than GCN btw
@Jiyaijo I don't know. TP has always been planned to be a GCN game, and I'll always prefer to control Link with a standard controller than the Wiimote. Wii TP was kind of rushed and Link there was right-handed (he was always left-handed) because Nintendo had to flip the screen because people would hold the Wiimote on their right hand -- and it'll be awkward if on screen Link was holding the sword with his left.
@Jiyaijo Maybe Nintendo doesn't want third-party support because they know (or at least Miyamoto) they have a market that will follow them no matter what. Even some "hardcore" gamers play Nintendo. Nintendo has been there before Sony or MS entered mainstream gaming, and it's the only one that survived against the competition. As long as first-party games remain innovative, entertaining, and nostalgic, Nintendo will live.
@thugsnw The TP Wii version worked extremely well, It got higher scores than the GCN version might I add. I'm definitely pleaesd with it, still play it from time to time just to collect all the Poes. I play Nintendo games too, the games that will come out on the 3DS interest me, they're fun to play when I just don't want a heavily-story-based game. Just a fun game to play for the gameplay alone is satisfying too! It's a nice mix-up, from PS3 to 3DS. I like it. I still think third party support..
@Jiyaijo I think Metacritic says otherwise about TP. I worried about Zeldas that run only on motion control. They might feel...awkward. I hope it goes well with Skyward Sword.
@thugsnw Should be there. I can count about 10 great games for the 3DS, with MGS3 as the only third party support. That is kind of bad, they should let other developers bring out fun flashy games as well. If all I'm ever going to play on the 3DS is 10 games, I think I'll wait for the 3DS Lite version, and even wait when there is a price drop from it. So Nintendo needs to appeal to me, with Ocarina of Time they already did, but I want more.
@Jiyaijo Well what I'm waiting for on the 3DS are the Layton games and KH 3D. I don't know what else to look forward to for now. Might wait for the 3DS Lite as well, but how much slimmer can it get? It's not like the 3DS is any bigger than the DSi. We already have Sony and MS for flashy games. I'd rather have Nintendo preserve their niche or image than be covered in the "wow-ness" that appeal kids these days.
@thugsnw No need to worry about motion control, they worked perfectly for Zelda. Skyward Sword will be great, just as all the other Zelda games were. These games are the ones I'm looking for in 3DS: KH3D, Kid Icarus, Luigi's Mansion 2, SuperMario3D, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Mario Kart3D, StarFox3D, PaperMario3D, MGS3D and Kirby Mass Attack. These are fun games I'd love to play on the 3DS, but let me correct myself: Two games are third party support. Shame, since KH3D and MGS3D will be great!
@Jiyaijo I suppose, but I think standard controls should've at least made it as an option. Right, I forgot about Mario Kart 3D and Super Mario 3D. And I guess MGS3D to some extent. I hope Hotel Dusk series continue on the platform, but I doubt it since Cing is no more -- just like Clover Studios. Sigh, why do good development teams have to go?
@thugsnw I never played Hotel Dusk, the only games I played on the DS: TWEWY, FFIV, Two Zelda games, Two KH games and that's it. I was halfway through Bowser's inside Story when I realized I wanted a classic Mario game instead of Mario Bros. It was good, but It didn't suck me in as the other titles did. Hotel Dusk looks good, some other developer might just pick it up and make it again for the 3DS. I may be alone on this, but I never wanted SquareSoft to 'die' as well. That made me sad too.
@Jiyaijo Hotel Dusk is engaging. It has more of an interactive novel feel than a game, which is cool for what it brings to the dated point-and-click genre. Played Bowser's Inside Story and DQ9 as well, and like you I need to finish them. Bowser's Inside Story is an RPG, though, so it's different from your typical Mario side-scroller. TWEWY is my favorite. You should really try other games like Layton, FF4, Chrono Trigger, Elite Beat Agents, GTA: CW, Ghost Trick, Phoenix Wright, etc.
@thugsnw I already mentioned FFIV lol, loved it. Played Chrono Trigger on my PSP already and GTA: CW on the PSP. I guess DQ9 is a game I should try, perhaps Hotel Dusk too. But Layton etc. don't interest me really. I'm looking forward to the games on the 3DS. I only wish Nintendo would release a Lite version soon because the 3DS looks like a cheap DS with 3D. That is not good. Once the Lite version comes out, I'll get it. By then, most games I mentioned will be out too!
@Jiyaijo Oh, right. Haha. Sorry. Chrono Trigger for the DS has multiple endings, though. But I can't remember if the SNES version has one, too. And you get a poster. DQ9 is good. It feels much like DQ8 for the PS2. Layton is charming. Level 5, the company responsible for DQ8 and DQ9, did a good job capturing old London in a cartoon. The game isn't just puzzles. It has a story, too -- and a pretty good one. 3DS doesn't look cheap. It's glossy and it has weight. It's a machine.
@thugsnw Yeah I heard that about Trigger, but Trigger didn't capture my attention as much as FFVII and Xenogears did back in the day, and even now. They were all made by SquareSoft, remarkable RPG's, but Chrono Trigger and Cross somewhat too were...just 'less' to me. Xenogears is one I will never forget, a remake would probably make it sell extremely well. The 3DS doesn't feel as good as the DS LITE and XL versions. It really should be made slicker and sweet on many levels. I'll wait for it.
@Jiyaijo I don't know, I sure like the looks of the DSi version better than the 3DS, but 3DS looks better than the Lite. That's just me, I guess. Yeah, compared to FFVII and Xenogears, Chrono Trigger doesn't stand a chance. But the game is special in its own way. The time-traveling part was cool and how timelines are affecting each other. Didn't like Chrono Cross as much as I hoped, though. And, yes, Xenogears needs a proper remake. But I'm happy if nobody touches it, too.
@thugsnw I guess for many gamers, FFVII, VIII and IX along with Xenogears needs to be remade. Square has all the muscle to do it. Perhaps they could make a full remake of VIII first? Or the more cartoony looking IX? Perhaps as a 'test' to see how it picks up before they do the big boys: VII and Xenogears. With Type-0, FFXIII-2 and KH3D pretty close to being released, Versus XIII and KH3 along with BBS2 is all they'll be working on? A remake along the way could be a great project.
@Jiyaijo I think 4 remakes would be too much. You know how long it takes for them to release a new game, right? I'm okay with Xenogears being remade, but adding 3 original PSX FF games would be obnoxious. I'd rather they make new titles instead -- and they don't have to be an FF or a KH game. We need something new, like TWEWY, but not necessarily a game very much like it.
@thugsnw True, but you must have seen Advent Children right? Well it looks marvelous, imagine FFVII looking just like that with Cinematic Cutscenes and great graphics. I know that the game is huge, it would probably take at least two Blu-Ray Discs because of the huge enviornment, graphics and detail needed. But I also agree that we need something new, like TWEWY did. I'd like a bit of both, but if I had to choose, I'd choose FFVII over Xenogears because I liked the characters a bit more.
@Jiyaijo Advent Children is full CGI and the machine it probably runs on surpasses the PS3, otherwise we'd have games looking that good since 2 or 3 years ago. At best, it will most likely look similar to XIII or Versus XIII. You know that dual layer Blu-ray discs can fit 50 GB of data in it, right? If a remake of FFVII would be made, it will fit a single dual layer BD. I think no game has ever gone above 30 GB before. Not even FFXIII or MGS4.
@thugsnw Advent Children is available for Blu-Ray on the PS3 though. It probably handles 1080p, which is also very good. I don't think you should compare XIII with Versus, Versus looks way better, that's what I got from Famitsu and the trailers. 50 GB is indeed a lot, but VII is so incredibly huge. I mean, so many city's to go through. Midgar alone is huge, but the world beyond is massive. Imagine that on 1080p. Perhaps one Blu-Ray disc can handle it, but it would be exclusive as well.
@Jiyaijo Okay, it seems you don't understand one thing. Blu-ray video and Blu-ray games are two different things. For one, Blu-ray video is always at 1080p, encoded in H.264 AVC video and AC3 audio (6 channels), housed in an *.m2ts container. Blu-ray games are made up of real 3D models of polygons in addition to textures. No games can run at full 1080p (1920x1080 pixels) because the PS3 won't be able to handle it. Unless maybe framerate can be compromised, running at 30 fps or below.
@thugsnw Most PS3 games run at 720p, sometimes lower. The game closes to running 1080p I think is Gran Turismo 5. So you see, Advent Children is made up of video that's why it could look that beautiful.
@thugsnw About all games on the PS3 are 720p, which is still good. I'm not really paying too much attention to the graphics, since nowadays w/e comes out on the PS3 looks fine by me. Nothing looks 'bad' in my opinion. I got Split/Second Velocity which is close to 1080p as well, it has noted as available on the back of the cover. Advent Children is my favourite movie, how badass would a Crisis Core, FF7, Dirge of Cerberus and Advent Children Collection be on the PS3? Off the charts, incredible!
@Jiyaijo Well, there's already a "Compilation of FFVII", which brands everything FFVII including Before Crisis, Crisis Core, Advent Children, Last Order, the Denzel short, and Dirge of Cerberus -- not necessarily put together in one package. I doubt Nomura would make all what you said in one or two discs then repackage them as it requires at least an HD conversion. 720p is okay for most of us who are used to it, but if you've seen a true 1080p game, you may never want to go back.
@thugsnw Agreed. It's too good to be true. I don't think we'll ever see a package like that. We can only hope. I was hoping that every game would be 1080p on the PS3, but I was wrong. I guess not everyone is ready to make 1080p supported games. Btw, the Gamescom is starting in a few hours. A Sony press conference will be held, I can't wait for whatever they will be announcing!
@Jiyaijo Nice. Hopefully we'll have news we'd like to hear. Yeah, PS3 can only handle 720p at 60 fps, sometimes even lower depending on how much is rendered on-screen. Given that the PS3 is nearly 5 years old, that's still very acceptable. 1080p gaming falls to owners with a killer PC rig, who are more elitist and obnoxious than any PS3 "fanboy". Haha.
@thugsnw Yeah, PC nerds rage at w/e they got. I can't game on the PC, I totally hate it. Unless you attach a joystick on it, I can't play on it. It doesn't feel good. I'll always choose a console over the PC, no matter how powerful the PC is!
@thugsnw There is a ZOE HD Collection for PS3, I'd love a ZOE3 after it. But ZOE for 3DS has been announced what you just showed me. I don't think it's a complete new ZOE though, probably 1 or 2 again. Just as MGS3 (It has a 3D version for 3DS and an HD collection for PS3). Too bad. Btw, I'm totally pumped up for Uncharted 3. A new trailer was shown at Gamescom, type Uncharted 3 Gamescom trailer! and enjoy! Can't wait for that epic game! PS3 is also priced down to 249 bucks worldwide!
@Jiyaijo Yeah, didn't say it was ZOE3. What I said was "what could be the next best thing". It could be spin-off or a side story since iterations of games on a handheld are unlikely to be a "main title" . But who cares! It's a new ZOE game! Probably... Yes, I also know about ZOE HD months ago and also excited for it. On Uncharted 3, did you see the airport gameplay? It's extraordinary. Yeah, 160 GB down to ~$250 while the 320 GB model down to ~$300. Damn Sony. Why now?
@thugsnw Indeed, I'll definitely get ZOE for 3DS. Will be great, same as the HD collection. Uncharted 3's plane gameplay looks amazing, the story will probably be top-notch as always and the presentation is marvelous. Can't wait to finish it and get online. I bought mines a year ago for 350 with 2 controllers and Uncharted 2 along with it. I then bought the first Uncharted for 20 bucks and played them in the right order. I still think it's a sweet deal even though it's priced down now.
@Jiyaijo Lucky you. Me, I got nil but the 160 GB PS3. Bundles for our region is rare, then US consoles are harder to come buy that makes them more expensive. I want to grab Uncharted 2, but the GOTY version here is Asian with no US version in sight. My choices are to get it on Amazon when I make my BF3 pre-order or buy if from Play-Asia. Yeah, Uncharted 3 will simply improve what Uncharted 2 did great. That's easily gonna be another GOTY I bet.
@thugsnw I never bought a console without a bundle. There is simply no point in getting a console with no bundle, the 2 controllers attracted me the most though. Those are expensive. Uncharted is just incredibly good. Hats off for Naughty Dog, they could, if they wanted to, make Uncharted 4 and 5. I think they'll end it with 3 but if they wanted, they could seriously continue this franchise. I believe Uncharted 3 will be GOTY. True there.
@Jiyaijo Well lucky you for having options. Here, it's survival of the fittest. You snooze; you lose. Unless it's the regular PS3 package, then you've got nothing to worry about. Uncharted could end at 3, or it won't. Who knows. These developers are hard to read these days. But at least after 3, it's not the immediate end of Uncharted -- unless you don't intend to get a Vita. Whichever the case, I'm sure Uncharted games are worth at least two replays. For now, that's good enough.
@thugsnw Indeed, I'll definitely get back to Uncharted 1 and 2 just to play it on its hardest mode and get all the Treasures! It's that fun! I don't know if I'll get a Vita, because the only game that attracts me is Uncharted. I expect a lot more good titles, otherwise I'll play my soon-to-come 3DS. It has better games atm. I hope Sony learned from the PSP, which was only popular in Japan.
@Jiyaijo My decision to get a Vita is on the fence as well. I've read that many (if not most) titles will be in digital form only. I don't want that. I want to be able to hold my game and store it someplace when I'm not playing it. I don't want everything on the Vita's memory because its memory probably has limited capacity -- maybe more limited than we would think. That said, I don't want to have to delete a game just to make room for one more, and re-download whichever game I deleted.
@Jiyaijo I hope Sony rethinks this and gives options like they did on the PSP. But even then digital distribution failed and couldn't offer everything the UMD had. Remember before the PSP go had CFW? Yeah, they couldn't play KHBBS and it's an important game in Sony's handheld. Although, Vita's digital distribution will probably get full support from everyone...not just every Vita owner. On the plus side, lineup looks nice, especially Uncharted and LBP.
@thugsnw Indeed, I don't like the games on the PSN either. I got Infamous and Death Nation because of the PSN outage, but those two are the only games I got on the PS3 memory. Same with PSP, I didn't get any PSN games. I want my cover, book and disc in my hands. I don't even like the lineup, only Uncharted interests me. Perhaps Gravity Daze, it looks unique, I'll see where it goes. If they release BBSV2 later on for Vita, perhaps then I'll get it. It's kinda pricy as well.
@Jiyaijo Flower on PSN's pretty nice. So will Journey when it comes out. But they're exclusive arcade games for the PS3 so maybe those don't count. Back to Vita, now that I look at Uncharted GA, it kind of looks like Uncharted 1 on the PS3 graphics-wise. Maybe it's what they could achieve on the platform right now. Either way, it looks sweet for a handheld game. Gravity Daze had my attention, too. It's looks beautiful and the gameplay's interesting.
@thugsnw Agree. It looks a bit like Uncharted 1. But one thing bothers me: We're seeing a whole new cast of characters in the game. Marissa, Dante...who are they? If they only appear in a port, then that means they either move far far away or die at the end of the game. The game will take place between 1 and 2. I guess it's the only game I'd want to play along with BBSV2 for Vita atm. Gravity Daze? I need to see more footage to really see if it's good.
@Jiyaijo Golden Piss, er, Abyss could be a side story just like many games on handhelds with console counterparts. Some characters from the main games may make a cameo, but they'll probably be limited to appear in one or two scenes having short conversations with Nate. Yeah, Gravity Daze has yet to prove that it's worth it. But I like what I'm seeing so far.
@thugsnw Marissa and Dante have a significant role in Golden Abyss though. Meaning something big will happen with them in the end. Just like Deimos and Kratos' mom, they died in Ghost of Sparta because that's the only game you see them in and it has to be clear WHY they weren't in other God of War titles. A good way: Death. Not sure Sony Bend would let Marissa and Dante die in Uncharted, but it is a possibility. I'd welcome it, makes things more dramatic.
@Jiyaijo Where'd you read that? Has the plot been revealed (if it has, won't them dying at the end be a huge spoiler?) or was it mere speculation? I guess it could end up like God of War, filling gaps in-between the main games. But I don't know; I feel a passable, side-story vibe to it.
@thugsnw No no, I wouldn't tell a spoiler to you if I knew how it went. That'd be a low blow, I'd hate it myself. It was just mere speculation. Ready at Dawn studios killed Deimos, but Sony Bend could (!!!) do the same thing with Marissa and Dante. It is a side-story, but if you want side-stories to be more memorable, then you have to do something BIG in it! Crisis Core let a lot of people die, so it became a great game. Same with Ghost of Sparta. Perhaps Uncharted is following that same theory
@Jiyaijo Yeah, drama is a big part of life. Although, Crisis Core isn't really a side-story. It's a prequel to FFVII; just like how Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta are to the console games. But I guess with Zack being the protagonist there, it could be a side-story anyway. Maybe it's the same for Before Crisis and Dirge as their stories don't revolve around Cloud. Well, we'll see if your hunch is right when Uncharted GA gets out. Hey, you plan to grab Battlefield 3?
@thugsnw That's what I meant, with Zack as the protagonist and Vincent as a protagonist in Dirge, It is a side-story but also a prequel / sequel. I hope Before Crisis will be completely remade for the Vita or something, I don't think anyone outside of Japan has ever played it. Shame. I hope Dirge gets an HD remake too or something, the story was pretty fun in it. I enjoyed it for what it's worth. And yeah dude, I will be getting Battlefield 3 over MW3, my PSN name: FenerliTuran - add me!
@Jiyaijo Although, looking at the whole FFVII spectrum, each game released has a different protagonist. In BC, I think you control the Turks; in CC, you control Zack; in FFVII, you have Cloud; and in Dirge, you play as Vincent. Maybe there isn't really one main FFVII game. It's just that FFVII came first and is the one carrying the sole title of "Final Fantasy VII" that everyone thinks it's the main game. Could be all of them make up one big FFVII game. Not sure if I'm making sense. Hehe.
@thugsnw Now I understand where that's coming from. If you put all the FFVII titles together, including the movie, it makes sense. They add up to each other, they really are part of one giant storyline. How awesome would it be to have all of them (the movie seperate) on one disc? You could play from BC to Dirge and watch the movie once more before Dirge! That'd be great! Also, if you buy the PS3 version of BF3, we could play together it's up to you man! I'll add yours soon!
@Jiyaijo Yeah, separate stories viewed from different character angles, lined one after another, that make up one giant, epic FFVII tale. I'd probably end up getting the PS3 version first, then the Xbox one later (since I'm not up to renewing my Gold subscription right now). Just saw the clear PS3 cam footage here, and I say the graphics look magnificent. I want to fly a friggin' jet. Hope the maps are as big as BC2 regardless of what the new and awesome Frosbite 2.0 brought to the game.
@thugsnw Why would you get two copies of one game? I think I mentioned before that I definitely don't like first person shooters, don't expect me being a complete pro at it, I'm not. It's just that my friends and family will be getting BF3 too, so I guess it's fun to just play with them from time to time. Otherwise, I wouldn't buy it. But I guess a little change in the games I play could be nice.
@Jiyaijo I'll the PS3 version because I want to own it on a single disc (seeing as it's going to be a big game and not fit on one DVD) and play free online, not to mention one of my friends will be getting a PS3 soon and I bet he'll get this. I also want the Xbox version because most console BF veterans will play there. If I had a mighty PC, I might get it there, too. Not a big FPS gamer as well. I just like to play FPS games from time to time. Btw, added you on PSN a few minutes ago.
@thugsnw I see. I'm still a student, I'm not earning ....much so I'd never buy the same game on different consoles. I guess you are earning, much more understandable that way. I accepted you man! We can see each other's Trophy list (I don't care much for the Trophies, just so we can see who owns what) and Big news: I ordered God of War Origins, Collection and 3 :D I'm very pleased to have all 5 God of War games soon on my PS3 ! Can't wait to play the God of War franchise.Great story and gameplay
@Jiyaijo I'm still a student, too...technically. Only have my thesis left. And, yes, I'm working right now, but this is just something to do until I graduate. Don't care about trophies either, so you probably won't see me aiming for platinum. I'd probably replay games I've finished when I miss them (like how I'm missing Crysis 2's campaign right now). Only played GOW on the PS2, then those GOWs on the PSP. I'd probably get the Collection for GOW2 later on, then GOW3.
@thugsnw Correct storyline: Chains of Olympus -> God of War -> Ghost of Sparta -> God of war 2 -> God of War 3. When I have all 5, I'll be playing them in that order. At this very moment, I'll play Infamous that I still hadn't gotten around too since the PSN outage. Perhaps I'll try FFXIII after that, not sure yet. I have only played the GoW's on the PSP before, but my PSP is thumbstick is half-broken, I don't know if I'll be able to play Type-0 :(
@Jiyaijo I actually played GOW in the right order up until Ghost of Sparta without doing it on purpose. Means I only have GOW2 and 3 left. Ah, Infamous. I tried Infamous 2 demo, and it's exciting. It kind of feels like Prototype, except you can't jump very high then land and create a crater, and you can shoot lightning bolts (which is a good offensive attack). So I'm looking to get the Infamous series as well. Try letting a technician work on your PSP. It's probably a minor problem.
@thugsnw I guess it's also safe to start with the 'worst' GOW game: Chains of Olympus. I'm actually glad that's the starter of a greater game. Infamous never grabbed my attention, same as Prototype. But I saw the Prototype 2 demo and it made me even more excited than I ever was for Infamous. One annoying thing: The enemies can shoot you from any angle. That could be annoying enough for me to quit, but I'll see soon. I hope the controls can be changed in Type-0, not feeling like paying a technici
@Jiyaijo Chains wasn't that bad. Of course, it didn't have the more epic boss battle that Ghost of Sparta had, but the scene with Titan was pretty nice. I didn't care for inFamous either until I played the demo of the sequel. Prototype wowed me when I played it first, and probably it was the first PS3 game I got to try (got it on Xbox, though). It kind of bored me later on, but I'll get back to it soon I guess (as soon as I finish other games, hehe). Your PSP analog may only need cleaning.
@thugsnw Chains had only 3 boss fights and the story didn't get much interesting until we clearly saw Calliope. I just started Infamous now and I am not impressed. It's a decent game, but I've seen better so it doesn't WOW me as much as I'd hope. I'll finish the game, but I'm not sure if I'll ever get the 2nd one, perhaps when it's extremely cheap. my PSP analog stick doesn't respond well, I push forward it goes to the right etc. It's annoying to deal with it constantly.
@Jiyaijo Well, it was the first GOW handheld game, so it's good for what it is. I just wish they're a bit longer. Maybe inFamous had missions with little differences on each, so it may feel repetitive. I'm just guessing, though, but that's what made me put aside Prototype for a while. My PSP analog stick kind of does the same, and it started happening when I played MGSPW. It doesn't always move on its own, but it's annoying when it does. Hey, do you play SSFIV?
@thugsnw Yeah indeed, I like GOW anyway. Infamous has plenty of sidemissions but they can get repetitive. Some of the main missions look like sidemissions as well. I'm playing as I'm telling you, it's definitely not a bad game but yeah...just expected more from it. Our PSP shares the same fate. Sorry man, I don't have SSFIV. I'll probably get Street Fighter x Tekken when it comes out, but I want to buy Mortal Kombat more. Great fighting game.
@Jiyaijo inFamous has that vibe. A lot of people like doing mundane missions...as long as they have cool abilities. Maybe I do, too, to some extent. Even though my PSP does the ghost analog thing, it doesn't bother me much when I was using it a lot. Too bad about SF4, it's a very good fighting game. Very technical, but maybe not as technical as SF3. I'll get MK eventually. I need the price to go down first. It's selling here for like $60.
@thugsnw Yeah the sidemissions aren't that bad in Infamous, I guess It's repetitive but fun so it doesn't annoy you. The graphics are pretty bad when Cole talks to someone else, the characters look bland even Cole. Shame. SF4 is great I'm sure, but I never got it somehow. I saw the release of MK and I got more interested for it, but I'll wait as well since it's 50 bucks here! The PS3 version has Kratos though! Awesome! Oh and there is a new trailer for XIII-2, type in 'Quest for Lightning' :)
@Jiyaijo That's why I'm getting the PS3 copy of MK: because it has a badass exclusive character, unlike in the 360 version. If you thought inFamous's models were bland-looking, wait 'til you see Prototype. The graphics isn't its strength, but it can distract you anyway. You should try SF4. If you're gonna get it, make sure you grab the Arcade Edition. It's a lot of fun. MK didn't win me since MK4, but now that it's going back to its roots, I'm intrigued. Very intrigued.
@thugsnw When we both get our MK copies, we'll play online and fight each other! Now that'll be awesome! But yes, Infamous' graphics aren't its strong points, but the gameplay distracts it so It's not that bad. I don't know if I'll ever get SF4, there is no point in getting different kinds of fighting games (when all I'll play is 1 fighting game; MK) I'm glad that MK went back to its roots, because MK9 is the best MK ever released. Can't wait to have it.
@Jiyaijo Well, not sure if we'll ever enjoy it online. I'm reading that online play's a bit laggy and we live different countries (which may be far from each other for all we know). Guess if you're only playing one fighting game, you don't have to buy another. Me, I sometimes like playing others such as Tekken, MK, MVC, Naruto... But I play SF4 almost everyday, like a warm-up before playing another game. I dunno, everything about it is just addictive -- the fights, combos, technicalities.
@thugsnw That's too bad to hear, I hope the online connectivity isn't as bad as you said. We'll have to wait and see for that. But I can agree with what you said about SF4, I'd probably start up with MK all the time too if I had it. Me and my brother want to fight each other on it. We want to see who's better at a fighting game like MK. I might get UMVC3 though, that's a different style of fighting. Perhaps a little variety won't hurt.
@Jiyaijo Possible it MK has bad netcode. My friend also loved MK -- god forbid, he even liked MK vs DC Universe, which was terrible from any angle -- and he also has a bro whom he can fight with. Unfortunately, my little bro isn't into games like me, so all I have left are friends (whom I rarely see) and random online folks. MVC3 was all right, but I didn't like it as much since it's too flashy and has so much going on-screen. I'll likely grab UMVC3 despite that, though.
@thugsnw MK vs DC looked terrible from my angle as well, that game did not impress me one bit. I can understand that your bro is not into games, I love sports as well but I'm like the only one in this house that likes it. Can't talk about it or play it with anyone! Yeah just with friends but everyone is busy with school/girls/money etc. just random life. Anyhow, I'm glad I never got MVC3 now I'll get UMVC3 instead! Looks good to me! Also, I wish Square made Dissidia for PS3! It'd be amazing!!
@Jiyaijo Ahh, sports. I don't like them either. Nobody actually follows a sport around here, except maybe my mom on special occasions (particularly boxing). Never had MVC3 either, though I played it at a friend's house and it looked all right. I want to get the Special Edition for PS3, though, for the case and artbook (and maybe free DLC); then UMVC3 for Xbox. Dissidia on the PS3 looks like a good idea, but I hope they'd polish the dialogue a lot. Some of the voicework was horrible.
@thugsnw I'd include these characters for Dissidia PS3: Warrior of Light/Garland - Firion/Emperor - Onion Knight/Cloud of Darkness - Cecil/Golbez - Bartz/Exdeath - Terra/Kefka - Cloud/Sephiroth - Squall/Ultimecia - Zidane/Kuja - Tidus/Jecht - Yuna/Shuyin - Shantotto/Prishe - Vaan/Vayne - Lightning/Jill Nabato - Noctis/Stella. 30 characters for the first PS3 Final Fantasy. They could add another character for each FF in the second Dissidia for PS3. (Yeah I just made up all that, not too hard)
@Jiyaijo You're a big Dissidia geek, aren't you? Hehe. I tried playing Dissidia, but I never got into it. It's not boring -- it's actually a pretty good fighter, and it's got cohesive RPG elements that make it feel like a distinguishable FF game. Dialogue and voicework are left to be desired, though. Not sure if they improved on Duodecim, but I'm not that interested to find out. Despite how I feel about it, I think it'd go places if the PS3 had its own version of the game.
@thugsnw Duodecim was far better than the original. It had a storyline in which you could actually walk and explore the field for enemies. It also had everything the original had but MORE. It even included the original story after you beat the Duodecim story. So there was plenty to do and gain. I was impressed by it, but I just want a better Dissidia because it deserves one. Imagine the graphics, story, the bigger roster and online gameplay. It's pure WIN. A pre-order is inevitable.
@Jiyaijo Yeah, I saw that overworld thing in some of the screens before the game was out. It was a pretty nice touch. Bigger roster? Like two heroes and two villains per FF game? Hmm... Terra/Shadow vs. Kefka/? for VI, Cloud/Tifa vs. Sephiroth/Rufus for VII, Squall/Irvine vs. Edea/Seifer for VIII, Zidane/Amarant (or Steiner or Vivi) vs. Kuja/Beatrix for IX, Tidus/Kimahri vs. Jecht/Seymour for X, and Basch/Balthier vs. Vayne/Gabranth for XII... It could work.
@thugsnw Agreed my man! Two heroes and villains is a nice way to start on Dissidia. They could always expand it. Oh and, TGS will show us 18 new PS VITA games. That's something to look forward too!! And everyone is expecting a KH Collection for PS3. We'll see soon enough!
@Jiyaijo Not sure if Square would have something interesting to announce at TGS. I doubt Versus XIII would be there. Type-0, maybe. KH collection? Probably just KH 3D. I hope some of those Vita games are originals I'm gonna like. Hey, maybe you haven't heard: Skyward Sword's getting a special bundle. It will include a golden Zelda Wii Remote Plus, the game, plus a music CD. Tuck it all in a nice box and I'll be sold. I wished there was more, though -- like an artbook or a figurine.
@thugsnw Square will show XIII-2, Type-0, KH3D and most likely a KH Collection everyone has been waiting for. They didn't mention Versus XIII, so that's a downer. I already knew about the Skyward Sword pre-order. I think it's great for 70 bucks, except I don't know a site where to pre-order it since I live in Europe. No idea, have to find out. Btw, I finished Infamous and it has a great ending, still a decent game nothing more. Playing FFXIII right now and I'm lovin' it, except the linear parts.
There are 3 unannounced games for the PS3. KH Collection and Versus XIII may be among them, but I won't hold my breath...for now. Tried Amazon? I'd like to get my hands on that special bundle myself. I'd give inFamous a go down the road, but now I'm playing MGS4 and Back to the Future (Episode 1 is free on US PSN). Xbox I'm playing Crysis 2 for the third time and playing Gears of War campaign co-op with my bro.
@thugsnw The link you send me oddly enough doesn't work, but I believe what you said. If there are 3 unannounced games for the PS3, then I hope everyone will be 'pleasantly' surprised. Versus XIII might show a new trailer, maybe a trailer for KH Collection (or just the announcement) and who knows what the other one is. Amazon is CreditCard only, which I don't have. I need through iDeal which is the safest method !! Also, FFXIII probably has the best combat system. It's a shame it's so linear...
@Jiyaijo You have to replace "(dot)" with an actual dot, because YT doesn't actual links in the comments (maybe to circumvent link spammers). Maybe you can get SS on eBay when it's out. I don't have a credit card either and I probably never will. Let's just hope SE doesn't leave fans scratching their heads once more, but I have a good feeling with SE in this year's TGS. Is XIII as linear as Crisis Core? Just got the FF7 AEC with the FFXIII demo. Wish the movie had English subs.
@thugsnw Oh come on, I'm not stupid, I know that (dot) needs to be replaced with an actual dot. I did it and Error 404 came up, several times! Yeah I hope SE doesn't let us down. I hope they reveal enough to keep everyone pleased. XIII is probably even more linear than Crisis Core. Crisis Core had sidemissions right from the beginning and let us walk through Shinra and a part of Midgar. Many accepted Crisis Core as it is because It's a portable game anyway. XIII however....
@thugsnw XIII however is a console game, expectations are high seeing as how it's a part of the FF lineup. But there are no sidemissions! I'm at Chapter 4 now, kinda busy with school and work so I haven't played it for a while, but there is no sidemission to do up until now. I've been going straight ahead. The story is interesting, the gameplay is probably the best in the series but the linearity really is a huge drawback. I can't help but feel dissapointed, the story and gameplay keep me going.
@Jiyaijo Haha. Sorry if you're offended by that. It's just a lot of people copy and paste the link I put in the comments as is. You can try and put in the h.ttp:// whatever in front (not that it matters). Sucks for XIII, but lately I'm not up for doing side-quests and whatnot, so playing through the story may be enough for me. Let's hope TGS is a good one this year. Anyway, about the SS bundle, Europe has its own so maybe you can get it in your local store or something.
@thugsnw Now I'm hoping that Square-Enix somehow releases Type-0 for the Vita...(that would actually make more sense but Square doesn't always succeed with marketing strategies).
I asked about BF3 because I'm so torn between getting the 360 copy or the PS3 copy because EA hasn't released any BF3 trailer with the game running on Xbox yet. Then again, EA and Sony entered into a deal or something, so it'd be natural for EA to gimp Microsoft's sales for the game and make those who own both consoles get the PS3 version. Recently found out Activision never made trailers of COD running on PS3, too. My PSN ID: bytemedeep. I'll add you later when I get the chance.
@Jiyaijo Guess what? I just discovered that Greg Kasavin is the Creative Director for the 360 exclusive arcade game, Bastion. Mind = blown. My respect for him just soared.
it is a real good game i like the special attacks but it kinda felt like a MMORPG to me just for how the combat was

ff12 was most definitely the best of all HANDS DOWN. wish they would come back out with one like this...
kristoffpistoff8 4 days ago

In the review of FFX, the reviewer still had some hair. In this one, he's gone bald. LOL.

@Jiyaijo Years can really change a man's appearance. It's a gap of 5 or so years, I think.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw I know, as men, most of us go bald sadly. I'm not, but still enough chance of losing my hair in the forthcoming years. However, I just saw the laughable side on this one. Btw, this dude didn't review FFXIII though. He probably quit or something?
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Haha. I think my hairline's starting to recede. Dammit. But some ladies are kind of into that...I think. Yep, I'll just keep telling myself that. Anyway, there are a lot of new faces on GS, so maybe the job of reviewing XIII has been given to them. Not sure if Kasavin had quit as I don't really follow the site. But it would be a shame if he did. Newer faces don't do a good job of reviewing games for me. Not like Gerstmann and Kasavin.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw Well if you look like Vin Diesel, then yes, some women love bald men. Agree with the other part, this guy reviews pretty well. The one that reviewed XIII reviewed good as well, not a really big complaint to the reviews. In fact, I think Gamespot gives great detailed reviews most of the time! I like their reviews a lot more than IGN's which is completely biased and sponsored by the developers.
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Oh, come on. You don't have to look like Vin Diesel to make women like bald (or balding) men. You'd be surprised how much open they are when it comes to that. I really stopped watching GS reviews on current-gen titles -- at least games that came out starting 3 years ago (with probably the exception of some handheld games). Even G4 reviews are crappier since then or maybe even a bit before then. Really, what's going on here?
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw I don't know man, I like the detailed reviews more, which Gamespot does. Now that you mention Bastion, GS has the longest and detailed review of it. IGN has a 2 minute review of it and the dude yaps through it. Supergiant Games made Bastion, I'm surprised Kasavin is the Creative Director there! It's a nice step forward in his career, I'm a PS3-owner so I couldn't play Bastion, but I would like him to do some exclusives or other games for the PS3 as well. Bastion seems like good stuff
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Well, yeah. But if you like detail, you should watch GT reviews. Watch out, though, because some of their reviews have spoilers. Bastion's pretty new, but who knows... Maybe with time, it would head over to PS3 just like Limbo. I'm firstly an Xbox gamer (at least that's what I owned first), but I haven't bought the game yet. I only see people saying good things about it plus the trailer. It's just recently that I owned a PS3 as well.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw The GT reviews sound like a robot is doing the reviews, like he's reading it straight out and revealing spoilers along the way, I did not like their reviews. Agree with Limbo, that's a very good platform just released for PS3! But that's interesting, what made you get a PS3 as well? I was always a PS gamer because I had a Nintendo64, PSX, PS2 and PS3. Never felt like getting an Xbox. Seeing the amount of exclusives the PS3 has, I won't get an Xbox. But what made you get a PS3 anyway?
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
Yep, it's very much scripted. Unlike GS reviews where we can see the reviewers talking. Despite the monotony, they cover a game to its very core. Anyway, I've always been a PS user. It's just this gen I've first owned an Xbox. The 360 has pretty good arcade titles, a robust online service, and nice full games of its own. I've owned a Genesis, PSX, PS2, GCN, DS, and PSP. The PS3 has a lot of remarkable exclusives, such as MGS4, Uncharted, and LBP, to name a couple.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw My cousin had the Genesis as well, good times. I also have a DS and PSP, but I didn't mention it because it's handheld. My PSP was modded and the DS had some pretty innovative games, except I didn't play both that much. Just a few games. I loved Ghost of Sparta and Crisis Core the most, Peace Walker too. And I loved The World Ends With You on the DS. These were great handheld games. The PS3 has indeed great exclusives, even though I didn't like MGS4 as much as I hoped. Uncharted wins.
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Yeah, heard MGS4 wasn't that great. I played with my PSP and DS a lot before I got an Xbox and PS3. Personally, I though Peace Walker was perfect. The PSP also had a pretty good KH game with the best battle system so far. Crisis Core was okay. GOW games were nice, but a bit short. Overall it didn't have as many memorable games like the DS. On the DS, my favorite was TWEWY. I also liked the Hotel Dusk series, Layton series, DQ9, Ghost Trick -- just too many to mention.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw True, the PSP had just a few memorable games. It was Quality over Quantity, but the DS had Quality in a different way and in a bigger Quantity. TWEWY was indeed my fave, I would play that game if it were completely revamped for any other platform. The two Zelda games on it were pretty good as well. But I mainly hold my focus on the bigger consoles, the PS2 and PS3. The PS2 has a great library, the PS3 will have games like Versus XIII, KH3, UChart3, XIII-2, Mass Effect 3 looking forward!
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo People were hoping for a TWEWY 2. I'm not sure that's a good idea. I'm perfectly happy with it being on its own. Yeah, PS2 had a lot of great titles. SOTC, Ico, DMC, GOW series, P3, P4, Okami, Bully, ZOE 2, MGS3, KH series, FFXII (in my opinion), and a lot more. The PS3 has a lot of good ones, too, and it's still building its library. Can't wait to play ones I missed so far.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw TWEWY 2 wouldn't make much sense seeing as how the plot was played and the ending. I'm glad it was ever made, extremely creative and very fun. The PS3 is getting a great library too, I'm busy with Mass Effect 2 mixing it up with the very fun but hard racing game Split/Second Velocity and again playing the extremely hard Death Nation. Three different games I'm playing at the moment based on the mood I'm in. Already beated RDR, Uchart 1 and 2 and Enslaved. Many more to come!! :)
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Good thing we're on the same page about TWEWY. A spin-off may work, though. On the PS3, GT5 and Motorstorm Apocalypse look sick. Definitely getting them later on. Only game I finished so far is Uncharted. Now, working on MGS4 and LittleBigPlanet. Heavy Rain coming up after. Want to grab an Uncharted 2 GOTY, unfortunately they only sell Asian copies of it locally. Might have to turn to eBay to get R1 version. I'm also looking at inFamous 1 and 2.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw I'm definitely no fan of racing games, but Split/Second Velocity is awesome because you can trigger explosions during gameplay which works well and is fun! GT-series went backwards after 4, Motorstorm on the PSP was good! Heavy Rain is a movie-esque game, with more than 20 different endings. I didn't like it much because it works slow and is not really a game anymore. I got Infamous 1 for free because of the PSN black-out, I still have to play it along with FFXIII lol !
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo I like playing interactive movies sometimes to mix things up, and Heavy Rain is a perfect fit (aside from MGS4, hehe). I agree, Motorstorm on the PSP is amazing. Never really followed any GT games because I'm not big on racing games myself. GT5 looks spectacular, though.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw Agree with that. I'd also like to mention that Square is looking into HD compatibility for the PS3, meaning they might place PS2 games on the PS3. We might see FFX & X-2 combination on one blu-ray disc or Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 (perhaps even Chain of Memories with it) on one blu-ray disc for the PS3. That would be awesome, I think it would sell like cupcakes for obese people do.
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Eh, I would probably pass on a KH HD collection. I already have every KH game on the PS2, including their Final Mix versions. But I may reconsider if they threw BBS in there. Hehe. If they brought FFX to XII to the PS3/Xbox, I may also get it. HD reincarnations should be kept to a minimum. They should focus in making newer games instead.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw Well my younger cousin (at the age of 6) raged on my PS2 a few years ago and broke it completely. My aunt wanted to get me a new one, but PS3 just arrived and I was like 'It's ok, no need for it' being the gentleman that I am. So, no PS2 for years and I couldn't play PS2 games after that so I'm down for any collection. GOW collection, ZOE collection, ICO collection will be the ones I'm getting and hopefully the KH or FF collection for the PS3 too! I don't mind the collections at all!
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Whoa, that sucks. And you can't beat the shit out of him (or her), which is unfair. Guess you really need those collections. As for me, I still have my SCPH-39001 (fat PS2) breathing. The only issue it has is the disc tray. It came to a point that it almost immediately closes once you open it, giving you a couple of seconds to put the disc in. I think there's a problem with the motor or something. Maybe I should have it looked at and get the entrails cleaned at the same time.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw Your comment made me laugh, disc tray closing quickly like it's fucking with you lmfao. Hi, I'm the PS2 and I'm the boss, you can only enter a disc for a few secs, thank you. Lololol. If it won't cost you much, you could fix it. But it's not a huge problem if you stand next to it with the disc though. And yes, sadly I can't beat the shit out of him. I just put up a 'fake' smile on my face when he did that, like Sai from Naruto (if you know him that is)
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Yeah, quite annoying. But at least it didn't have major problems over 8 years of use (although, it's being used less the last 3 years of that) -- even the lens had never gotten replaced. Need a component cable for it so that I could actually play it again. Sai? Yes, that blank-faced ninja who wears a small shirt to showcase his belly button. Must be gay. Haha. Well, lucky for your cousin you're not an ANBU ninja.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw The PS2 was pretty solid, my cousins raged from time to time on it and it still worked until my 6-year old cousin came along and tested his epic powers on it. A bit too strong for a 6-year old, that's for sure. Agree with Sai, he must be gay. I'm actually i'm not an ANBU ninja myself, or I would have to kill a few people around here lol. Well, I guess our favourite franchises are Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts? We could agree on that.
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Maybe your cousin's actually Chuck Norris's illegitimate child. That would explain why your PS2 broke. Hehe. Yeah, FF and KH are long fave franchises of mine, but recently I play more action games than RPG. Shooters, too. Although, it appears I can't play a shooter game for more than 2 hours. Haha.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw Don't know about the Chuck Norris part, but the kid turns violently green when he's angry. He might have something of Hulk in him hehe. Nowadays we don't see much JRPG's, it's mostly Western RPG's like Mass Effect and Fallout. Don't get me wrong, I love Mass Effect but I want more JRPG's! I miss playing a good ol' FF and/or KH game to pour my hours in it. Now it's pouring my hours in Mass Effect 2 and thinking back to those good ol' days. First Person Shooters? I'll pass.
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo I wanted to try Mass Effect at first, but now I'm not so sure. Maybe it's because I've never played an RPG besides JRPGs. Skyrim, however, looks tempting. Perhaps that'll be my first. Anyway, if you're seeing a lack of JRPGs these days, why not play older ones you missed? If you have a PSP and open to running custom firmware (or maybe go legit), you can play a few PSX games. Maybe replay ones you finished already but miss anyway.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw Trust me, play Mass Effect 2! It is incredible and huge, I've already poured 30 hours in it and it's still going. The game starts a little bit slow, but then it quickly gets really good. I have a PSP with FFVII, VIII and IX. Obviously I've played them many times and I'll play them again but there are a lot of PS3 games I don't own yet, I want to play new games atm! That's why I'm missing JRPGS. However other titles like Mortal Kombat and God of War-series are also the ones I want!
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo I don't know... ME2's trailer didn't lure me in. Just curious, do I need to play the first to get the second? You can also try FFVI, which competes as one of the best FFs around. Not sure if it's out on PSN, but if you have a CFW, you can easily fabricate a copy that the PSP recognizes. On PS3, try Eternal Sonata, Tales of Vesperia, White Knight Chronicles, Star Ocean 4, Valkyria Chronicles, etc. I want MK and GOW, too. Must. Play. Them.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw There is a comic in the PS3 version, it tells the whole story of ME1 and you can take decisions while at it. You might wanna give the first game a try, but I've got a PS3 so I couldn't. The comic was enough for me. I played VI on my PSP a long time ago, but I enjoyed IV a lot more if I have to compare it. VI didn't lure me in somehow. Tales of Vesperia for PS3? Where? Japanese? No thanks. MK, GOW, DMC4, Ninja Gaiden, Bayonetta, Batman. Must Play Them INDEED.
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo What so there's no ME1 on the PS3 that's why you settled for the comic found in ME2? And does that mean Tales of Vesperia didn't get a US version for the PS3? Oh, yeah. Arkham City will be here soon. I heard Bayonetta's pretty bad on the PS3. Might get the 360 copy. There's also Resistance 3, which looks interesting. Only Resistance game I tried was on the PSP.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw Wait you didn't know about ME1 and the fact there is no English version of Tales of Vesperia for PS3? Oh wow dude! Microsoft owns the rights for ME1 but I don't know why the English version for PS3 was never released, sad. Bayonetta is already patched for the PS3, it's on par if not better now than the 360 version. I still need to play Arkham Asylum, let alone City. Resistance doesn't really interest me though.
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Nope. I never really cared enough for ME to know. Didn't know about Tales of Vesperia either. Weird how the Xbox version got localized in the states yet it's a "no" for the PS3. Reminds me of another Tales game: Tales of Symphonia was localized for the GCN, but the PS2 version didn't get any. Perhaps the Tales series hated Sony since then? Haha. As for Bayonetta, I planned to get it on Xbox way before so that's where I'll get it. Might get PS3 copy of Arkham City, though.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw True, I didn't care for ME before too. Until my friends started playing ME2 on their PC etc. I heard all positive things about it. Then It got me excited so I got it for 30 bucks and it's well worth! A very unique and great RPG up in the galaxy in which you visit many planets and explore them! The Tales series is a real downer because of the different platforms. Vesperia came for the 360, but Tales of Graces will be exclusive for the PS3. Weird 'marketing' strategy if you ask me...
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Honestly the only Tales games I liked were on the SNES/PSX platforms. The Tales of Phantasia and Tales of Destiny games. You could try them on your PSP if you don't mind old school SNES-y graphics. One RPG I'm waiting to be translated is Tengai Makyou ZERO for the SFC. No, it's not an official English translation. Since it's on SFC, fan translators will take care of it. But it's been passed from one group to the next for almost 10 years, it's depressing.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw I've played Tales of Phantasia, pretty fun game but dated. Oh wow, you still have the SFC? Or do you have an Emulator? I don't know about the game you're mentioning, but I just checked it and it looks like a classic and familiar RPG. A good one to pour your hours in if you're in that type of mood, but I can see why you want it translated obviously. Btw, Folklore for the PS3 looks like a unique poetic RPG. Might wanna check it out!
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo No, I played it on an emu. But I plan to get an SNES later on since I bought Tengai Makyou on eBay. It's a game that really can't be brought over to US shores because the series hinge on the satire of Japanese culture. The SFC game is only a spin-off, and the main games were either ported or remade for last- to current gen consoles. Xbox 360 has a remake of the first in the series, Ziria (pronounced Jiraiya). I'll check Folklore out.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw That's interesting, I never heard of that game. But it's mainly because old RPG's never grabbed my attention as much. FF, Xenogears and Chrono Trigger/Cross were the ones I played back in the day. Still play them from time to time on the PSP, but I was hoping for some new innovative RPG's on the PS3. Sadly, we'll have to wait because there just ain't that many. Folklore is one, FFXIII-2 and Versus obviously and perhaps the one we're waiting for to be announced: Kingdom Hearts 3!
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo I stumbled on it when I first discovered emulators for the SNES (or emus in general). Back then I didn't have a PSX, but I had FFVII finished at the time thanks to a friend who had one, so my source for console games was an emu. There I played classics like FFVI (or FFIII), Chrono Trigger, Seiken Densetsu 3 -- among others. Tengai Makyou looked beautiful and I wanted it translated by the translation groups that were so abundant at the time. I think I have a vid of that here.
thugsnw 6 months ago
I want Xenogears remade (kind of), but it's fine even if it won't be. Folklore seems quite old, but it has potential. KH3 won't be in production until KH 3D gets out and Versus XIII finished. I want a Wii, too, so I can play SMG, Mario Kart, Mad World, No More Heroes, Epic Mickey, and the arriving Zelda -- not to mention reply The Wind Waker with a proper video cable. Man, I want so many things. I don't think I'm gonna get rich from all the games and platforms I want to buy. Haha.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw Indeed, there are so many good games out there, It's hard to keep track and play them all. My brother has Wii. I've finished Mad World, No More Heroes 1 and 2, Zelda Twilight Princess and Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2. After that we Brawled a lot and Kart. I guess it's fun from time to time, but there ain't many hardcore games. Twilight Princess and Mario Galaxy are really good, but the others were decent. I set my sight on the many games on the PS3 atm, no more Wii for me!
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo I finished Twilight Princess on the GCN. Still preferred Wind Waker than that one, mainly because WW felt like an adventure (aside from the alluring art direction) while TP felt like a quest -- not that quests are a bad thing. Only WW was...liberating and serene. Nintendo was never about the hardcore, and I like it to be that way. We need games like those. Oh, I'm also interested in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, which is a Wii exclusive.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw Nintendo was never hardcore indeed, but it lacks many third party support. It's the same old stuff in a different way all over again. Zelda, Mario etc. It's the same with every console they bring out. It's fine that they have them, they're great. But seriously, if you want to grab everyone's attention, put different fresh games up there from other developers! The lack of third party support will always put Nintendo 2 steps behind Sony and Microsoft. TP was better on the Wii than GCN btw
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo I don't know. TP has always been planned to be a GCN game, and I'll always prefer to control Link with a standard controller than the Wiimote. Wii TP was kind of rushed and Link there was right-handed (he was always left-handed) because Nintendo had to flip the screen because people would hold the Wiimote on their right hand -- and it'll be awkward if on screen Link was holding the sword with his left.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Maybe Nintendo doesn't want third-party support because they know (or at least Miyamoto) they have a market that will follow them no matter what. Even some "hardcore" gamers play Nintendo. Nintendo has been there before Sony or MS entered mainstream gaming, and it's the only one that survived against the competition. As long as first-party games remain innovative, entertaining, and nostalgic, Nintendo will live.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw The TP Wii version worked extremely well, It got higher scores than the GCN version might I add. I'm definitely pleaesd with it, still play it from time to time just to collect all the Poes. I play Nintendo games too, the games that will come out on the 3DS interest me, they're fun to play when I just don't want a heavily-story-based game. Just a fun game to play for the gameplay alone is satisfying too! It's a nice mix-up, from PS3 to 3DS. I like it. I still think third party support..
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo I think Metacritic says otherwise about TP. I worried about Zeldas that run only on motion control. They might feel...awkward. I hope it goes well with Skyward Sword.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw Should be there. I can count about 10 great games for the 3DS, with MGS3 as the only third party support. That is kind of bad, they should let other developers bring out fun flashy games as well. If all I'm ever going to play on the 3DS is 10 games, I think I'll wait for the 3DS Lite version, and even wait when there is a price drop from it. So Nintendo needs to appeal to me, with Ocarina of Time they already did, but I want more.
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Well what I'm waiting for on the 3DS are the Layton games and KH 3D. I don't know what else to look forward to for now. Might wait for the 3DS Lite as well, but how much slimmer can it get? It's not like the 3DS is any bigger than the DSi. We already have Sony and MS for flashy games. I'd rather have Nintendo preserve their niche or image than be covered in the "wow-ness" that appeal kids these days.
thugsnw 6 months ago
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo I suppose, but I think standard controls should've at least made it as an option. Right, I forgot about Mario Kart 3D and Super Mario 3D. And I guess MGS3D to some extent. I hope Hotel Dusk series continue on the platform, but I doubt it since Cing is no more -- just like Clover Studios. Sigh, why do good development teams have to go?
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw I never played Hotel Dusk, the only games I played on the DS: TWEWY, FFIV, Two Zelda games, Two KH games and that's it. I was halfway through Bowser's inside Story when I realized I wanted a classic Mario game instead of Mario Bros. It was good, but It didn't suck me in as the other titles did. Hotel Dusk looks good, some other developer might just pick it up and make it again for the 3DS. I may be alone on this, but I never wanted SquareSoft to 'die' as well. That made me sad too.
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Hotel Dusk is engaging. It has more of an interactive novel feel than a game, which is cool for what it brings to the dated point-and-click genre. Played Bowser's Inside Story and DQ9 as well, and like you I need to finish them. Bowser's Inside Story is an RPG, though, so it's different from your typical Mario side-scroller. TWEWY is my favorite. You should really try other games like Layton, FF4, Chrono Trigger, Elite Beat Agents, GTA: CW, Ghost Trick, Phoenix Wright, etc.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw I already mentioned FFIV lol, loved it. Played Chrono Trigger on my PSP already and GTA: CW on the PSP. I guess DQ9 is a game I should try, perhaps Hotel Dusk too. But Layton etc. don't interest me really. I'm looking forward to the games on the 3DS. I only wish Nintendo would release a Lite version soon because the 3DS looks like a cheap DS with 3D. That is not good. Once the Lite version comes out, I'll get it. By then, most games I mentioned will be out too!
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Oh, right. Haha. Sorry. Chrono Trigger for the DS has multiple endings, though. But I can't remember if the SNES version has one, too. And you get a poster. DQ9 is good. It feels much like DQ8 for the PS2. Layton is charming. Level 5, the company responsible for DQ8 and DQ9, did a good job capturing old London in a cartoon. The game isn't just puzzles. It has a story, too -- and a pretty good one. 3DS doesn't look cheap. It's glossy and it has weight. It's a machine.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw Yeah I heard that about Trigger, but Trigger didn't capture my attention as much as FFVII and Xenogears did back in the day, and even now. They were all made by SquareSoft, remarkable RPG's, but Chrono Trigger and Cross somewhat too were...just 'less' to me. Xenogears is one I will never forget, a remake would probably make it sell extremely well. The 3DS doesn't feel as good as the DS LITE and XL versions. It really should be made slicker and sweet on many levels. I'll wait for it.
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo I don't know, I sure like the looks of the DSi version better than the 3DS, but 3DS looks better than the Lite. That's just me, I guess. Yeah, compared to FFVII and Xenogears, Chrono Trigger doesn't stand a chance. But the game is special in its own way. The time-traveling part was cool and how timelines are affecting each other. Didn't like Chrono Cross as much as I hoped, though. And, yes, Xenogears needs a proper remake. But I'm happy if nobody touches it, too.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw I guess for many gamers, FFVII, VIII and IX along with Xenogears needs to be remade. Square has all the muscle to do it. Perhaps they could make a full remake of VIII first? Or the more cartoony looking IX? Perhaps as a 'test' to see how it picks up before they do the big boys: VII and Xenogears. With Type-0, FFXIII-2 and KH3D pretty close to being released, Versus XIII and KH3 along with BBS2 is all they'll be working on? A remake along the way could be a great project.
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo I think 4 remakes would be too much. You know how long it takes for them to release a new game, right? I'm okay with Xenogears being remade, but adding 3 original PSX FF games would be obnoxious. I'd rather they make new titles instead -- and they don't have to be an FF or a KH game. We need something new, like TWEWY, but not necessarily a game very much like it.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw True, but you must have seen Advent Children right? Well it looks marvelous, imagine FFVII looking just like that with Cinematic Cutscenes and great graphics. I know that the game is huge, it would probably take at least two Blu-Ray Discs because of the huge enviornment, graphics and detail needed. But I also agree that we need something new, like TWEWY did. I'd like a bit of both, but if I had to choose, I'd choose FFVII over Xenogears because I liked the characters a bit more.
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Advent Children is full CGI and the machine it probably runs on surpasses the PS3, otherwise we'd have games looking that good since 2 or 3 years ago. At best, it will most likely look similar to XIII or Versus XIII. You know that dual layer Blu-ray discs can fit 50 GB of data in it, right? If a remake of FFVII would be made, it will fit a single dual layer BD. I think no game has ever gone above 30 GB before. Not even FFXIII or MGS4.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw Advent Children is available for Blu-Ray on the PS3 though. It probably handles 1080p, which is also very good. I don't think you should compare XIII with Versus, Versus looks way better, that's what I got from Famitsu and the trailers. 50 GB is indeed a lot, but VII is so incredibly huge. I mean, so many city's to go through. Midgar alone is huge, but the world beyond is massive. Imagine that on 1080p. Perhaps one Blu-Ray disc can handle it, but it would be exclusive as well.
Jiyaijo 6 months ago

So you see, Advent Children is made up of video that's why it could look that beautiful.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw About all games on the PS3 are 720p, which is still good. I'm not really paying too much attention to the graphics, since nowadays w/e comes out on the PS3 looks fine by me. Nothing looks 'bad' in my opinion. I got Split/Second Velocity which is close to 1080p as well, it has noted as available on the back of the cover. Advent Children is my favourite movie, how badass would a Crisis Core, FF7, Dirge of Cerberus and Advent Children Collection be on the PS3? Off the charts, incredible!
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Well, there's already a "Compilation of FFVII", which brands everything FFVII including Before Crisis, Crisis Core, Advent Children, Last Order, the Denzel short, and Dirge of Cerberus -- not necessarily put together in one package. I doubt Nomura would make all what you said in one or two discs then repackage them as it requires at least an HD conversion. 720p is okay for most of us who are used to it, but if you've seen a true 1080p game, you may never want to go back.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw Agreed. It's too good to be true. I don't think we'll ever see a package like that. We can only hope. I was hoping that every game would be 1080p on the PS3, but I was wrong. I guess not everyone is ready to make 1080p supported games. Btw, the Gamescom is starting in a few hours. A Sony press conference will be held, I can't wait for whatever they will be announcing!
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Nice. Hopefully we'll have news we'd like to hear. Yeah, PS3 can only handle 720p at 60 fps, sometimes even lower depending on how much is rendered on-screen. Given that the PS3 is nearly 5 years old, that's still very acceptable. 1080p gaming falls to owners with a killer PC rig, who are more elitist and obnoxious than any PS3 "fanboy". Haha.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw Yeah, PC nerds rage at w/e they got. I can't game on the PC, I totally hate it. Unless you attach a joystick on it, I can't play on it. It doesn't feel good. I'll always choose a console over the PC, no matter how powerful the PC is!
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Me either. But I guess for shooters it IS fast to aim and shit. Oh, you want ZOE3, right? Well check out what could be the next best thing:
kotaku.com/5831217/another-day-another-hideo-kojima-tease-this-time-zoe
thugsnw 6 months ago
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Yeah, didn't say it was ZOE3. What I said was "what could be the next best thing". It could be spin-off or a side story since iterations of games on a handheld are unlikely to be a "main title" . But who cares! It's a new ZOE game! Probably... Yes, I also know about ZOE HD months ago and also excited for it. On Uncharted 3, did you see the airport gameplay? It's extraordinary. Yeah, 160 GB down to ~$250 while the 320 GB model down to ~$300. Damn Sony. Why now?
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw Indeed, I'll definitely get ZOE for 3DS. Will be great, same as the HD collection. Uncharted 3's plane gameplay looks amazing, the story will probably be top-notch as always and the presentation is marvelous. Can't wait to finish it and get online. I bought mines a year ago for 350 with 2 controllers and Uncharted 2 along with it. I then bought the first Uncharted for 20 bucks and played them in the right order. I still think it's a sweet deal even though it's priced down now.
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Lucky you. Me, I got nil but the 160 GB PS3. Bundles for our region is rare, then US consoles are harder to come buy that makes them more expensive. I want to grab Uncharted 2, but the GOTY version here is Asian with no US version in sight. My choices are to get it on Amazon when I make my BF3 pre-order or buy if from Play-Asia. Yeah, Uncharted 3 will simply improve what Uncharted 2 did great. That's easily gonna be another GOTY I bet.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw I never bought a console without a bundle. There is simply no point in getting a console with no bundle, the 2 controllers attracted me the most though. Those are expensive. Uncharted is just incredibly good. Hats off for Naughty Dog, they could, if they wanted to, make Uncharted 4 and 5. I think they'll end it with 3 but if they wanted, they could seriously continue this franchise. I believe Uncharted 3 will be GOTY. True there.
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Well lucky you for having options. Here, it's survival of the fittest. You snooze; you lose. Unless it's the regular PS3 package, then you've got nothing to worry about. Uncharted could end at 3, or it won't. Who knows. These developers are hard to read these days. But at least after 3, it's not the immediate end of Uncharted -- unless you don't intend to get a Vita. Whichever the case, I'm sure Uncharted games are worth at least two replays. For now, that's good enough.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw Indeed, I'll definitely get back to Uncharted 1 and 2 just to play it on its hardest mode and get all the Treasures! It's that fun! I don't know if I'll get a Vita, because the only game that attracts me is Uncharted. I expect a lot more good titles, otherwise I'll play my soon-to-come 3DS. It has better games atm. I hope Sony learned from the PSP, which was only popular in Japan.
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo My decision to get a Vita is on the fence as well. I've read that many (if not most) titles will be in digital form only. I don't want that. I want to be able to hold my game and store it someplace when I'm not playing it. I don't want everything on the Vita's memory because its memory probably has limited capacity -- maybe more limited than we would think. That said, I don't want to have to delete a game just to make room for one more, and re-download whichever game I deleted.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo I hope Sony rethinks this and gives options like they did on the PSP. But even then digital distribution failed and couldn't offer everything the UMD had. Remember before the PSP go had CFW? Yeah, they couldn't play KHBBS and it's an important game in Sony's handheld. Although, Vita's digital distribution will probably get full support from everyone...not just every Vita owner. On the plus side, lineup looks nice, especially Uncharted and LBP.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw Indeed, I don't like the games on the PSN either. I got Infamous and Death Nation because of the PSN outage, but those two are the only games I got on the PS3 memory. Same with PSP, I didn't get any PSN games. I want my cover, book and disc in my hands. I don't even like the lineup, only Uncharted interests me. Perhaps Gravity Daze, it looks unique, I'll see where it goes. If they release BBSV2 later on for Vita, perhaps then I'll get it. It's kinda pricy as well.
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Flower on PSN's pretty nice. So will Journey when it comes out. But they're exclusive arcade games for the PS3 so maybe those don't count. Back to Vita, now that I look at Uncharted GA, it kind of looks like Uncharted 1 on the PS3 graphics-wise. Maybe it's what they could achieve on the platform right now. Either way, it looks sweet for a handheld game. Gravity Daze had my attention, too. It's looks beautiful and the gameplay's interesting.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw Agree. It looks a bit like Uncharted 1. But one thing bothers me: We're seeing a whole new cast of characters in the game. Marissa, Dante...who are they? If they only appear in a port, then that means they either move far far away or die at the end of the game. The game will take place between 1 and 2. I guess it's the only game I'd want to play along with BBSV2 for Vita atm. Gravity Daze? I need to see more footage to really see if it's good.
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Golden Piss, er, Abyss could be a side story just like many games on handhelds with console counterparts. Some characters from the main games may make a cameo, but they'll probably be limited to appear in one or two scenes having short conversations with Nate. Yeah, Gravity Daze has yet to prove that it's worth it. But I like what I'm seeing so far.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw Marissa and Dante have a significant role in Golden Abyss though. Meaning something big will happen with them in the end. Just like Deimos and Kratos' mom, they died in Ghost of Sparta because that's the only game you see them in and it has to be clear WHY they weren't in other God of War titles. A good way: Death. Not sure Sony Bend would let Marissa and Dante die in Uncharted, but it is a possibility. I'd welcome it, makes things more dramatic.
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Where'd you read that? Has the plot been revealed (if it has, won't them dying at the end be a huge spoiler?) or was it mere speculation? I guess it could end up like God of War, filling gaps in-between the main games. But I don't know; I feel a passable, side-story vibe to it.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw No no, I wouldn't tell a spoiler to you if I knew how it went. That'd be a low blow, I'd hate it myself. It was just mere speculation. Ready at Dawn studios killed Deimos, but Sony Bend could (!!!) do the same thing with Marissa and Dante. It is a side-story, but if you want side-stories to be more memorable, then you have to do something BIG in it! Crisis Core let a lot of people die, so it became a great game. Same with Ghost of Sparta. Perhaps Uncharted is following that same theory
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Yeah, drama is a big part of life. Although, Crisis Core isn't really a side-story. It's a prequel to FFVII; just like how Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta are to the console games. But I guess with Zack being the protagonist there, it could be a side-story anyway. Maybe it's the same for Before Crisis and Dirge as their stories don't revolve around Cloud. Well, we'll see if your hunch is right when Uncharted GA gets out. Hey, you plan to grab Battlefield 3?
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw That's what I meant, with Zack as the protagonist and Vincent as a protagonist in Dirge, It is a side-story but also a prequel / sequel. I hope Before Crisis will be completely remade for the Vita or something, I don't think anyone outside of Japan has ever played it. Shame. I hope Dirge gets an HD remake too or something, the story was pretty fun in it. I enjoyed it for what it's worth. And yeah dude, I will be getting Battlefield 3 over MW3, my PSN name: FenerliTuran - add me!
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Although, looking at the whole FFVII spectrum, each game released has a different protagonist. In BC, I think you control the Turks; in CC, you control Zack; in FFVII, you have Cloud; and in Dirge, you play as Vincent. Maybe there isn't really one main FFVII game. It's just that FFVII came first and is the one carrying the sole title of "Final Fantasy VII" that everyone thinks it's the main game. Could be all of them make up one big FFVII game. Not sure if I'm making sense. Hehe.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw Now I understand where that's coming from. If you put all the FFVII titles together, including the movie, it makes sense. They add up to each other, they really are part of one giant storyline. How awesome would it be to have all of them (the movie seperate) on one disc? You could play from BC to Dirge and watch the movie once more before Dirge! That'd be great! Also, if you buy the PS3 version of BF3, we could play together it's up to you man! I'll add yours soon!
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Yeah, separate stories viewed from different character angles, lined one after another, that make up one giant, epic FFVII tale. I'd probably end up getting the PS3 version first, then the Xbox one later (since I'm not up to renewing my Gold subscription right now). Just saw the clear PS3 cam footage here, and I say the graphics look magnificent. I want to fly a friggin' jet. Hope the maps are as big as BC2 regardless of what the new and awesome Frosbite 2.0 brought to the game.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw Why would you get two copies of one game? I think I mentioned before that I definitely don't like first person shooters, don't expect me being a complete pro at it, I'm not. It's just that my friends and family will be getting BF3 too, so I guess it's fun to just play with them from time to time. Otherwise, I wouldn't buy it. But I guess a little change in the games I play could be nice.
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo I'll the PS3 version because I want to own it on a single disc (seeing as it's going to be a big game and not fit on one DVD) and play free online, not to mention one of my friends will be getting a PS3 soon and I bet he'll get this. I also want the Xbox version because most console BF veterans will play there. If I had a mighty PC, I might get it there, too. Not a big FPS gamer as well. I just like to play FPS games from time to time. Btw, added you on PSN a few minutes ago.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw I see. I'm still a student, I'm not earning ....much so I'd never buy the same game on different consoles. I guess you are earning, much more understandable that way. I accepted you man! We can see each other's Trophy list (I don't care much for the Trophies, just so we can see who owns what) and Big news: I ordered God of War Origins, Collection and 3 :D I'm very pleased to have all 5 God of War games soon on my PS3 ! Can't wait to play the God of War franchise.Great story and gameplay
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo I'm still a student, too...technically. Only have my thesis left. And, yes, I'm working right now, but this is just something to do until I graduate. Don't care about trophies either, so you probably won't see me aiming for platinum. I'd probably replay games I've finished when I miss them (like how I'm missing Crysis 2's campaign right now). Only played GOW on the PS2, then those GOWs on the PSP. I'd probably get the Collection for GOW2 later on, then GOW3.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw Correct storyline: Chains of Olympus -> God of War -> Ghost of Sparta -> God of war 2 -> God of War 3. When I have all 5, I'll be playing them in that order. At this very moment, I'll play Infamous that I still hadn't gotten around too since the PSN outage. Perhaps I'll try FFXIII after that, not sure yet. I have only played the GoW's on the PSP before, but my PSP is thumbstick is half-broken, I don't know if I'll be able to play Type-0 :(
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo I actually played GOW in the right order up until Ghost of Sparta without doing it on purpose. Means I only have GOW2 and 3 left. Ah, Infamous. I tried Infamous 2 demo, and it's exciting. It kind of feels like Prototype, except you can't jump very high then land and create a crater, and you can shoot lightning bolts (which is a good offensive attack). So I'm looking to get the Infamous series as well. Try letting a technician work on your PSP. It's probably a minor problem.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw I guess it's also safe to start with the 'worst' GOW game: Chains of Olympus. I'm actually glad that's the starter of a greater game. Infamous never grabbed my attention, same as Prototype. But I saw the Prototype 2 demo and it made me even more excited than I ever was for Infamous. One annoying thing: The enemies can shoot you from any angle. That could be annoying enough for me to quit, but I'll see soon. I hope the controls can be changed in Type-0, not feeling like paying a technici
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Chains wasn't that bad. Of course, it didn't have the more epic boss battle that Ghost of Sparta had, but the scene with Titan was pretty nice. I didn't care for inFamous either until I played the demo of the sequel. Prototype wowed me when I played it first, and probably it was the first PS3 game I got to try (got it on Xbox, though). It kind of bored me later on, but I'll get back to it soon I guess (as soon as I finish other games, hehe). Your PSP analog may only need cleaning.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw Chains had only 3 boss fights and the story didn't get much interesting until we clearly saw Calliope. I just started Infamous now and I am not impressed. It's a decent game, but I've seen better so it doesn't WOW me as much as I'd hope. I'll finish the game, but I'm not sure if I'll ever get the 2nd one, perhaps when it's extremely cheap. my PSP analog stick doesn't respond well, I push forward it goes to the right etc. It's annoying to deal with it constantly.
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo Well, it was the first GOW handheld game, so it's good for what it is. I just wish they're a bit longer. Maybe inFamous had missions with little differences on each, so it may feel repetitive. I'm just guessing, though, but that's what made me put aside Prototype for a while. My PSP analog stick kind of does the same, and it started happening when I played MGSPW. It doesn't always move on its own, but it's annoying when it does. Hey, do you play SSFIV?
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw Yeah indeed, I like GOW anyway. Infamous has plenty of sidemissions but they can get repetitive. Some of the main missions look like sidemissions as well. I'm playing as I'm telling you, it's definitely not a bad game but yeah...just expected more from it. Our PSP shares the same fate. Sorry man, I don't have SSFIV. I'll probably get Street Fighter x Tekken when it comes out, but I want to buy Mortal Kombat more. Great fighting game.
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo inFamous has that vibe. A lot of people like doing mundane missions...as long as they have cool abilities. Maybe I do, too, to some extent. Even though my PSP does the ghost analog thing, it doesn't bother me much when I was using it a lot. Too bad about SF4, it's a very good fighting game. Very technical, but maybe not as technical as SF3. I'll get MK eventually. I need the price to go down first. It's selling here for like $60.
thugsnw 6 months ago
@thugsnw Yeah the sidemissions aren't that bad in Infamous, I guess It's repetitive but fun so it doesn't annoy you. The graphics are pretty bad when Cole talks to someone else, the characters look bland even Cole. Shame. SF4 is great I'm sure, but I never got it somehow. I saw the release of MK and I got more interested for it, but I'll wait as well since it's 50 bucks here! The PS3 version has Kratos though! Awesome! Oh and there is a new trailer for XIII-2, type in 'Quest for Lightning' :)
Jiyaijo 6 months ago
@Jiyaijo That's why I'm getting the PS3 copy of MK: because it has a badass exclusive character, unlike in the 360 version. If you thought inFamous's models were bland-looking, wait 'til you see Prototype. The graphics isn't its strength, but it can distract you anyway. You should try SF4. If you're gonna get it, make sure you grab the Arcade Edition. It's a lot of fun. MK didn't win me since MK4, but now that it's going back to its roots, I'm intrigued. Very intrigued.
thugsnw 5 months ago
@thugsnw When we both get our MK copies, we'll play online and fight each other! Now that'll be awesome! But yes, Infamous' graphics aren't its strong points, but the gameplay distracts it so It's not that bad. I don't know if I'll ever get SF4, there is no point in getting different kinds of fighting games (when all I'll play is 1 fighting game; MK) I'm glad that MK went back to its roots, because MK9 is the best MK ever released. Can't wait to have it.
Jiyaijo 5 months ago
@Jiyaijo Well, not sure if we'll ever enjoy it online. I'm reading that online play's a bit laggy and we live different countries (which may be far from each other for all we know). Guess if you're only playing one fighting game, you don't have to buy another. Me, I sometimes like playing others such as Tekken, MK, MVC, Naruto... But I play SF4 almost everyday, like a warm-up before playing another game. I dunno, everything about it is just addictive -- the fights, combos, technicalities.
thugsnw 5 months ago
@thugsnw That's too bad to hear, I hope the online connectivity isn't as bad as you said. We'll have to wait and see for that. But I can agree with what you said about SF4, I'd probably start up with MK all the time too if I had it. Me and my brother want to fight each other on it. We want to see who's better at a fighting game like MK. I might get UMVC3 though, that's a different style of fighting. Perhaps a little variety won't hurt.
Jiyaijo 5 months ago
@Jiyaijo Possible it MK has bad netcode. My friend also loved MK -- god forbid, he even liked MK vs DC Universe, which was terrible from any angle -- and he also has a bro whom he can fight with. Unfortunately, my little bro isn't into games like me, so all I have left are friends (whom I rarely see) and random online folks. MVC3 was all right, but I didn't like it as much since it's too flashy and has so much going on-screen. I'll likely grab UMVC3 despite that, though.
thugsnw 5 months ago
@thugsnw MK vs DC looked terrible from my angle as well, that game did not impress me one bit. I can understand that your bro is not into games, I love sports as well but I'm like the only one in this house that likes it. Can't talk about it or play it with anyone! Yeah just with friends but everyone is busy with school/girls/money etc. just random life. Anyhow, I'm glad I never got MVC3 now I'll get UMVC3 instead! Looks good to me! Also, I wish Square made Dissidia for PS3! It'd be amazing!!
Jiyaijo 5 months ago
@Jiyaijo Ahh, sports. I don't like them either. Nobody actually follows a sport around here, except maybe my mom on special occasions (particularly boxing). Never had MVC3 either, though I played it at a friend's house and it looked all right. I want to get the Special Edition for PS3, though, for the case and artbook (and maybe free DLC); then UMVC3 for Xbox. Dissidia on the PS3 looks like a good idea, but I hope they'd polish the dialogue a lot. Some of the voicework was horrible.
thugsnw 5 months ago
@thugsnw I'd include these characters for Dissidia PS3: Warrior of Light/Garland - Firion/Emperor - Onion Knight/Cloud of Darkness - Cecil/Golbez - Bartz/Exdeath - Terra/Kefka - Cloud/Sephiroth - Squall/Ultimecia - Zidane/Kuja - Tidus/Jecht - Yuna/Shuyin - Shantotto/Prishe - Vaan/Vayne - Lightning/Jill Nabato - Noctis/Stella. 30 characters for the first PS3 Final Fantasy. They could add another character for each FF in the second Dissidia for PS3. (Yeah I just made up all that, not too hard)
Jiyaijo 5 months ago
@Jiyaijo 30 characters for the first PS3 Dissidia ******** my bad.
Jiyaijo 5 months ago
@Jiyaijo You're a big Dissidia geek, aren't you? Hehe. I tried playing Dissidia, but I never got into it. It's not boring -- it's actually a pretty good fighter, and it's got cohesive RPG elements that make it feel like a distinguishable FF game. Dialogue and voicework are left to be desired, though. Not sure if they improved on Duodecim, but I'm not that interested to find out. Despite how I feel about it, I think it'd go places if the PS3 had its own version of the game.
thugsnw 5 months ago
@thugsnw Duodecim was far better than the original. It had a storyline in which you could actually walk and explore the field for enemies. It also had everything the original had but MORE. It even included the original story after you beat the Duodecim story. So there was plenty to do and gain. I was impressed by it, but I just want a better Dissidia because it deserves one. Imagine the graphics, story, the bigger roster and online gameplay. It's pure WIN. A pre-order is inevitable.
Jiyaijo 5 months ago
It could work.
thugsnw 5 months ago
@thugsnw Agreed my man! Two heroes and villains is a nice way to start on Dissidia. They could always expand it. Oh and, TGS will show us 18 new PS VITA games. That's something to look forward too!! And everyone is expecting a KH Collection for PS3. We'll see soon enough!
Jiyaijo 5 months ago
@Jiyaijo Not sure if Square would have something interesting to announce at TGS. I doubt Versus XIII would be there. Type-0, maybe. KH collection? Probably just KH 3D. I hope some of those Vita games are originals I'm gonna like. Hey, maybe you haven't heard: Skyward Sword's getting a special bundle. It will include a golden Zelda Wii Remote Plus, the game, plus a music CD. Tuck it all in a nice box and I'll be sold. I wished there was more, though -- like an artbook or a figurine.
thugsnw 5 months ago
@thugsnw Square will show XIII-2, Type-0, KH3D and most likely a KH Collection everyone has been waiting for. They didn't mention Versus XIII, so that's a downer. I already knew about the Skyward Sword pre-order. I think it's great for 70 bucks, except I don't know a site where to pre-order it since I live in Europe. No idea, have to find out. Btw, I finished Infamous and it has a great ending, still a decent game nothing more. Playing FFXIII right now and I'm lovin' it, except the linear parts.
Jiyaijo 5 months ago
@Jiyaijo lensoftruth(dot)com/sonys-confirmed-tokyo-game-show-2011-lineup/
Xbox I'm playing Crysis 2 for the third time and playing Gears of War campaign co-op with my bro.
thugsnw 5 months ago
@thugsnw The link you send me oddly enough doesn't work, but I believe what you said. If there are 3 unannounced games for the PS3, then I hope everyone will be 'pleasantly' surprised. Versus XIII might show a new trailer, maybe a trailer for KH Collection (or just the announcement) and who knows what the other one is. Amazon is CreditCard only, which I don't have. I need through iDeal which is the safest method !! Also, FFXIII probably has the best combat system. It's a shame it's so linear...
Jiyaijo 5 months ago
@Jiyaijo You have to replace "(dot)" with an actual dot, because YT doesn't actual links in the comments (maybe to circumvent link spammers). Maybe you can get SS on eBay when it's out. I don't have a credit card either and I probably never will. Let's just hope SE doesn't leave fans scratching their heads once more, but I have a good feeling with SE in this year's TGS. Is XIII as linear as Crisis Core? Just got the FF7 AEC with the FFXIII demo. Wish the movie had English subs.
thugsnw 5 months ago
@thugsnw Oh come on, I'm not stupid, I know that (dot) needs to be replaced with an actual dot. I did it and Error 404 came up, several times! Yeah I hope SE doesn't let us down. I hope they reveal enough to keep everyone pleased. XIII is probably even more linear than Crisis Core. Crisis Core had sidemissions right from the beginning and let us walk through Shinra and a part of Midgar. Many accepted Crisis Core as it is because It's a portable game anyway. XIII however....
Jiyaijo 5 months ago
