  • great, informative videos. Looking forward to seeing more. Subscribed, Liked, Favorited. Found you on the DPS forum, FYI.

  • not to sound like a critic, troll, or jerk, but for the grass, instead of burning the edges of the grass, go to "image", "adjustments" and then click on "match color" and then for the "source" have it either be the background (without you in it) or the layer with you in it, and then mess with the settings. I'm not sure how it would turn out, but i think it would make it would be a bit easier and more accurate than using the burn tool. I'm not sure, just a suggestion and see how it works, good tut

  • hiya!

i'm a real amateur and i would LOVE to do those very colourful HDR photos. i've tried and tried, but never can get there. so could make a tutorial on it? thanks!

  • snail trail ^_^

  • cool ;)

  • thank god u uploaded a new video :DDD

    very good and professional btw

  • Hi thanks for the tutorial. Here is a tip for you. Gavin Hoey has a great video for using Content aware that I think you will help you with the extending your non-patterned background. Check it out. Gavin is great. Search for this: Content Aware Fill vs Content Aware Scale

  • @cbtorneros Thanks man, I saw it awhile ago and it's great. Anyone can extend an image in anyway they see fit, however. Using content aware scale works fine but will produce weird artifacts in the image because it is still stretching pixels. The mixer brush tool preserves and creates true smooth surfaces. Just like with my photo equipment, I don't care at all which Tool is used to get the job done. As long as the final product looks fine, why would anyone care about which tools were used?

  • @PhotoExtremist Very True. Thanks for the reply and I agree. What ever gets the job done and looks good will work. Also, it's good to know multiple techniques to accomplish similar actions as one may work better than the other in different situations. Keep up the great work. I’m looking forward to the next video.

  • awesome man

  • What type of softboxes / lighting is that?

  • @sosvocaloid Photo Basics 402 uLite Video Lighting Kit

  • wonderful!

  • Nice job ;) I noticed some improvements that should be done ;) Why you didn't use the same trick for grass shadow that you had used for your body, it should look better/realistic. You missed 1area on shirt while masking ;) And finally, you didn't have to do isolation of your self (at least you should apply feathering), just around T-shirt so you don't mess up the edges of yourself...but do this masking, select inverse and apply it for the shadow also with feathering ;) just some improvements...

  • @Ripenator Shadows get darker in certain areas and fade out into nothing in certain area as they get closer or further away from the object/light source - the idea behind adding the softer shadow later follows this principle. Looking back, I could have burned the edge of the soil and the shadow of the dangling arm or just kept the original. TIPY TIP: It always helps to save the Photoshop file and open it up on another day so you can objectively look at the things that could be improved!

  • So good dude, I'm still learning more from you. Ironically I learned more about making shadows on this tutorial, bunch of other stuff too

  • Great tutorial! Also, you're a very good teacher for this stuff, man! By the way, I guess you forgot to select a tiny part of your shirt in the middle of your chest! Except for this, it's a great result you get by the end! Cheers!

  • @sushimannnn Yep I did :) thanks

  • Great video man. BTW. when you import the grass photo, you could change the blending mode to Screen OR go to Blending options and mask the 255 out. ;) thanks

  • @ashkibala1 Well, Screen would only reveal the bright areas - you mean Multiply right? That's what I did in the original one - but Normal is ideal because it doesn't darken the grass and make it transparent

  • you can also use a mask to do that... ;)

  • you really come up with quality tutorials, you explain complex things very well, thanks for your time!!!!

  • at 9:48 you could use content aware scale! you would have a pretty decent result! ;)

  • @1Andr1P True true :)

  • good !!

  • You always impress!

  • Hi evan, have you got a video of how to put the image of your face onto you hands(front cover of best of 07-10)?love your stuff btw
