It all depends on how your drive. RPM is known for great durability and warranty, so if you break a stock one, upgrade. Otherwise, their is no need to upgrade to RPM. (If you have a brushless car, it will have enough power that you might want to upgrade to RPM anyway!)
You are so right! Now that it's a couple of months later, I timed how long it would take for them to slow down similar to what I did in the video. It took ~90 seconds, which is like 3 or 4 times longer than in the video!
@jolynsbass I need help! I have bushings on a stampede xl 5, and i want to upgrade to bearings, do i need to get different carriers or can i just use the same carriers? Please reply!
watch close i can push the throtel to slightly to u pushed slightly to hard u can notice the wheel diameter getting bigger in size and rate of speed changing to faster wider yes bearing are better little bit more spin and let wheels spin more freely to so speed would be slightly increased and performance to but this video doesnt correctly show differences of the 2
How do you propose I apply throttle to a wheel that is not connected to the drive train? As I explained in the comments, the rear wheel only shows moderate improvement, because the of the transmission(it's RWD). However the front wheels just spun forever. If it looks like the tire is changing shape, it's because it has seen some abuse and is no longer perfectly balanced (that's why the tire rotates backwards at the end.)
-oh, and please use some punctuation next time - hard to understand!

My bushings are fine they would spin for much longer. Use vaseline on the bushings and they are fine.

HELP!! how often do you have to change the Bearings and what do you mean byway cheaper than RPM carriers???
GEO3535 3 years ago
stock vxl carriers are ~$3/pair, vs. RPM carriers which are about $9/pair.
And you only have too change them when are no longer rolling freely - if they bind up, or roll roughly, then is the time to replace them.
jolynsbass 3 years ago
so rpm carriers last longer??? Do you know an Estimation of how long they last???

ball bearing is the best in all traxxas models..
ball bearing is a smooth running, cooler, and longer run time..
bushing bearing is not really good as okay, getting hot, and short run time
