Great song, I love this group, and they had such a good band. The steel guitar in this song is great. I wore my album out playing it, thanks for posting it.
This is a great song and a great idea with the olde tyme photos. The music is so cute the way they're playing it. The Original Hinsons are just wonderful. Ronny can sure preach it and so can Kenny. This is a most blessed and talented family. Thank you for sharing. God Bless You, Gwen
This is so good to hear again, They sang this an so many more at my Dad's church in Waynesville N.C. an trust me, Myself or many others will never forget....never on this side of Heaven, Kenny, say hello to my Dad,Jack Fulbright, I'll see you all up there one day Bless God, But not until my work is done here first. Bless you for posting this,
Oh wow... How many times did I listen to this song and pretend that I was Ronnie doing the preaching! hahaha! My best friend and I wanted so bad to form a gospel singing group back when we were in high school (believe me, that's been more than a few years ago!). We were gonna travel around the world and set the world on fire with our singing and preaching! The Hinsons allowed me to live my dream vicariously! Love you, Hinsons!
nothing better than this song to get your feeler a feelin' I remember this song from Dayton Ohio at the Memorial Hall. Boy did I shout the place down. That was my very first concert that I went to. That was back when Chris sung in the group. Thanks for the memory. I love you guys. What a Blessing, What an anointing. I wish I could go back to those days, but we've got something to look for when we're in heaven.
Even the Glorified angels in Heaven have a hard time sounding like that of Chris Hawkins !! Wow!! She can raise the roof and revive a weary soul to rejoice in the Lord. I'm living in Canaan Now !!
not to be mean... I do like yvonne, but she could not sing any of the songs like chris freeman. chris freeman is amazing singer that has always touched my soul! and she still is my favorite female singer. Thank you God for giving us a such a wonderful voice to rejoice you in!!!
the hinsons music brought true praise and worship to our lord and saviour jesus christ,a mixture of good songs, good talent, and most of all,the annointing, after all it is the annointing that not only makes the difference, but is the difference!!
@preachboy3 There is only ONE Chris Hawkins Freeman...her vocal ability is unmatched, I like Yvonne, but Chris could pierce the soul with her meteoric vocals! Enjoy!!!
i too have this old album and was fortunate to find it on cd on the net. i am glad that cds dont get worn out grooves in them like albums. i always enjoyed a hinsons concert, you gotta love the energy!
Listen to the energy from the vocals and the band. that energy is missing from a lot of our groups today...as well as the bands. We need to get the bands and the energy back.
I agree..Im in a band called Destroying Darkness that is a Christian Thrash Metal band that is truly asking God to give us the annointing like rest on the Hinsons. I just bought ths Cd from Larry Hinsons Ministry. I grew up always wanting to sing like Kenny Hinson.
Gotta love the unique blend of gifted voices from the "preaching and Singing" style of Southern Gospel inspirational music from the original Hinson's !! Love em' all !!
I got to see the Hinsons live back in the 1970's. I was only 7 or 8 atthe time, and I really look up to Kenny Hinson to this day. I remember telling my mom I wanted to sing just like Kenny Hinson. Well I didn't turn ot to be a singer, but a christian drummer instead. I would have liked to met Kenny, I still look up to him and thank God for the Hinsons singing about Jesus.
I actually own that LP. "From Out of the West They Came". It's tucked away in a closet. I went to every concert of the Hinsons when they would come through Tulsa. I was there on their "One More Hallelujah" tour. Shortly thereafter, Kenny got sick. He is sorely missed. The Original Hinsons are sorely missed.
I remembered the original Hinsons (Ronnie, Larry, Yvonne, and Kenny) on the old Gospel Singing Jubilee Program, although Chris Hawkins replaced Yvonne when I was watching the program. Of all the groups on Jubilee, I liked the Hinsons the most, mostly because Kenny, to quote Forrest Gump, "Had a Gee-tar"!
Kenny was offered a chance to sing secular music but turned down many offers. He was to gospel music like Elvis was to rock and roll RIP Kenny Hinson, you left us all too soon!
To me Kenny Hinson was the best singer that ever lived on earth. I've seen The Hinson three times in concert and they are great. The New Hinsons are keeping the sound going. Don't stop. God bless you all.
I used to have the vinyl of this double live record...where can i find it now??? hinson history...do you have the whole recording? "I never shall forget the day" from that concert is stirring!
