i just cut a piece of wood and screwed it into my snapped bass pedal, if anything it works better than my other pedal that has metal on it

ya those pedals have a habit of breaking mine broke as well i pretty much did what you did but i didn't replace the bottom and for the top i use a slab of diamond plate steel. I cut my foot on it once haha.

You're wrong. Ply wood is sheets of wood glued together. Particle board is a manufactured wood from saw mill shavings and saw dust, set in an adhesive and pressed to make a strong, heavy board. Know what you are talking about before you go trolling.
