@InvaderBizkit They need to make a Soul Blade 2 instead of Sc5 but it is a remake of Sb 1 and has all the characters the way they looked back then but it has new weapons and their movesets are expanded and gameplay is Faster than both sc4 and sc3 and keeps sc2 Mechanics(agree that woudl sell).
One last thing, they need to make the Skeleton body model for Character Creation as well as the demonic voice all of the Skeleton's had in Tower of Lost Souls. It made it so much more badass. Making my Grim Reaper Character was annoying when I found out that you couldn't unlock either of those things for the Char. C. and Human Grim Reaper looked less threatening than the traditional skeletal Grim Reaper.
I swear, if they replace Hwang with Yun-Seong again, they better have given Yun a new movelist, his jumping around stance didn't just cut it for me in SCIV. And bring back all the modes from SCII (Team Versus Battle, Extra Arcade, Extra Team Versus Battle, Time Attack, etc.) And if Hwang isn't in the game then atleast make his style selectable for Character Creation. Like in SCIII where there was more weapon styles to choose from to make an original creation. (Steel Fan, Wave Swords, Lance etc.)
Well, I hope that they get some new charachters all together, i'm not saying to get rid of all the good characters in SC4, but take the "good" ones, and then just make up a few more characters and fighting styles, because I've been playing SC4 for the last year and a half VERY often, and I'm sick of the characters that are pointless, useless, or overpowered(Which is arguably 1/2). All I'm saying is that they should make a few new characters and fighting styles.

I hate these IGN Trailer Analysis videos. They spent a whole lot of time talking about the very obvious, and absolutely nothing about the gameplay mechanics, graphics, or lack thereof or just anything that any person could squeeze out of this teaser by themselves.
I could definitely be wrong, but the character in the gem appears to be wearing a hood and may possibly be Zasalamel in another incarnation trying to help guide mankind as he wished to do in the ending of SCIV and he may have Patroklos under some sort of a spell in trying to do so. I could be wrong, so dont hate me if i dont have all of my facts straight :P
I wonder what's gonna happen to all the old characters? I mean there 17 years older now so are they gonna be in the game but just older or are a lot of them gonna be replaced. One thing I do hope for though is a major revamp of character creation mode. Soul Calibur IV's character creation is good but far from perfect. One thing they should bring back is the custom weapons and movesets soul calibur III did. I don't like using the main characters weapons and movesets on my custom characters.
@Gravekeeper67 Well first off, Ivy is basically immortal. She lives off the power of alchemy, or rather it is best to say she isn't even really alive to begin with. Astaroth is a created being who feeds off soul edge. Yoshimitsu is a what-the-fuck something or another, so I doubt age means much to him. Nightmare is a phantom, so same with him. I doubt they will just take out all the old favs for serious. People will hate them.
@onimotoko Ivy, Astaroth and Yoshi are all age indifferent for the reasons you mentioned, but Nightmare has been deteriorating since SC3 and Soul Edge should have found a new host by now. Other characters that shouldn't be ageing are Cervantes and Raphael, both undead in some way. Don't know about Amy though. Oh and Voldo could probably do what he does forever too.
@parrisdaley True, but when he first appeared, he was too similar in fighting style to Sophie to be worth playing. I think as long as they keep Ivy, Cerevantes and Raphael I will be fine.
finally, a main protagonist with sword and shield, AND IT"S A DUDE. now if you make a male with sword and shield, it won't look feminine, or lame. Thats if character creation is still in it. That alone though, makes this game look promising to me.

Seems like a good breakdown. The part that is missed is that sophitia's daughter was actually trapped inside of soul edge by nightmare. We have no idea how that came out, otherthan soul edge breaking. I also believe that we won't be seeing the old characters except in flashbacks, but guys like yoshimitsu(immortal being) will definitely still be there. Everyone else will be replaced with new characters, but similar fighting styles. Those who are skeptic, don't dish the game until you've played.

-Saying 8WR=useless is scrubby. Do you think you can win any decent Raphael's gauge game w/o stepping once? Every top Kilik players uses Asura, what's the best counter? Step left. Don't step? Eat gauge dmg.
@SquallLeon81 I don't remember the wiki saying anyting about Sophitia actually being involved, other than being the mother of the protaganists. In fact, I don't know if you've seen the most recent trailer or not (it would be cool to see a rewind trailer for it btw), during one little break in the action after a battle, Patroklos looks at the camera and says "Goodbye, mother." so... what does that mean for Sophitia? I'll leave you to speculate on your own.
All depends on the contest of a sentence.For example if this is the final part of the opening it suggest that Sophitia has been killed by her son(personally I hope not I love her as a character).
If this is the end of Patroklos scenario it could mean that Sophitia has Soul Edge and she will be the final Boss.

There's no valid reason for him to say goodbye mother, when his mother isn't there. Soul Edge is now a short sword. Meaning Nightmare lost the Soul Edge....again. Sophitia is PRESUMED to be dead, by her son. The developers said some returning characters might wield new weapons and there's no point in showing Sophie if she isn't appearing.
Yes for Sophitia I know, but what I want to say are two things, but not for anger with you or other:
1)We already have two characters with that style so why a third one?
2)Cassandra compared to Sophitia is nothing, not because Cassy is worst than her, but because Sophy is leggendary so for this matter how is possible erase a character that was inside the game until the first game and keep another who was the copy of the original.

One last thing, they need to make the Skeleton body model for Character Creation as well as the demonic voice all of the Skeleton's had in Tower of Lost Souls. It made it so much more badass. Making my Grim Reaper Character was annoying when I found out that you couldn't unlock either of those things for the Char. C. and Human Grim Reaper looked less threatening than the traditional skeletal Grim Reaper.

I swear, if they replace Hwang with Yun-Seong again, they better have given Yun a new movelist, his jumping around stance didn't just cut it for me in SCIV. And bring back all the modes from SCII (Team Versus Battle, Extra Arcade, Extra Team Versus Battle, Time Attack, etc.) And if Hwang isn't in the game then atleast make his style selectable for Character Creation. Like in SCIII where there was more weapon styles to choose from to make an original creation. (Steel Fan, Wave Swords, Lance etc.)

Well, I hope that they get some new charachters all together, i'm not saying to get rid of all the good characters in SC4, but take the "good" ones, and then just make up a few more characters and fighting styles, because I've been playing SC4 for the last year and a half VERY often, and I'm sick of the characters that are pointless, useless, or overpowered(Which is arguably 1/2). All I'm saying is that they should make a few new characters and fighting styles.

I could definitely be wrong, but the character in the gem appears to be wearing a hood and may possibly be Zasalamel in another incarnation trying to help guide mankind as he wished to do in the ending of SCIV and he may have Patroklos under some sort of a spell in trying to do so. I wonder what's gonna happen to all the old characters? I mean there 17 years older now so are they gonna be in the game but just older or are a lot of them gonna be replaced. One thing I do hope for though is a major revamp of character creation mode. Soul Calibur IV's character creation is good but far from perfect. One thing they should bring back is the custom weapons and movesets soul calibur III did. I don't like using the main characters weapons and movesets on my custom characters.

@Gravekeeper67 Well first off, Ivy is basically immortal. She lives off the power of alchemy, or rather it is best to say she isn't even really alive to begin with. Astaroth is a created being who feeds off soul edge. Yoshimitsu is a what-the-fuck something or another, so I doubt age means much to him. Nightmare is a phantom, so same with him. I doubt they will just take out all the old favs for serious. People will hate them.

@onimotoko Ivy, Astaroth and Yoshi are all age indifferent for the reasons you mentioned, but Nightmare has been deteriorating since SC3 and Soul Edge should have found a new host by now. Other characters that shouldn't be ageing are Cervantes and Raphael, both undead in some way. Don't know about Amy though. Oh and Voldo could probably do what he does forever too.

Seems like a good breakdown. The part that is missed is that sophitia's daughter was actually trapped inside of soul edge by nightmare. We have no idea how that came out, otherthan soul edge breaking. I also believe that we won't be seeing the old characters except in flashbacks, but guys like yoshimitsu(immortal being) will definitely still be there. Everyone else will be replaced with new characters, but similar fighting styles. Those who are skeptic, don't dish the game until you've played.

In my opinion this video doesn't suggest that Sophitia is in the game.
That's her ending of Soul Calibur IV.
Probably they show her to us because the new chapter will figure her two child as main protagonist that's the reason for her appearance.
For now confirmed are:Nightmare,Sigfried,Patroklos,Mitsurugi,Phyrrha.
And wiki suggest Ivy,Taki and Sophitia involved too.
I fear there is no Astaroth anymore

In fact, I don't know if you've seen the most recent trailer or not (it would be cool to see a rewind trailer for it btw), during one little break in the action after a battle, Patroklos looks at the camera and says "Goodbye, mother." so... what does that mean for Sophitia? I'll leave you to speculate on your own.

In my opinion this can mean different things.
All depends on the contest of a sentence.For example if this is the final part of the opening it suggest that Sophitia has been killed by her son(personally I hope not I love her as a character).
If this is the end of Patroklos scenario it could mean that Sophitia has Soul Edge and she will be the final Boss.
These two options for me.

There's no valid reason for him to say goodbye mother, when his mother isn't there. Soul Edge is now a short sword. Meaning Nightmare lost the Soul Edge....again. Sophitia is PRESUMED to be dead, by her son. The developers said some returning characters might wield new weapons and there's no point in showing Sophie if she isn't appearing.

1)We already have two characters with that style so why a third one?
2)Cassandra compared to Sophitia is nothing, not because Cassy is worst than her, but because Sophy is leggendary so for this matter how is possible erase a character that was inside the game until the first game and keep another who was the copy of the original.

Well Setsuka is exagerated character. It's difficult to use, but she is the 3rd strongest character of rooster.
Online Kilik players usually spam a lot, but if you find an expert Kilik has various moves high middle and low and his very fast.
For me if well used is more than a challenge to fight.
Seung Mina has the same moves but a lot of weaker.

@zeokenX there are more ways to defend your self in SC, more ways to attack and deception is a big part in gameplay, and its not like tekken which is just air jugling the shit out of people which most kombos take about 80% of your health in tekken all you do is guard, time a shot and then air juggle thats about it and the characters suck! now you got owned anything else

@puertorricanstar Theres no 80% combo in Tekken dumbass =/ Tekken main strength is in guess gaming to get those high damage numbers up.If you know how to defend and punish someone properly,you can stop them from attempting those combos from the get go.I tell you what,try playing Tekken and launching someone that knows how to punish and set your ass up to cause whiffs into their combos and 50/50 guess games then youll see what Tekken the better game.Soul Calibur doesnt even come close bro

@zeokenX well in SC those just frames atacks are easy and in SC you can escape some combos by rapidly pressing in all dirrections your d pad and the combos that cant be escapes dont take away 80% of your life. and ring outs are no big deal only noobs get ringed out and people dont play to ring out, and you cant guard forever cuz your soul guage will break to perform a critical finish. 50/50 guess guess?please in SC you have to fool your oponents and not guess I already proved SC is better
