  • Very good lesson. Good teaching too, man! Abraço (from Brazil!)

  • what acoustic guitar is that

  • great lesson! top notch

  • thanks mate ur a realy good teacher

  • you are REALLY great at playing guitar thanks for the lesson

  • Impressingly accurate chords. Thanks for sharing mate- I'm a huge fan.

  • I don't think it's Aminor in the first part, after the intro. It's A7.

And it's not Eminor in the end of the chorus. It's E (not minor).

    Nicely played.

  • Sorry mate, but your just plain wrong there. There are no A7 or E majors in this song.

  • I stand corrected!

  • @scoby1knoby Layered guitar. He's playing a mix of the two guitars for an acoustic in a 'bright' style. Originally it is TWO guitars and a bass.

  • Trying playing along to Bowie....Its definitely an A7 and an E minor!

  • @mudniva You're looking at a key changer with a varying metric. E minor, E, and then a shift to octave A

  • I am learning this right now.

  • nice lesson, thanks, going to send this link to my cousin, he just started playing and wanted to learn this.

  • Thanks, always had trouble with this.

  • What is the strum pattern he uses when he is not playing the chorus?

  • nice work

  • Really good lesson, thanks!!!(:

  • In soviet Russia ziggy stardust plays you!

  • @scottwashere23 He's Scottish, not Russian you moron

  • @MrRosstifarian It was a joke asshole don't take shit so seriously...are you Jamacian? did'nt think so.

  • @scottwashere23 Well it was a shit joke, really original. And nice stereotypical view there you stupid cunt, so only Jamaicans can be Rasta? didnt think so.

  • Thanks for post this.

  • Awesome, thanks man. Only question is what is the strumming pattern, cant quite get it down

  • Same here. Other than that, great tutorial.

  • Very good tutorial, clear and complete, thanks !

  • Yes it is great help. You see I m also a left handed guitar player. So it is great with U tube. If you could play Hey Joe would be appreciated. That would be a great song to learn.

Keep doing what your doing! It is a great help for beginners like me!

  • I'm a boy from Lucca (Italy) and I'm learning to play guitar.

Are you going to do other videos about David Bowie's songs?

  • Excellent! Thanks I am left handed , but I have finally mastered this song thanks to your help....

  • I'm glad to be of help - It's very satisfying to know that others are benefiting from these vids.

  • It would really help to have the chords written out

  • Thank you thank you!

This was such a help. I've been trying to learn this song, I just started guitar, and this made it very easy for me! Thank you for the awesome tutorial!

  • Can someone write out the chords? I'm an idiot and that would help me out a fair bit.

  • very good man

    thankss!

  • Hey mate, just wanted to thank you for taking the time to put this up and really well explained.

Helped me master this song. I've subscribed to your vids too!

  • GC!

  • Anyone know of a free video compression program that will compress mpeg files?

  • 'tis be a great vid; "Same wee walk" love the accent. And a really helpfull vid too! Do you know how to play "Queen Bitch"? I know, I know I could learn it on me own but dammit, I'm lazy!! Cheers thanks once again.

  • I can play a load of Bowie songs,Qheenbitch being one of them. It's trying to get it all crammed into about 3.5 minutes thats the problem.

  • Don't be so humble: you sing pretty damn well!

  • u dont stum the d everytime u filck ur pinky u only strum d once

  • Sounds kinda empty though if you only use the top string. Remember, songs are open to interpretation and can be played in many different ways. This is an accoustic version and you don't have to play it like this. I'm only giving you the chords. If you want to play it exact to the record start by playing it on an electric guitar - Oh yeah, and you'll also need a band to fill it out.

  • now this is top man i would love to try this 1 out ill have to dwnload ur vid to my phone lol

  • this is the best one if you want to seriously learn ziggy stardust! not just the intro...

    Great accent too. Love it.

  • dude I love this song and you taught it to me!

+ I love your accent and your singing :P

  • Hey the Dmajor chord with the pinkie over the third fret is not sus2...

Is it a Dsus4? Because you're playing G with your pinkie (fourth)on the E string, instead of playing F sharp (major third) with your middle finger...

  • I'm stuck on part of it, right after the D. It doesn't sound quite the same but I can't figure out why. Could you maybe type that part out (this finger on this fret) etc?

    Thanks, the lesson is great

  • excellent!

    thanks. this is very helpful!
