Is it a solid car? Ever have any issues with it? Why is it your secondary and not still your main car? Thinking about picking one of these up. probably a 04 or newer and so far all i hear are good things about them. Surprising considering everytime anybody hears "ford taurus" they shudder at the thought of crap
@soulweaponry It is a solid car. Its my old car I keep around. I drive a different car. But it is a good car. Get one with the vulcan engine. The 24v DOCH engine is crap. Sounds good, but crap
@soulweaponry and people think of crap and taurases because nobody takes care of them. Taurus's take a lot of abuse. Mostly because they are owned by kids or women. lol
@Freddy4190 Truthfully, they kinda are. I do like them. I like the sound and power, but they arent as reliable. Mine started crapping out at 70k miles. It has a misfire issue that no mechanic can figure out. My advice is go easy on it and it should last a bit longer
@Freddy4190 Mine ISN'T a DOHC. So, yeah. It's at 67k miles. I've been running the shit out of it. It's pretty badass. It's got an issue with the front wheel bearing or something. Gonna have to get that fixed..
@Freddy4190 - And in the '06 model year...The Duratec (DOHC 24V) was dropped altogether, leaving only the Vulcan 3.0 (12V pushrod) engine...Wonder why?
i got one its my first car and we replaced the struts brakes carpeting seats head liner starter were looking into a new alternator and transmision fluid soon but it still runs good
@soulweaponry no the previous owners kinda neglected it and its good still.......its to cold to continue work on it here so the alternator and trans fluids gotta wait till spring...we put winter tires on last week tho
@djkain2007 You should be able to get one for cheap. Like 1 to 2 grand for a nice one. Its a small car though. If your price range is lower I'd recomment a 1999 ford taurus. And get one with the duratech engine. Lot more power
Thanks. This thing is a tank compared to others. I t boned a honda and caved in the side and it was a $3k repair. I went to the store and got a $1.26 pen of touch up paint and it was good as new. Just a few scuffs

Nice! The 2000-2007 taurus's all look the same. I dont like the earlier models either. I was thinking about looking for some stock rims on ebay but I already bought the current ones and Im just going to leave it as is. I also dont use ebay anymore because I have been ripped off as both a buyer and a seller and im done! But the origional rims are way better than the ones i got.
They are. I like the stock ones better. I wanted to get a second set of wheels so it would be easier to change fron winter to summer tires and these are not the ones I ordered. I usually let my bro use this car so he gets to deal with it. lol
you could probably get a set of 2000-2003 Taurus rims off ebay cheap. those wheels on there now are kinda similar to the bodystyle taurus before yours, which was a hideous version of the Taurus. i drive a 2001 BTW
I had one just like that! Although, I sold it to someone...with the headgasket going...and it only had 207k on it! LOL

I have a 03 Taurus. 3.0V6. Not the DOHC. A dude who knows about them said the DOHC's are shit. Idk..

@chorstma44 could be spark plugs, plug wires, coil packs, vacuum leak. I recently fixed mine, same issue. runs like new now.

my 2000 taurus has 227,000 and runs great origional engine and trans.great car.does get a squeky belt when it rains.
