When I spend my money to see a group, I demand a level of proficiency as high as this!
Weather Report made the music mean something to their audiences. If you talk to anyone who attended a concert back then, they still talk about it witha sparkle in their eyes!
I cannnot imagine that anyone will do that about the American idol lineups with which we have been saddled over the years.
If you can't put it down like this, don't bother me with an invite!
This was the only jazz band (maybe Return to Forever also) that was ever as huge as some of the best rock bands ever like Led Zeppelin. They actually could've played on the same bill as some huge rock band and the fans would've absolutely loved Weather Report too. There would've been none of that "What the hell is this shit, man?" As a matter of fact, they probably would boo when the rock band came on stage.
@marko92pn what timing? Your question is like "how old was Mozart?" lol If you're talking about 4:50 then he "just" play the II-V-I a 1/2t up and then come back to original key ;-)
Can anyone tell me what song this is? I'm fairly familiar with Weather Report, although admittedly I'm more of a fan of Jaco in general, so I never dug too deep into Weather Report.
Can someone help me out here? I'm loving this way too much not to know what song it is.
Ironically, I JUST figured that out like 2 days ago. I recently purchased (NOT downloaded) a few more WR albums and I finally heard the song "Young & Fine".
When I made that post 3 months ago, I saw the title, but I know that there was a DVD release entitled "Young & Fine", so I didn't realize that the SONG was actually called the same. Derp. But thanks for answering anyway.
Man back in the days, when quality didn't effect the sound of the song. man today, alot of live band performances performances suck beyond belief when you watching through a standard video camera.
Jaco joined the band for the Black Market studio work & when later they needed a drummer Jaco recommended Peter, since they were "cut buddies" for several years prior. Everybody on this stage is a master musician & the world has beneffited greatly from their collaborations.
i like this vid cos i can c what jaco would have looked like from a seat in the audience! :O RIP GUYZ i soooo wonna c him... iv had a dream about it lolol!
Li ho visti e ascoltati il 16 Luglio 1976 allo Stadio Dall'Ara di Bologna!!!

Yeah and it looks nothing like it did before. Jaco had a veneer put on it. Looks terrible now, though I bet it still sounds godly...
now we just need the funk machine
