This is racing. Older NFS' are arcade and fun. A game doesn't have to be realistic to be fun. I am personally bored with racing simulator games. Don't tell me it's not better to have some cops on your tail and roam freely, than getting a boner because you have beaten the track time by a second or so.

Everyone explaining what "real racing is" is incorrect. That means you TheZenoid.

Racing is an activity where 2 or more people attempt to do something first. There are several forms of racing, getting to a destination, beating a time, etc. So long as someone does something before the other, it's a race.

As for cars, there's several types of racing. Underground was street racing, Shift is track racing, and there are others.

Need For Speed Underground 2 is the best one, the Game played great and it was the most fun (which is what Games should be about really).

That's a pretty narrowminded way to look at things. Maybe sometimes people overdo it with that kinda blinged out stuff in real life, but in games like Need for Speed Underground 2 (which a lot of the people consider to be the best in the series), they were how you added individuality to your car online, and although racing isn't about that, it was still fun to see what people would do with their cars.

What actual racing is not:

1.) Racing around suburbs with variously altered vehicles.

2.) Playing barbie doll dress up with cars.

3.) Running from police, wrecking and still winning.

What actual racing is:

1.) Racing with a group of cars of similar tuning to show skill of the driver.

2.) Using tuning for track conditions.

3.) Beating track/lap times.

FYI, I enjoyed Most Wanted, for it's own qualities. It's been downhill from there.

My initial point was that the paint/vinyls that's on your car has no bearing on racing. It doesn't make your car faster, handle better, or anything.

Body modifications themselves only make a very marginal difference in MOST cases.

Racing is about racing, and style is only an option... I think our opinions are just different here.
