  • A thermocouple up my arse would generate more milli-watts than that.

  • I Really Like The Video From Your This is my second turbine in testing stage with home made blades made out of PVC

  • On most pma motors you would have to add a gear box

  • Most of these pma magnet motors do produce power but not enough to charge a 12 volt system they would have to produce 24 to 36 volts without a load in order to charge a battery bank

  • tip it strait up and put a squarl cage on it . zoooom

  • You call that testing ? That piece of junk wouldn't last ten minutes if you could ever get it high enough so it could get some wind on it. Seriously you have to be the dumbest person on this planet to think you could ever get a watt or two out of that pile of scrap . You're not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Who in their right mind would hold up their wind turbine with sandbags ? If you think that I'm 10 years old , then you must be retarded . It's plane to see,you don't have a clue !!!!!!

  • @Bubblytubebob Constructive criticism there...

  • putting a wind turbine 6 feet off the ground in a tiny back yard surrounded by fences is about as good as putting it in a hole you dug.

  • That's great.

  • What watt does it put out I have one myself And will have a go at building a wind turbine soon

  • Dude, don't pay any attention to all the douche baggy shit talkers on here. These jackasses have nothing better to do than troll through YouTube talking shit because they are safely out of reach of the people that they talk shit to. These guys are calling you an idiot and stupid and what not, but they probably don't even know which direction to turn a freakin' nut or bolt to get it on or off something. Keep up the experiments.

  • Increase the rigidity and size of the blades and you will need less wind to get them to move. Also you need to mount it up high to catch more wind without obstructions like houses and stupid children's faces. Not safe there at ground level. Also it's no much point if all it does is light one LED. Hook it up to a few old car batteries and charge them, and run a kettle or microwave from the car batteries using a small inverter.

  • @pathosbedlam

Running a kettle would require a BIG inverter

  • Hey,your out there doing something, dont listen to words of discouragement.

  • Are you Kidding .What a Joke It doesn't even have a tail .The back yard is surrounded by 16 ft trees and this joke is only 5 ft off the ground. I don't mean to be critical but please take this movie off the air and stop showing everybody how stupid you are. I'm sorry but somebody has to say it.

  • @Bubblytubebob : Wow you clearly are dumb, if you read the title it says TESTING! and also notice the pole is held up by sandbags so clearly hes testing it, plus its not even wired up. Lol i reckon your about 10 years old or clearly have the brain power of that, go troll else where!

  • awesome Wind Turbine how do you made it? what motor you use it for this?

  • thumbs down for being an annoying cunt with the camera

  • the strobascope effect was amazing on that video. Could hardly see the blades move. What was I watching again?

  • that motor is of what

  • It needs a brake or it might runaway on ya!

  • very nice :D I hope it generates more power for just one little LED, am I right?

  • honey! the lights went out will you go spin the turbine

  • camera man blows

  • a aa q inteligencia no n va a cer cosa q se te queme la cabeza de tano pensar

  • this is something positive

  • Is it me or does my computer monitor work bass-ackwards. In the video I watched the turbine blades are spinning opposite of the airfoil.

  • @duckie62 No. The motor has a transparent plug; is plugged in, and has an opposite rotation. LOL

  • it barely can light up a led

  • I wasted more energy pressing the play button then that turbine made.

  • what a terrible demonstration lol

  • what about Gennerator?

  • I think there are like 20 1.5v batteries inside that cylinder thing.

  • I agree ,but with the motor you have there a gear box would help

  • What generator (BLDC) are you using? Looks like a GE BLDC used in forced air blower systems.

  • Gearbox would really produce the power

  • @losttreasurehunt

A gearbox is not the best solution. Too much loss in rpm/torque conversion. I suggest an Axial Permanent Magnet Alternator. No or very low cogging and low rpm response.

Contact me for more information on the solution

  • what kind of generater is that and where did you get it?

  • @charlie1957able

Looks like a GE/FASCO BLDC. I've got a 1/2 hp unit in my lab now. I worked with FASCO Eldon Missouri in the Engineering Department before the plant closed two years ago. Managed to purchase one before they were released to the general public for replacements. First released to distributors in Florida.

I build a 1.4 and 2.8Kw air core (no cogging) Axial Permanent Magnet Alternator and controller that is much more suitable for HAWG and VAWG applications.

  • great job !!

  • a hamster wheel will generate more power than that

    -.-

  • @citizenwr100 Okay, if you take a hamster wheel, put it on a stick on your backyard, and if it produces power, I'll give you 500bux

  • @citizenwr100 well said mate lol lol lol

  • @citizenwr100 You do better then....... Fuck I love how people love to dish shit out on the net...... This guys taken the time to create something with his hands... Do you think the inventers and engineers got it right bang on the money first time? No you start off with little steps and increase as time goes on and as you feel more comfotable in that field. NICE WORK MATE! I enjoy seeing people taking the time to use their hands to make something.

  • i bet you could plug your phone charger into that thing with the small scale electricity. :P

  • do ya sit there spinning it most of the day??

  • thats the motor from one of those treadmills you run on!

  • funny

  • did you have the beaing and pulley made from who

  • f@ck the you dont do it like that planks .

  • Weirdest pitch I have ever seen on a propeller. No wonder it stopped. It looks like a pipe that was split three ways to make each vane. Maybe a high school physics class would help.

  • @dojmike Actually a sail is not a propeller at all. The force vectors are reversed in compared to a propeller as a sail is designed to induce mechanical rotation from field flow instead of vice versa. A pipe cut lengthwise results in a very cost effective but obviously less than ideal airfoil profile that has become a known design standard for years for entry level DIY windmill designs. If you have a cheaper, easier to make, and higher performing design, post it or shut up.

  • all that stuff just to lite a led ???

  • Goodbye electric bill.

  • SO MUCH POWERRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think you need as many blades as possible, like maybe a huge disk type prop.

  • I am always amazed, people need to take a 2 hour class in how to video!

All the movement throws off what you want to show.

And the side way view, really your joking, right?

Other then all these remarks, you need to show it working in some higher wind, not just lighting up a tiny bulb!

  • i no i found out yes next 1 will have a gear box

  • DONT WANNA BE AROUND WHEN THOSE BLADES COME APART. GOOD JOB THO ON YOUR EXPERIMENT

  • Need a gearbox!!!!!!!!!!

  • well gave it a lil nudge b4 filming, the wind turbine behind it is stationary

  • Why is it spinning backwards?

  • @GOAMember its not

  • @GOAMember spinning blades backwards helps flush all unwanted bad energy away. going forward again brings back the good energy according to NEWBEES LAW!

  • Magnífico. Como conseguir projeto?

  • it can even light a led!! awsome thats just what my dog's house needed!!

  • wow how you make it and what motor?

  • @websitemakerjonathan any permanent magnet motor will work.

  • hahaha at 0:25 is a wind turbine behind u!

  • @zadenwolf and its not moving either

  • i wonder how you connect the blade to the spindle part. couldn't find any adapter for that.

  • twisting the camera wont make it spin any faster =)

  • you need a constant 8 mph wind or higher outside ur home for wind power to be viable..or don't bother.

  • @frogmanvc Wind power can be 'viable' for any number of things. Just because you read somewhere that you need to meet certain requirements to harness the energy in the wind doesn't make it true ine very case.

  • where did u get the generator.? how much was it? do you think it would work on a vertical axeis? nice job what was the out put?

  • odean

  • nice job

  • I´m a student of Industrial engineer. I´m studying about wind turbine of low power in special: outline blades based in tubes. I am looking for some information about this and if it is possible, could you help me?I would know if the measures that you use to make the blades come from your investigations or you take it in others investigations?

I want to ask if you know where I can obtain more information.

Thank you for your attention and I look forward to hearing from you.

    Yours faithfully

  • Nice setup!! I really like your motor bracket. What volt motor is that? Good job and keep the vids coming.

  • Does that shape of blade do a good job for ya ?

Nice hub I'm looking for one that is 3/16ths of an inch id , any suggestions ?

  • @dracos78 RC hobbie stores or shop online

  • same here hard to find.

  • i think you should have 5 blades and each blade should not be longer than 20".

i am not a hawt myself but i have been reading about them along the way.

    regards

  • well done! i love the dynohub one too!
