This was one of the very few issues of Radio Times from this era my parents kept (60th anniversary of the BBC), so I (born 1980) grew up in the early 1990s knowing that weekend's schedules off by heart.
With those news bulletins, this was effectively a trial run for the idea of breakfast TV three months before Breakfast Time and TV-am launched. Interesting that even Thatcher knew how far she could and couldn't go ... *for then* anyway (I don't trust the current government with the NHS).
I now know the top news stories, and what was on TV, for the day I was born. Fabulous to find this.

"David Icke is also here...are you in good shape this morning?"
"No Des. I'm really quite depressed. I think I might be having a mental breakdown. Can I just go home?"
