  • haha

  • @jugharp haha

  • great jamming

  • Well I didn't see much of the flippin Looper ya plonker! :p.. Thx for posting and ?

    Keep Rockin!

  • how would this compare to an epiphone les paul around the same price? also, is the neck as fat as a les paul's? thanks

  • us that the 1 or two pickup version?

  • It's the 1 Pickup - but I now have a 2 pickup one. I like the sound of the front one a lot. Hard to find in the UK - Gibson never actually exported them here.

  • Great Jam! Fantastic!

  • Ok, thanks. I live in Paris. And here too the twin pick-ups are difficult to find. So i think i'll buy a single pick-up.

  • Is is the "new" melody marker or an old model from the 60's?

  • It's one of the new ones

  • Ok, thanks. i'm thinking about buying one as my first electric guitar.

  • They are very good. As basic as you can get, but still a very playable, US made, mahogany, set-neck guitar with an excellent pick-up. I have a twin pick-up one too, which I find more useful as the neck position tones are very nice - but these are hard to find in the UK as they are not officially imported for some reason.

  • Don't recommend a MM to a beginner,

a Pacifica is way more versatile, easier to play

    and they cost less.

As a first Gibson it's maybe ok but as a first guitar unsuitable.

A beginner will get a lot more from a Pacifica,

such as playability and versatility, at a very low price.

The pricetag of the MM is only so high because it's made in the US

and got a neck-through... 2 things that are absolutely unnecessary for a beginner, the Gibson-Logo also costs a lot of money.

  • I do. For a fair price you get a guitar that can last you from bedroom to stage. Real character, a bit of kudos and a high re-sale value. You emphasise beginners: I choose to play one of these for 3 gigs a week despite owning several 'professional' guitars because I like the sound and feel of it. I doubt I'd be as keen to use the bland but admittedly good value Pacifica in the same way. One of these you may still love down the line. It may be worth more than you paid for it too.

  • bs for a few reasons...the one pickup melody maker is PERFECT for a beginner, too many options will confuse beginners--and keep them away from the point..LEARNING HOW TO PLAY FIRST. The melody maker isnt even 400 bucks, which is pretty decent

  • I would say there aren't to much options on a pacifica, if one doesn't know what to do with all that stuff,

one just have to turn the volume knob and start playing.

There are guitars which really are confusing,

    like the fender jaguar,

but the pacifica will still get a biginner along nicely after 1 or 2 years, i would find it rather boring to have just one PU.

Well, i guess one still can modify a MM and make it into a good guitar, but i personally never will be a fan. :/

  • Do you have the JM4 going directly into the guitar input of the AC15?

  • Yes. I'm using the performance mode, where the guitar output goes to the amp and the backing track is sent to my Peavey P.A amp/speakers

  • Hey thats cool man, I followed you here from the jm4 discussion board. I just got me a jm looper also. After seeing your video I decided to give BB a shot myself. Check my loop out...

  • Nice Blues, You see that, you dont need to be a poser with long hair and a earring to make music. this guys got his act together

  • great job playing. Sounds great!
