There is still a large amount of people that play it, however if you was to join a tournament called 'International Conlfict' you'll have access to a 250 man server and weekly battles that will have over 170 people in the server.
You will need both Joint Operations Typhoon Rising and Joint Operations Escalations to play with a majority of people.
Typhoon Rising is the original, Escalations is the expansion pack to it.
I am an old player in this tournament. I was in this video 4th helicopter on the left side but how we did it was get both teams during the tournament to combine to shoot this.
It's very cool looking. I'm in the campaigns now for ICE, having a blast. Wonder if they'd want to film another promotion vid for it? What army are you in? IA here.

Joint Ops is a 5-6 years old game. It has a older Engine then ArmA.
