I was so worried for my girlfriend. She is fine thank god. I am sorry for all the victims. It is really terrible. Also many modern buildings in China were built too quickly and didn't respect the safety rules (for money reason, corruption...). Then when there is an earthquake alls falls down and many people die. I dont see how James 1:13 relates to what you're saying. This is a horrible event, but I believe everything that takes place is God's will because he is an omnipotent and omnipresent God. Why are there so many natural disasters? We got the tsunami years ago, then follow by the hurricane in US. And now we just had a big tornado hiting five southern US states, and then a 7.8 earthquake in china. And some people are saying that it's God's will that thousands of innocent people, many of which are school children, are killed? What's wrong with the world?

it's not God's will, (James 1:13) but we are living in the "time of the end" (Mathew ch. 24) that would be characterized by "critical times hard to deal with" (1 Tim 3:1-5) Soon though Satan and his demons will be abyssed (Revelation 12: 7-9, 20:1-3)It is man who is "ruining the earth" (Rev. 11:18) but soon the Creator will restore it back to a paradise (Psalms 37:10,11,29)

I dont see how James 1:13 relates to what you're saying. This is a horrible event, but I believe everything that takes place is God's will because he is an omnipotent and omnipresent God. Whatever happens is because he allows it to happen for some reasons. There are things individuals can try to do against God's will, but in the end he turns it around to his purposes.

Dude, I don't mean it like that at all. I dont mean to brush it off as God's doing. By saying that God is in control of all events that happen, I suggest that everything that happens is very important, as opposed to brushing it off. As for me, I am not exactly in a good shape myself. I have a cancer right now and I have had many doubts about God, but I come to a conclusion that all that he allows to happen is for the best.

With all the foreign aid dollars the US has sent out for nearly 100 years to the third world civilizations, you would think we would send some engineers to help these people build sturdier homes even if it is mud brick and timber. It's just sad that so many die and at one time. Very sad and shocking.

The problem with China is China it self. The almost all military Gov there are so proud of their own ( not so ) achievements, that they see the outside world as nothing more than people trying to take over their control of their people. They are afraid that outsiders might take away their pride in looking after its people.
Chinas gov main goals are to make its people see and also believe that they have the power and the control over everything that goes on in their country.

The Land of China is EVEN SMALLER than Canada. But the population in any small city within China could be far greater than the population in Toronto - one of the most populated city in Canada. And Population as a whole is 1.5billion+, and Canada has only 30 Million, Do that Calculation, and how da fuck can you not build homes with mud bricks!

I don't mean to suggest anything about the Chinese who are going through this inimaginably horrible disaster except they are not only victims of the earthquake, but also of the plight of having to live in structures that don't withstand quakes well. I am sorry that wealth is not distributed around the globe more evenly than it is and that the cultures of our planet did not all advance tachnologically at the same rate. I believe Bush should have spent his war money to help those in need.
