Arreety, and it's always good to use plumber's putty under the faucet flange where it joins the sink top. And yeah - plumber's tape, just a wrap or two in the direction you will be threading onto the pipe.
Some sink faucet replacements are pretty easy (I've done a few) and will save you hundreds of dollars labor costs. It's gotten easier nowadays with screw-on braided connection lies, but you should still know your stuff & mind all the little details.
i gotta give you credit.......... removing the aerator fron the faucet usually the get pluged up with crap............ nice touch dude.......... i give you that ....... i willl hire you just for fhat............ i can polish you to be a great plumber............ you got the idea already..........say......... do you like mexican beauties?? I'lll make yo a good mexicanhusband..... you will be rewarded with women see. .... overhere they love mexicans you could become honorary mexican
how about some angle stops (shut of valves) on those water lines??? and flexible suply lines?? that way the home owner can still have water while you work on the faucet.................. nice mullet hahahaha..................... handy man............
Dude, you're a hoot to watch - but great job explaining as you go. Just a tip, may want to move that toothbrush, eh?
Right from the start you shoulda just chucked the whole sink. Putting a new faucet on that piece o' shit is like putting lipstick on a pig. Just sayin'.
It looks like home repair snowballs on you, just like it does on me. I had replacing a simple shower head turn into busting a huge hole in the wall to replace a bad pipe a couple of years ago. :O
They also make a tool that you can slide up on the nuts on the supply lines and they also
make a tool that has slots in it that is made to tighten the plastic nuts that hold the faucet down. Most of the time these are alot easier then using a basin wrench or anything else.Ridgid Tools makes the one that tightens the nuts on the faucet and they are metal and the other ones is made out of plastic.
ones and the grey plastic ones.I always use the stainless steel kind because they are alot easier and quicker to install.Since the brass ones were already bent and were reusable you
used them but usually go with the stainles steel flexible type.
looks good Rick. Most of the time when I do some plumbing work around here I make at least 2 trips to the hardware store lol. I have a mobile home so it has all that piece of shit pex pipe which is a pain in the ass.
Yeah, that stinks when you have a job almost finished and you run into a major problem! Now to undue the faucet again :( that stinks! Oh well, it will be sweet when you're all done with it! :)
i think i need new rubber washers for my bathroom sink handles.. cus the faucet drips all night sometimes. i would of never know what to do, cept i saw this episode recently of 'Leave it to Beaver', and June was telling Ward about the kitchen sink dripping, he told her the washers were wore out! hehe
i know squat about plumbing. so, i be making a trip to Wallyworld or Lowes sat =)
Make sure you get plumbers tape. They'll know what your talking about. Wrap any thread you screw together. You can't repair the washers without it, you'll just create another leak.

You can use the flexible stainless steel
supply lines that are braided versus the brass
ones and the grey plastic ones.I always use the stainless steel kind because they are alot easier and quicker to install.Since the brass ones were already bent and were reusable you
used them but usually go with the stainles steel flexible type.
